  1. http://euroflyers.blogspot.com/2010/06/pre-game-6-with-timonen-leino.html That's....an odd thing to say. Perhaps he's messing with the Hawks heads and trying to get them overconfident? I feel like this Flyers team there's always an agenda to what they say.
  2. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post in this thread since you obviously have been posting in this thread for a reason, but part of me does think the Hawks win tonight just because the general consensus is that the Flyers win today and force a game 7. I swear EVERYONE is telling me that. But the other part of me has no [expletive] clue what is going to happen. It's just been a really unpredictable series for the most part.
  3. Things that happened in 1996: -The Bulls win 72 games and their 4th NBA title in 6 years -The Yankees win their first World Series title since the early 1980's -The Cowboys win their last Super Bowl to date, beating the Steelers -Bill Clinton defeatd Bob Dole and is reelected President of the United States -The Summer Olympics are held in Atlanta, GA -Princess Diana and Prince Charles are divorced -The OJ Simpson Trial begins -On October 27th at around 4:31 PM CST, a young umfan begins puberty Oh and also the Blackhawks won a game at what is then called the CoreStates Center, their last win in Philadelphia until TONIGHT
  4. need a sub? Haha, actually the captain of my team was just giving me a guilt trip because multiple people are backing out this week because of the game. Normally we usually never have problems with getting people to show, we usually have too many people. If you can get here from Iowa before 7:15 I'll see what I can do :)
  5. Kyle? That was me until I finally mustered the courage to get dressed and get to work. And I have a three hour flight this afternoon to AZ to calm the nerves. Was invited to dinner with some other work folks tonight. Obviously that's not happening. Oh my bad, sorry for confusing you with Kyle, terrible mistake (kidding Kyle). Luckily I have my busiest day of work this week today starting in about a half hour so I am hoping the day flies by quickly without much thought of the game. Also, since it is Wednesday, I have another kickball game at 7:15 today. This week I told them to screw off. I can't miss any moments in a potential championship game. I'll regret it if we lose, but I'd regret it even more if we won and I missed the first and 5 minutes into the second period.
  6. Can't be mad if that's true. If he doesn't leave Cleveland, he never intended to anyways. Get Bosh and JJ or something.
  7. He's been strangely absent from this thread since before game 5. I think he said something about traveling but still. He was so cocky about being certain that the Hawks were going to lose the series. They still might, but I think he was saying it would be in 6 games.
  8. I think like raw said, the biggest thing I've read about Rudy is that he doesn't force his style on anyone. In order for some of the established players to benefit from his teachings, he has to earn their trust which can take some time. Hitting coaches aren't miracle workers, even the supposed best in the business.
  9. At the strike of midnight, it has been 17,951 days (roughly 1,077,060 hours or 64,623,600 seconds) since the Chicago Blackhawks have lifted the Stanley Cup in triumph. Will tomorrow bring that number back to 0? I really really hope so.
  10. What's he going to do? Play dirty? Seriously...if you need something like this for extra motivation in the Stanley Cup Finals, you don't belong there.
  11. lol, that was clearly a moving screen and the right call, but you had to think the officials were desperately looking for a makeup call there.
  12. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/leighton-back-in-goal-for-flyers.html what an idiot. the only reason leighton has "the best numbers in the playoffs" is because he hasn't played much and has his numbers pumped up by 3 shutouts against a terrible montreal offense. i wonder what niemi's postseason numbers would look like if he got to play the bruins and canadiens instead of the canucks and sharks The most important point as to why we need to ask that question is because YOU PULLED LEIGHTON AFTER THE FIRST PERIOD OF TWO DIFFERENT FINALS GAMES. Idiot.
  13. i'm 100% against this for multiple reasons. so [expletive] stupid, and pretty embarrassing to the city Meh, why be so serious, it's sports and they were just having fun with it. They even said they would like Pronger if he was on the Hawks.
  14. I like tracking those "How Loud is it" articles after each game. For those wondering if the UC might have had a touch of nervousness in the crowd during the game, you might be right but overall there wasn't much difference. The highest reading was 119, while the highest reading in the first 2 games was 122 I believe. For the goals scored, in game 1, the reaction ranged from 110-118, in Game 5, 112-116 (not including the EN goal that was the 119). http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=531098
  15. seriously. Petition the NHL for a 21 game series plz. First to 11 wins.
  16. I did that in 2008 with bleachers. I like sitting in the bleachers once in awhile, but after the 4th or 5th game, I wish I had a different vantage point and could sit on the other side of the park. The people don't bother me though...you gotta expect a big contingent of "lets get drunk and have a good time" fans when the Cubs suck this badly.
  17. Why? It's never a bad thing for guys to get extra time off, especially when they're one of the few useful players on the Cubs right now. You want Marmol rested for what exactly? 2011?
  18. Meh, this is one of those games where Marmol gets burned for allowing those runners. Normally he doesn't. Shouldn't hurt his all star candidacy too much. That's all I'm really worried about. That and Ron Santo's health. How did he take that one?
  19. It's so sad, the only person in the world that would live and die on a team that's 26-31 and barely has signs of life.
  20. A base hit wins it most likely. Former Cub top prospect Casey McGehee due up. Not good.
  21. It'd be nice if I could see this game. I went out of my way to put the 9th inning on and I get nothing for my troubles.
  22. I don't think there are many teams that would put Theriot in there. How has his D been at 2B? I would think most teams in baseball have a 2B in their system that can hit as well as Theriot has this year with better D. Even if they don't, no one wants to pay $3 million for someone putting up Theriot's numbers. He's not a cheap young player anymore. But I haven't seen how Theriot has done since moving to 2B....I remember reading at some point that his numbers were really good defensively back in 06 when he was playing 2B primarily.
  23. Dammit why did they take him out, he could have tied the single game strikeout record with 20 K's? He only had 94 pitches, so he could have gone like 30 more. /Dusty Baker.
  24. I say that if our offense breaks out and we sweep the Brewers, we find some way to claim this ballpark as our own and play the rest of our home games there. The Brewers can play at Lambeau or something.
