  1. Oh man that's not good.
  2. I'd go with Nate Kaeding instead of Scott Norwood.
  3. Well I still hope the Packers win but either way looks like it's gonna be a good finish. I am less nervous about the prospects of playing the Eagles than I was before the game. However, I'd still much rather face Seattle.
  4. Their line is doing a much better job of picking up the blitzes in this game compared to the Giants and Vikings games. Reid's not pulling Vick at this juncture of the game. I don't think he will either. I'm just pointing out that the Eagles brass doesn't necessarily seem 100% behind Vick at this point.
  5. Also if anyone is unsure if the Eagles would part with Vick, Sal Paolantonio reported this week (not sure if it was posted already):
  6. I wonder how much this game could change the thinking regarding Vick's status after this season. He is a free agent after this year, and halfway through the season it was a no brainer that Philly would sign him to a nice extension and commit to him as the QB for the next 5 years. But the last 7-8 weeks the Philly offense hasn't had the same impact as it did earlier in the year. You start to wonder if its a great idea to commit the money it would take to sign a 31 year old QB who relies heavily on his legs. Especially when you have someone like Kolb on the sidelines, a QB you were willing to commit to as your starter before the season. Then again, it would be a really bad way to handle having two valuable QBs on your roster. If you do not resign Vick, you lose a pro bowl caliber QB for nothing. If you keep Vick you can probably get a 1st for Kolb in the offseason. So most likely the Eagles will still commit to Vick, but the decision is not as obvious as it was in October.
  7. Momentum shifter
  8. Cross that bridge when you come to it. It would be stupid to root for the Packers to lose and then get crushed by the Eagles next weekend while Atlanta destroys Seattle. Of course you should root for whoever you want, for whatever reason and it doesn't affect anything. I'm just preaching from my POV.
  9. I always have been only because I hate the packers so much. I would rather play at Atlanta or lose to Philadelphia then know the packers are still in the playoffs. I want them demoralized Set aside GB for a second. Would you rather play Philly or Seattle? If you'd rather play Seattle, then I disagree with your reasoning. Your hatred for a team should never exceed the priorities of your favorite team. For most people, they'd rather see the Bears have an easier matchup next round.
  10. Lol. I was just reading a Seahawks blog to see what their thoughts are about this game and who they hope to play. I expected them to prefer to play the Bears but from their comments they seem to think that playing the Bears is a free ticket to the NFC title game. They are talking about how they hope the Packers can beat the Falcons so they can host the title game. A couple of them think that they dominated the Bears earlier this year (I'll admit the game was not as close as the 3 point margin but still. Not a domination). They have a right to feel confident so it doesn't rile me up. It's just funny to read.
  11. You know what [expletive] it. I was on the "hope we don't face packers in title game" group but who cares. This is pretty much a charmed season for the Bears. We've caught all the breaks, lovie smith himself probably didn't think we could be in the NFC title game (if we got there). We probably wouldn't win the super bowl unless the Pats lose. I say bring the Packers on. If we lost to them it would suck but whatever it'd still be a great season and a memorable matchup. And if we won....boy would that be epic. You have to put up a lot to win a lot and beating the Packers to get to the Super Bowl would be as good as it gets. Sorry for the pro bear rambling.
  12. Bears in the NFC Championship game 7 Eagles 0
  13. Shhh...you'll ruin the impression that the Packers are horribly unlucky. Ok I'm done.
  14. It'd be nice if we could get a break to go our way in the injury department. It'd also be nice if the Bears could have an all pro qb start every game for 18 straight years. yeah, what a bunch of whiners This is like the only day in your lives when you'll have to root for the Packers, do you think you all could spare everyone the "lucky Packers" schtick for 24 hours? It's a reverse jinx remember
  15. have some sympathy for the poor Bears and Packers fans When the Lions are the class of the NFC for the next decade you will feel real pity for us.
  16. I gotta admit cheering for the Packers is harder than I thought. On the first eagles drive I screamed at my tv when Vick couldn't convert on 3rd and 1 and then I realized that's good.
  17. It'd be nice if we could get a break to go our way in the injury department. It'd also be nice if the Bears could have an all pro qb start every game for 18 straight years.
  18. To their credit the only reason they claim to want Seattle is because they beat us and they want a chance to avenge it. But yeah it would definitely be bulletin board material and I wish they said all the right things that you mentioned.
  19. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=6005064&top
  20. Seems like a Redskins type of acquisition.
  21. The Seahawks 41 points today was only 10 points less than they scored in the entire month of October.
  22. Last 5 Super Bowl participants and how they fared the next year 10 Saints - Lost on Wild Card weekend 10 Colts - Lost on Wild Card weekend 09 Steelers - Missed playoffs 09 Cardinals - Lost in Divisional Round (second playoff game) 08 Giants - Lost in Divisional Round (first playoff game) 08 Patriots - Missed playoffs 07 Colts - Lost in Divisional Round (first playoff game) 07 Bears - Missed playoffs 06 Steelers - Missed playoffs 06 Seahawks - Lost in Divisional Round (second playoff game) So 4 of the 10 didn't make the playoffs, 8 of the 10 didn't win a playoff game the next year (2-6 overall playoff record), and none of them made it to the Conference championship round.
  23. So as far as next week....here's what we know. Jets @ Patriots Ravens/Chiefs @ Steelers Seahawks/Eagles @ Bears Seahawks/Packers @ Falcons
  24. Packers win Go Packers. I changed my FB status to officially rooting Packers :) All my Packer fan buddies immediately responded. This is going to be kind of fun. Same....they werent thrilled about me rooting for GB.
  25. I really have no idea who I want to win this. I wouldn't mind seeing Jets/Pats next week. Colts/Steelers would probably be the more competitive matchup though.
