  1. Happ absolutely tried to recreate his first pitch HR there
  2. He actually played 1 less game where he led off. 75 games at 2 and 74 at 1
  3. Very interesting to see.... Today's lineup with the number of times they hit in that spot of the order last year 1. Happ - 2 games (3rd was most common with 127 games) 2. Seiya - 13 games (4th was most common with 49 games) 3. Bellinger - 7 games (4th was most common with 83 games) 4. Morel - 3 games (7th was most common with 30 games) 5. Swanson - 62 games (2nd was most common at 68 gmaes) 6. Busch - N/A 7. Nico - 1 game (2nd was most common with 75 games) 8. Madrigal - 23 games (9th was most common at 49 games) 9. Gomes - 22 games (8th was most common at 50 games) So not a single player in the opening day lineup started the most games at their current spot in the batting order last year, and only Swanson started more than 15% of last year's games at the same spot in the batting order that he is today. Not a criticism at all, just interesting to see how different Counsell has them lined up than Ross did.
  4. Well they usually force a day off in between the first and second game to ensure that those that bought Opening Day tickets get to attend the opening day. I guess if logistically it didnt work out that way, that's the only thing they can do, but if Monday is rained out than the people who paid premium prices for Opening Day will attend on Thursday (if that's when its rescheduled).
  5. I saw some complaining about how weird it is the Rangers have an off day scheduled after today considering they play in a dome so there is no possibility of rainouts. Looking at the schedule, the Cubs home opener is on Monday, with games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Current forecast for Monday is 46 degrees with rain (rain on Tuesday too)
  6. Oh we're doing Mad Men on Opening Day? Bodes well for the season Justin Steele to the Rangers lineup:
  7. I vote auto threads if that was what was happening last year, but with the ability to have a poster to jump in and start a game thread (with @Brock Beauchamp's permission) when needed like when the Cubs are on a losing streak and need a gam thread from tree (if he's alive) or if its time for the annual Mad Men gif threads.
  8. I wonder how much the Boras 4 would have gotten last offseason when it seemed like the money and years were flowing more freely (Bellinger coming off his 2023 season, not where he actually was as a FA in 2023). Crazy that all of them basically accepted 1 year deals after all that posturing.
  9. I figured that the fact that the Bears are finally giving up a home game for an international game plus the fact that the Bears agreed to play in the HOF game against Houston next season meant that they were going to be able to squirm out of Hard Knocks again.
  10. Atlanta is now just 2 games behind the Bulls for the 9 seed. JR's gonna be pissed off if he loses the revenue from an extra home game.
  11. Yeah it was insane. I didn't realize that in the year 2023 in a densely population area you could have that much trouble with cell service. Also, I tried to see if I could sneak another free year of MLB.tv from T-Mobile this year and sadly it did not work this time. Enjoy all the free baseball you damn T-Mobile users!
  12. Pistons and Wizards are a combined 3-2 against the Bulls and 23-125 against everyone else.
  13. Prettiest US goal since Jermaine Jones in the 2014 World Cup vs. Portugal IMO.
  14. Man that was so fun. To think we needed a miracle on the literal last play against Jamaica to get this outcome. The US has not lost a competitive match against Mexico since July 2019, almost 5 full years ago.
  15. I barely watch spring training but with the season a few days away I was looking forward to watching a bit of today’s game but of course today’s game will not be broadcast by Marquee 😡😡
  16. Sucks, would have loved to have seen another 2016 guy back on the roster.
  17. Dude just wanted to hit the clubhouse early to watch the games.
  18. Because you were one botched corner kick away from serious questions asked about GGG’s leadership. Reddit seems to be convinced he would be out if they lost. I don’t think that’s the case but would have been a pretty eye opening loss
  19. And they lost. Probably the most embarrassing result since T&T edit: nevermind they scored in literally the last play of the game to tie lmao. I’m leaving my OP up to laugh
  20. The USA A-ish team is currently losing a competitive match to Jamaica's B team so that's fun.
  21. lol, different sport. Just like if the Cubs won the World Series I'm still going to be disappointed if the Bears suck because the football season feels ruined. OK maybe bad example because the Bears always suck
  22. Dayton has not looked like the same team the last month or so. Figures that even my (distant) 3rd favorite team can't bring any excitement to me this year lol
  23. Sounds like we have our rotation: Steele, Imanaga, Hendricks, Assad, Wicks. We'll see who gets bumped when Taillon is back
  24. And the Ricketts family caught wind of this, which is why they didnt go through with the $750m contract they were about to offer Source: Crane Kenney
