    Adbert has given up a HR to 9.3% of the batters he's faced this year. The saddest thing about that is that it seems lower than I thought.

    I dont know what you do with Adbert at this point. Seemed like he was right on track for rebuilding his confidence in lower leverage situations. This is probably the highest leverage inning he’s pitched in since the demotion and he botched it.

    He's 2 OAA so far this year which is tied for 9th among SS. Last year he was 1st with 20 OAA, a full 4 more than the 2nd best SS. Yeah its seemingly slipped but its also just 1 month in the season. TBH, I'm not a very big Swanson fan at all but give it a couple more months...he's a really streaky bat, maybe he's a streaky glove too lol Edit: Also I should mention his bWAR this year is 0.6, which is 2nd among the big 4 SS of 2023 behind Turner. Correa is at 0.2 and Bogaerts is at -0.2.

    Just for fun, record at the end of April for recent Cubs teams 2024: 19-11 or 18-12 2023: 14-13 2022: 8-13 2021: 11-15 2020: COVID 2019: 15-12 2018: 16-10 2017: 13-11 2016: 17-5 2015: 12-8 So if they win tonight it will their 2nd best record at the end of April over the last 10 years (by winning %). If they lose, they'll be tied for 3rd best (2016 and 2018 being better, tied with 2015).

    Alzolay this year when he was the closer: 1.40 WHIP, 7.78 FIP, 3 saves in 7 chances, 0.4 HR/IP, 8.1 K/9, 9.5% walk rate Neris since becoming the closer - 1.50 WHIP, 8.18 FIP, 4 saves in 4 chances, 0.25 HP/IP, 9 K/9, 22.2% walk rate I know these are just a couple of isolated stats and there's sample size issues and so much more, I'm not actually saying anything other than its amusing to me that Neris is arguably pitching worse as a whole than Adbert but so far has gotten results.

    Is there anything notable about Tauchman’s profile this year that would suggest what he’s doing right now is sustainable? Obviously he had a really solid season last year and had a particularly hot stretch in July/August but did level off a bit the rest of the year (but still solid year overall). With all the injuries hitting/getting on base right now is so crucial for us. Not expecting him to randomly be a .900 OPS hitter at age 34 but would be nice if what he is doing is somewhat sustainable.

    I've definitely had that thought. The astronomically high asking price, the willingness to forego ownership but also demand revenue from other events as if they owned the stadium. Seems like a lot of things that were designed to be serious sounding enough to get AH to cave on the tax issues and ridiculous enough that they know there is no way they will be able to get their demands approved in Chicago giving them an easy out to go back to AH.

    Gotta find a way to piece together a some wins over the few weeks without the players who account for probably 40% of our projected WAR this year.
