  1. C'mon Frolik and Bolland, 2 straight offsides. How do you botch that 2 times in 30 seconds?
  2. A much needed point is earned, now lets go out and get that 2nd point. We need to get 2 points at home. We dominated that period until the last few minutes and nothing to show for it. We've outshot them 38-27 and yet we're going to OT. I get the feeling that the Hawks are a really unlucky team this year.
  3. You idiots, I said no letdowns
  4. Alright 2-0 Hawks! A regulation win would be HUGE. A reg. Win would put the Hawks in a 4 way tie for 6th 7th 8th and 9th place with the Hawks having a game in hand over Nashville and tied in games with Minnesota and Dallas. Also need an Anaheim and Calgary loss for an ideal night. No letdowns!
  5. Blake DimWitt. Ok that was bad.
  6. Wait where did his thread come from? I swear I checked for one before I posted it. Must have missed it. My bad, sorry CT
  7. First game of spring...game will be on 720 with Pat and.....Keith. The show must go on :( Z is scheduled to start and new Cub Matt Garza is scheduled to go after Carlos. Quade already posted his lineup for this game, which is said to be what the opening day lineup is expected to be, besides the pitcher. Fukudome, RF Castro, SS Byrd, CF Ramirez, 3B Pena, 1B Soriano, LF Soto, C DeWitt, 2B Zambrano, P
  8. No doubt. It sucks but I understand it. It's fine by me, despite my bitching, as long as they don't price them so high that they don't sell out and lose revenue to better the team in the process.
  9. $72 for the highest priced tier of games which I believe are opening day, Saturday and Sunday games in June, July and August, and maybe all cardinals, white sox and yankees games. Edit: nevermind, they created a new "Marquee" tier of pricing that is 13 games: Opening Day, the Yankees and White Sox series, and the Cardinals weekend series in August. This is the only possible way that the Pirates would every be considered a marquee game. In this tier, Bleacher tickets are now $72 plus taxes and fees. Platinum games are 17 games from mid-may to mid-August, and Bleacher seats are $58 Gold game are 19 day games (in the bleachers only) mostly pre-memorial day. They are $42 for the privledge. Then there's Silver games ($32) and 15 Bronze games ($20) that are all either in April or September (and last week of August). That's insane that you have to pay $72 to sit in the bleachers on opening day, and then 2 days later you can sit there for $20
  10. I don't know, with the number of tourists that come in the summer months, I think it is possible to make money reselling Cubs tickets. What it has cut out is the small time people that try to make money buying tickets just for the extra income. The scalpers who pretty much make a living doing this kind of stuff can still make money, they just can't make as much, and they have to put a lot more effort into it.
  11. $72 is insane. I hate bitching about ticket prices in general, but that is just way too much. I mostly can't stand the shady way they raise ticket prices. One year they tripled the number of top tier games, and cut the value dates almost in half. I think there are only 6 or 8 of those now. But that doesn't stop them from bragging about how tickets at Wrigley are as low as $14 (the price of a terrace reserve ticket 8 years ago). And then that whole issue with the "we aren't raising ticket prices, we're just seperating the face value of the ticket from the amusement tax" thing, where the face value is the same but you are actually paying more. Clever Anyways, I understand the need for it all, and I am all for whatever needs to be done to win the World Series. I just like to complain.
  12. continuing my 5 minute monopoly of this thread, I can also pull up tickets to the Friday White Sox game, which is completely unheard of. Want to take you and 18 friends to a weekend Cubs/Cardinals game? You can do that right now. Of course who the [expletive] wants to spend $72 to sit in the [expletive] bleachers, when 3 years ago I could have paid $40.
  13. I just pulled up 19 bleacher tickets to Opening Day with no problems at all. If you don't like bleachers, I pulled up 10 consecutive seats in the 400 level as well.
  14. If Vance [expletive] Nickelson has not bought any Cubs tickets 7 hours after they went on sale, either he's dead or the Cubs are in trouble.
  15. Si, I remember back when we were excited for baseball and this thread would be the highlight of the spring. Oh well. The board is more or less a clubhouse for our long time posters anyways. I don't think our recognition among the Cubs internet community is anything near where it was 3 years ago. I'd guess Tim could probably confirm by looking at new registrants from 2005 to now.
  16. damn. just get in the playoffs and we'll see what happens from there.
  17. Well i picked up 2 relatively cheap ($43) seats to opening day. that's all I really wanted for certain.
  18. thanks for the info guys, that's good to know.
  19. havent moved up 1 spot in this line. im 3rd from the front thing. wtf
  20. Pretty bad day for Boston I have to say
  21. Blackhawks tied for the 5th SEED! (also tied for 10th place), The 5th place tie will be momentarily because the Kings and Wild are playing right now. But the good news is one of them will lose. I hope its a regulation loss. I'm probably more excited about this win than the Bulls win.
  22. Homefully Kosuke can win the RF job but I'm not counting on it. Fukudome Castro Pena Ramirez Soto Soriano Byrd DeWitt would be a respectable batting order. The Cubs would probably switch Soriano and Byrd though.
  23. They have to cut corners somewhere if they're going to be able to afford Pujols. And the team bar tab And it's been a few years, so probably funeral costs as well. Did I go too far?
  24. I don't think anyone actually cares about it (even imb and ssr).
  25. yea, i basically agree. i'll always love him and i'll never forget the arizona comeback (still the most amazing sporting event i've ever experienced), but about a year ago i started losing a little respect for his character. his proclamation that he was the best PG in the NBA (which was true at the time, but still), the calling out of the front office for trading ronnie brewer, and now this. he kinda seems like a dick. also his haircut is unfortunate. just another reason that rose is the man. the most controversial thing derrick has ever done was eat to many gummy bears Or have someone else take his SATs for him. But the gummy bears might be worse
