  1. Yeah there will definitely be some growing pains trying to adjust a dominating post presence into the lineup. Like all players, he has his tendencies, spots on the floor he likes the ball, etc. But I'm pretty sure Rose can run a fluid pick and roll. They should dominate from the start with that. I'm pretty sure the team will know to dump it into him if they are going through a scoring drought and see a smaller player switched onto him defensively. They will be able to immediately exploit that mismatch. Stuff like that will be fluid and should see an immediate bump. But yeah, they won't be perfectly fluid with him on the court for a little while. The biggest thing is that he hasn't even played in really any scrimage or preseason game with Boozer either. He was hurt 2-3 practices into training camp so its almost like we are almost making an in season trade for him. As much as the injury sucked, it will be cool that the first time I'll see him play in a Bulls uniform is not in a meaningless preseason game but right in the middle of the regular season most likely against a key opponent.
  2. Also, the 08 Steelers offensive line was ranked 24th in the league and their pass blocking was 29th in the league with a 9.2% Adjusted Sack Rate. The Bears are 32nd with a 10.8 Adjusted Sack Rate. 9.2 is still pretty bad and would lead the NFL some years.
  3. To get ahead of myself by a lot for just a minute...I bet it'd be a historically bad OL DVOA for a SB team...heh. At first I missed the OL part of your post and thought you meant just a historically bad overall DVOA for a SB team. And I'm sure not many 18th best DVOA teams make the SB, but wanted to point out the 08 Cardinals finished 21st in DVOA, which was -3.2 (the Bears are currently at -0.2)
  4. A career year for Theriot will be an OPS of .750 while having no range at SS. I'm not worried about it. I dunno about that. Bill James is going to be introducing a new statistic to measure and predict the jump gritty white infielders should expect to receive by joining St. Louis. I think he calls it the Pixie Dust Effect (PDE). In his latest article, he predicts with PDE, Theriot should be expected to hit .404 OBP/.420 SLG/.824 OPS next year.
  5. I was offered tickets for tonight, but then found out I'd have to get a Noah bobblehead, so I declined. You'd have to get there at like 5:30 when the gates open, or so I've read from previous experiences.
  6. Bears improve to 18th in DVOA rankings. They still have a negative DVOA for the season but it has been trending upwards for several weeks now. 2 weeks ago they were 24th overall and now 18th. Their numbers rank the Bears offense 30th still. They've kind of been in this isle of suckatudes for awhile. The 29th and 31st teams have a huuuuge gap between them with the Bears almost right in the middle. So while they are playing better, they still haven't played well enough to make up for the first 8-9 games. FYI the defense is rated 6th in the league and Special teams 3rd. The offensive line is 29th overall, with the pass blocking still dead last by a good margin but the number has improved so that it is not a historically bad number, but a average number for the last place team in a given year.
  7. Pittsburgh won with a pretty weak line. They had more WR weapons to somewhat offset the problem, but it was a pretty big problem. Yeah I was gonna say, I remember that line being pretty bad. Of course I don't think we have a Santonio Holmes, much less a Hines Ward on our roster.
  8. How in the hell does Miguel Tejada still deserve 6.5 million? For a .692 OPS? I'm assuming his defense isn't that great either at this age. You don't have a minor league prospect that can have a .650-.700 ops and good d in the majors for 500k? If these guys (Uribe and Tejada) are setting the market, we're in trouble.
  9. DeRosa from what I remember was always complimentary of the Cubs when he was on the Cardinals and didn't seem to get involved in trash talking and the rivalry. Theriot is just a douche. He must have read NSBB too much and didn't like our opinions of him.
  10. That's how intimidating Scott is after kicking ass the other night.
  11. Kane and Toews both with 2 goals and an assist tonight. If they can really get going, with how good Sharp has looked this season, we can limit the damage that losing Hossa does. And when he comes back, we can start going again. lol Morin gets into a good fight. Way to make your presence felt. These teams don't like each other.
  12. That was a good looking PP. Man the offense looks good tonight. That'll do it. Hawks win
  13. ha ha HA. I saw Wicked like 2 years ago. I would have went with Billy Elliot for full comedic effect.
  14. This is such an important game too since they have 1 less point than us but 4 more games to play with. It's fairly important that we get a regulation win.
  15. Hawks return to the UC and their defense goes back to [expletive]... (I am assuming that is the case, I haven't been able to watch, just saw the score)
  16. Atlanta is 9-2 Thank you and Thank you. Sorry about that. Wishful thinking that Atlanta is 8-3 ;)
  17. I was reading in the trip today, 54 of the 59 teams to start 8-3 have made the playoffs since the playoffs expanded to its current format. I remember the Jets did this a few years back with Favre, but I can't think of any other examples. I don't know how many times a 9-3 team has missed the playoffs...anyone know? Edit: Just remembered the Bucs started 9-3 the same year as the Jets collapse and missed the playoffs. In 1993, Miami was 9-2 and didn't end up making the playoffs. That's insane but it part of it was because Dan Marino was injured for the season.
  18. If they do lose focus, it won't be because Lovie did. Don't forget this man is still coaching for his job. If they collapse and finish 8-8 or 9-7 to finish the year, he's not gonna be returning.
  19. you got Miles order wrong... Miles was a Cardinals before he went to the Cubs so they already had him before the Cubs... then he went back there after he was released or whatever... Yeah I can't explain Theriot or DeRosa though. Cardinals don't secretly covet only Cubs gritty white MI's, they covet ALL gritty white MI's... I understand the Cardinals had him before, but they released him meaning they didn't want him anymore. So Miles signed with the Cubs has a historically pathetic season and somehow the Cardinals want him back.
  20. In a given year almost every team is going to look awful some weeks, awesome in other weeks, blow out teams they are just as good as, play close games or lose against vastly inferior teams, etc. The thing that I think is funny is that everyone was bitching about the Bears beating no one and you guys are picking out "elite' teams that have beaten just as few teams as the Bears did but they all get the benefit of the doubt for various reasons. Then again, very few good teams looked as bad as the Bears did in a single game as we did against the Giants on National TV. It's understandable that it took another marquee win for them to start to look past that game.
  21. DeRosa: Cubs --> Indians --> Cardinals Miles: Cubs -->A's/Reds --> Cardinals Theriot: Cubs --> Dodgers --> Cardinals lol, I don't think I really comprehend this. First DeRosa, then Miles and now Theriot. Do the Cardinals secretly covet our gritty white MI's? But they can't trade for them because we're rivals so they wait until we trade them to someone else and then make their move?
  22. Yay, Bears move from 12th to 7th in ESPN's power rankings 1. Falcons 2. Patriots 3. Jets 4. Ravens 5. Steelers 6. Saints 7. Bears 8. Packers 9. Eagles 10. Giants Unfortunately the Bears are still the lowest 8-3 team, but I am not going to gripe about the Ravens, Steelers, or Saints being rated higher than the Bears.
  23. He also did that without Pippen, so I'd imagine the assist numbers especially would be higher, if Pip had played.

  25. Meh its just what I've noticed. Obviously it's not absolute.
