  1. Wow he got 2 FBs over the plate, 1 of them dead center.
  2. Dammit I thought we'd have a shot but then I realized Sori is up (hope I'm wrong)
  3. Damn I thought that was gone off the bat.
  4. This only happens to sulley's teams. Close play goes against the Cubs at 1st then Lee hits a HR
  5. Kind of ironic that Colvin's BABIP in the regular season is a bit unlucky. Of course Colvin's BABIP is .000
  6. Well we knew the bullpen was going to be an experiment coming into this season. So far the results? They've blown 50% of the games so far in the 8th inning.
  7. Would have been nice if the Cubs got more runs off a pitcher who was clearly struggling tonight.
  8. I imagine Erik is on the NSBB login page right about now.
  9. You know, considering how much Lou claims to hate pitchers who can't throw strikes, his teams really seem to have a lot of pitchers that cannot do that consistently.
  10. 4th game of the season nervous sure, but I'm more nervous about the Bulls game
  11. Sig worthy quote somewhere in there.
  12. I don't see what they did to renovate the bathrooms other than put a couple individual urinals for handicapped people/people with stage fright
  13. Lets make 85% of fans unable to watch the game, so Roast and his vocal minority can watch baseball immediately.
  14. While this is true, our bullpen needs Marshall more than our rotation at the moment. I don't know if we can say that for certain when Gorzo and Silva haven't pitched yet. Plus assuming Marshall is nearly as effective over 6 innings as he is in 2/3 of an inning (a bit of a stretch), he's a lot more valuable to us as a starter than as a reliever.
  15. Why must we always be in conflict? In order to help, I've dug up some quotes on tolerance:
  16. SJ is up 4-0 on Vancouver in the 2nd period tonight. I would have hoped that Vancouver could have given them a much more competitive game. I'm not sure who SJ plays to finish the season, but it's gonna be hard to get that 1 seed if we need to beat both Detroit and Colorado to get it.
  17. Kudos to the Cubs for coming back and allowing just 3 runs in the last 2 games after giving up 16 on Opening Day. They could have easily won both games and took the series, but sometimes you get a bad break (aka Grabow). I'm feeling a little better about this team after the last 2 games, but obviously there has not been nearly enough games played to make any sort of long term judgement on the 2010 Cubs. I'm just happy to get win number 1!
  18. I personally would because I'm a little down on Roberts due to age, and declining SB totals the last few years. Depending on your scoring system Pedroia can be extremely valuable based on the number of runs he scores among other things. Lee does worry me because they aren't even sure what sort of time table he's gonna come back from his injury. It is one of those injuries that started out rather minor and just kept getting prolonged and was a bit mysterious in nature. That said, once he's pitching, I think he has a chance in that ballpark to put up the numbers to justify trading Sabathia although if you need K's you'll obviously take a hit.
  19. If he's not going to be a starter, I'd prefer Lou not use him as a LOOGY, rather as a 7th or 8th inning setup guy. I think he'd be solid as a starter, at least better than Gorzo or Silva most likely, but look at his split stats last year As a starter: 5.24 ERA, .829 opponent OPS As a reliever: 3.23 ERA, .709 opponent OPS To be fair though, those numbers are probably skewed because Marshall had to make a couple of spot starts that turned out disastrous, most notably the game in Colorado where he had 20 minutes notice to start the game when Z was scratched while warming up. He got shelled that game.
  20. Si. It really is. Tomorrow the Bulls play in NJ, which is usually where they go to die no matter how good the Nets are. The Raptors play in Atlanta. On paper, that looks like the Bulls are about to take a 1 game lead heading into that game. Here is why that Toronto game is everything. If the above happens and the Bulls lose in Toronto, Toronto takes a lead due to tiebreakers, and then finishes their season in Detroit and against New York. Even without Bosh, those are 2 pretty winnable games. The Bulls finish with Boston and in Charlotte. So if the Bulls win 1 of those 2 games, then Toronto has to lose to both Detroit and NY. If the Bulls win both of them, Toronto still has to lose to 1 of those 2 bottom feeders. However, if the Bulls win on Sunday, they take a 2 game lead into the final 2 games, meaning that the Bulls magic number for a playoff spot is 1, so either the Bulls have to win 1 of those 2 games, or Toronto has to lose 1 of those 2 games for the Bulls to clinch. That game is EVERYTHING.
  21. Sweet, a pitcher we might be able to score a few runs against. I know I read somewhere that Bailey had made some adjustments and there was talk that he might be getting back to an above average "prospect". Anyone know how he looked in the spring?
