  1. If we had any sort of respectable offense things would be much different against this team. Look at the scores of games against Pittsburgh: L 3-2 L 4-2 L 11-1 L 10-6 L 4-3 W 4-3 L 3-2 L 3-1 W 6-1 L 2-1 The Pirates have a baseball worst 5.31 ERA, and we are averaging 2.8 runs per game against them. Only 2 games have they scored more than 4 runs in a game against them. If we scored 5 runs a game against the Pirates, which is roughly their ERA, the record against the Pirates would be 8-2 instead of 2-8. The offense has completely shut down against the Pittsburgh [expletive] Pirates.
  2. 8-2 against the Cubs, 18-48 against the rest of Major League Baseball. If they played a whole season at the pace they've played the other 29 MLB teams, they'd be a 44-118 (.274) team. But against the Cubs they play at a 130-32 (.800) pace. LOL have the Pirates really lost 17 straight road games before today?
  3. Or maybe even a 10 day contract, and then on July 18th, he can resign for a max deal. bird rights don't transfer until after year 3. Darn foiled again. Oh and I guess the OP was foiled too. Apparently someone already thought of that before the last CBA.
  4. I don't know from what I've read it's pretty close as to whether they can do it. Also, I think it's funny how they are like "no Miami can sign 3 max players. Chicago can only sign 2." Yeah but one of the players is their own player Dwyane Wade.
  5. Or maybe even a 10 day contract, and then on July 18th, he can resign for a max deal.
  6. Yeah I bet there was something behind the scenes there. Wish I knew what happened.
  7. Good, if there was a year where that wouldn't upset me, this would be it. Why do they even need Cliff Lee? I thought Carp and Wainwright were Koufax and Drysdale of the 2010's
  8. Yeah he's the Snuffaluffagus of RealGM, if Snuffaluffagus ever got a rumor correct.
  9. If it makes you guys feel better McGraw from the Herald basically shot down SAS's rumor. He said on a scale of 1 to "Carlos Zambrano is on my fantasy team", the worry here is about 1.5
  10. lol, which time?
  11. I just don't know why he'd go out of his way to tell people that they didn't need to make any more trades and they are 'fine' regarding cap space. And yes, I know he didnt say anything about the RFAs, my post was asking if we had a chance to resign Ladd since we qualified him, and from there said if we could somehow bring most of this team back I would hug Bowman. I don't think it's likely we do, but the truth is no one knows what crazy cap stuff he's pulling behind the scenes (like the injury cap relief stuff no one realized they could do)
  12. It's funny reading different teams' fans perspectives on all of this. The Bulls fans on RealGM are talking as if LeBron has already signed with the Bulls. The Knicks fans there are adamant that Gallinari and Toney Douglass are better pieces for LeBron than Rose and Noah and seem to think when the curtains go up, LeBron will choose New York. The Cavs fans on RealCavsFans are almost in denial. They think all these reports are just crazy speculation by the media. They've been dismissing all the tweets and news articles that say he's going elsewhere. They all seem to think that LeBron is just milking this whole thing for the publicity and that he's wanted to stay in Cleveland all along and will show that soon. I don't know who is right, but someone is gonna be wrong and it's gonna suck for that fan base.
  13. I will seriously hug Bowman if he is able to bring this team back under the cap sans Buff, Sopel, Eager and Frasier. That's phenomenal. i think that's impossible I'm just basing off his comments yesterday.
  14. From what I read they aren't gonna qualify him because they don't expect any teams to sign him to an offer sheet and they hope to resign him at a lower salary or something. Is it possible that we actually resign Ladd? I was pretty much assuming for weeks that his time in Chicago is over. I will seriously hug Bowman if he is able to bring this team back under the cap sans Buff, Sopel, Eager and Frasier. That's phenomenal. And I love going over to hfboards and reading fans of other teams get angry because the capocolypse that they were eagerly looking forward to is not coming to fruition.
  15. Bosh is also -500. That's ridiculous. I feel like betting against both of them, both because I want to hedge my happiness and because I think that's nowhere near close to a true representation of reality. The New York Times still has some pull I guess. Being the cynic I am, I want to believe the hype, and part of me does, but the other part is waiting for the carpet to get pulled out from under me. I know none of the rumors have been as mainstream as this one, but I still have unhealed wounds from the Kobe to Chicago and Bulls trading for Amare rumors, not to mention Brian Roberts and Peavy for the Cubs.
  16. 6 runs in the last 6 games. If you take out that random 12 run outburst against Anaheim, thats 6 runs in the last 7 games. Brilliant.
  17. Welcome to the big leagues Cashner. 11 in a row for the Sox..... ...... and the BP CUP
  18. So someone run down a calendar for me if they don't mind. What is next for the MNT after licking their wounds and watching the rest of the World Cup stateside. Will there be a down period before the Gold Cup preparations or will there be friendlies scheduled later this fall? Edit: Oh I see a friendly vs. Brazil at the new Giants Stadium in August. Interesting.
  19. Equating Ghana players falling down to the disallowed goals by Dempsey and Edu is just stupid. They're not even comparable. The refereeing hardly played a major role in today's outcome. Ricardo Clark's giveaway and our defense did. Especially because at most the US lost 1-2 minutes because of the timewasting techniques. And the ref did let the US do a throw in and continue playing while one of the guys was laying flat on the ground right in the middle of the play and only stopped the game when Ghana was about to gain possession near midfield. The US was gassed at the end...they spent the last 20 minutes trying to lob the ball into the penalty box and hope to get a lucky bounce. They could have played another 30 minutes and probably not scored.
  20. Honestly, that's a very par result given the quality of the U.S. team and who we faced. It's not good or bad, it's just who we are. Based on who we should have beat, should have lost to and could have gone either way, we should have gone 2-1-1 with wins over Slovenia and Algeria, loss to England and draw with Ghana....but since we played Ghana in the knockout round, we should have beaten them so 3-1-0
  21. Still have never won 2 World Cup games in a row. 1-1-2 tournament blah.
  22. That hurts. I really thought we'd win this one.
  23. [expletive] ghana that country is stupid
  24. So not even 3 minutes then?
  25. Well we got the Stanley Cup.....lost the World Cup....still need to win 2 more for the BP Cup. Go Cubs! 2 out of 3 Cups ain't bad! Sorry I tried guys :(
