  1. The NY Post is reporting that Sanchez will start on Sunday http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/sanchez_improves_in_practice_report_xFCCaOC5CSULtePRNea3kO
  2. The Cowboys are still playing hard and are still a talented team and it's the last game of the season. Is it in Dallas? I could see the Cowboys winning over their rivals
  3. Because he doesn't look like an ace. Aces don't have male pattern baldness, red goatees, or a sense of humor. #4's do Aces don't trip jumping over the fence in front of the dugout either. Classic #4 starter behavior.
  4. True. I don't computer models project that kind of stuff though. I'm sure they take into account that almost all the key players are on the later half of their careers, but they are playing at such a high level that it's hard for a computer model to predict much regression.
  5. Too high or too low? They're what 23-4 right now?
  6. http://trsullivan.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/12/webb_not_in_texaswashington_ha.html if you're trying to re-establish your value, why the hell would you want to pitch in texas? seriously, that would be dumb Worked great for Rich Harden...
  7. He was at a game a couple of years ago and the Bulls got killed. He probably doesn't want to jinx them anymore.
  8. Yeah its the same on WCIU. Heard some interesting things tonight. It's most evident on the side of the court that the Wizards are currently shooting at.
  9. I agree with the basic idea of your post but there are several issues at play that I think make his statement about being disrespected somewhat reasonable 1) He was randomly pulled out of a game with 2 minutes left. (which is fine). Afterwords when asked about it Shannahan made up some excuse about him not being in shape to run the 2 minute offense. Then later it was that he didn't know the 2 minute offense well enough. If you are gonna pull the guy because he sucks, just say it. 2) Then he was given a huge contract extension that has nothing guaranteed after this year unless he started a game for them next year. That was just bizarre. Was it hush money? We're they reaffirming their committment to him? Were they trying to motivate him to play better? None of this made sense. 3) Then he is replaced as the starter with 3 weeks left in the season and told he's being demoted to 3rd string. According to McNabbs comments he found out by the media. Shannahan didn't tell him until Thursday. 4) He's being replaced by Rex Grossman. It's not like theres someone else on the roster that either a) Has a better track record, or b) has a future as the Redskins QB. It's just a weird set of circumstances that would seemed to have gone better if Shannahan and the powers that be were more upfront from the start. I realize its a difficult move to make for your fan base to understand, but it has to play out better than that. No arguments that he wasn't playing well enough to feel entitled to remain as starter for the rest of the season.
  10. With less cockfighting involved, yes.
  11. Hahaha Packers fans you supported a douchebag for 15 years! And Vikings fans support him now even though he's even a bigger douchebag now. (PS I realize I support Jay Cutler)
  12. Funny that this topic keeps coming up but I was listening to Waddle and Silvy yesterday and they were talking about all they hear is about how hard Cutler works and that he's one of the hardest workers on the team and sets an example for the rest of the team. I don't think anyone that claims to know really knows.
  13. I wanted Hawes too. I'm not afriad to admit it. I hated the idea of drafting Noah and thought he would never be anything more than a poor man's Tyson Chandler. I thought Hawes was raw but had shown a primative low post game, the type that we desperately needed on the team. I felt if we drafted him, in 2-3 years he'd be a legit low post threat for us. That's why I only pretend to be an NBA GM on the internet. Never been happier to be wrong.
  14. This is still my favorite Devin Hester return, even though it came with Miami in 2005. I had to watch this video like 10 times the first time I saw it because it was so badass. My favorite part is when he goes around the edge and gets a little space and there is a defender coming at him from the left side. He stops on a dime, hesitates looking towards the defender, just enough to take him off his angle to Hester, and then bounces back outside and runs it in.
  15. The funny/sad thing is, he thinks that Cutler is actually perceived as an elite QB. I think most media people believe he's in the million dollar arm/ten cent head category. I personally see a QB that has all the tools and is in the process of learning how to put them together, which has to happen slower than normal because of his teams offensive limitations. He's not in the Manning, Brady, Brees, but I wouldn't count him out eventually as a best case scenario.
  16. Yeah there's no doubt part of the Bears success this year has been luck. Luck with schedule, luck with other team's inopportune injuries, luck with our own lack of injuries. Critics of the Bears will say that's the only reason we are 10-4 and on the other side of the spectrum defenders will say that they still won 10 games in the NFL that's tough no matter what. I'm in the middle...its hard not to acknowledge the luck. The Bulls have mad more injuries in their 7 weeks of basketball this year than the Bears in 15 weeks. But I think the Bears are legit good, and are a team that has improved in their weak areas significatly since week 1. I think they can beat any team in the NFC, but who knows if they will.
  17. I don't think Thomas looked that bad. He looked decent. At least better than I expected. That said, I'm with you guys, I am really hoping Thibs doesn't make Thomas his frontcourt Bogans, the wily veteran that does 3 bad things for every 1 good thing he does.
  18. Geez beware if you are playing the Bulls after losing to a bad team.
  19. That's a total of 16. I know the SB one doesn't count toward the 14, but I assume the other is the Missed FG against the Giants? That's kind of lame. Yup, missed FG doesnt count as a return. By my count, I've seen 3 of his returns live. The 2 earlier Minnesota returns and the New Orleans one.
  20. They'd been playing pretty well lately. Guess not tonight.
  21. This was by far my favorite. Didn't Sauerbrun mention he was going to challenge Hester? That worked well. Yup, it was quite awesome when Hester leaped over the fallen body of Sauerbrun as the last line of defense enroute to his 2nd td.
  22. Minnesota has now been the most victimized team by Devin Hester Minnesota - 3 (2006, 2007, 2010) Green Bay - 2 (2006, 2010) Denver - 2 (2007x2) St. Louis - 2 (2006x2) Arizona - 1 (2006) New York Giants - 1 (2006 - Missed FG) Indianapolis - 1 (2006 - Super Bowl) Kansas City - 1 (2007) Detroit - 1 (2007) New Orleans - 1 (2007) Seattle - 1 (2010)
  23. the salary component was introduced by you, though. to be fair. ] Wait no, not at all. I thought that's what you guys were talking about when you were discussing spending.
  24. I highly doubt it. Let me explain my reasoning. The report said Webb wants to pitch under an incentive laden deal to build his value back up. He's interested in meeting with the Rangers and Mike Maddux to discuss. He might have put a stronger emphasis on the Cubs if we had Larry, who is widely respected, rather than a relative unknown. But since then we've seen reports that suggest the Cubs pulled out not necessarily Webb
