  1. Bulls are always there to remind you that they are a pointless aimless franchise nowhere close to being relevant. This is why I long ago stopped watching games or putting too much emotional energy into the franchise. They are so lost it would take a miracle to become relevant again.
  2. Nah I don’t even care about the standings. I don’t think I’ve looked at them once this year. Win and everything will take care of itself
  3. Its hilarious that the Bulls apparently flew out a bunch of execs to Miami to attend the game. Kind of pathetic that they would view an 8th place play-in game with that type of importance, but even funnier that they are watching their team get beat down.
  4. Careful, word is going to travel over to the Brewer board
  5. Wish he had a little of a stronger finish. I think he only had 1 goal in his last 14 games or so, but overall I think he was as advertised and will only get better. Put up more PPG than Kane did his rookie year and Kane was a year older.
  6. I don't think he's on the 40 man since he signed a minor league deal. Plus I don't think he's reported anywhere yet. edit: Nevermind, he's on Iowa's roster but don't think he's appeared in a game yet
  7. Oh yeah good point. But he can only be used in 1 game right (not that it matters that much)
  8. have a feeling Brewer is on his way back to Iowa tonight. Not necessarily because he did terrible but with the DH tomorrow they gave him the extra inning because they likely didn't expect him to be involved tomorrow. Maybe I'm wrong because I'm not even sure who they'd call up since Palencia, Little and Cuas I don't think can be called up unless there's an injury, which just leaves Arias on the 40, who is currently in AA
  9. Blah, it almost certainly won't matter but always hate when the Cubs cant bringing a runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs.
  10. Morel is definitely one of the streakier Cubs hitters in recent years. He looked so damn good to start the season.
  11. Keegan continuing to throw balls and occasionally getting the Marlins to swing at them. 2 of them swung at ball 4, the next one finally held up for a walk.
  12. you are correct. 97.1 exit velo, .170 xBA, HR in 1/30 ballparks. Amaya's double the previous inning is a HR in 9/30 parks
  13. Damn, went from being concerned we'd strand the bases loaded with 0 outs to 4 runs scored just like that! Good horsefeathers Miggy
  14. Cooper getting it done with 2 strikes yet again (did it the other night with the bases loaded prior to Happ's grand slam)
  15. I dont understand why they are all the sudden terrible. I know they got super lucky last year with the 1 run record but thought they were still a fairly decent team.
  16. Back to the aforementioned Brown, he should be available as soon as tomorrow to give the Cubs multiple innings of relief if necessary. I would assume they'll want to hold him until Sunday though as protection for a potential Hendricks short outing after a DH
  17. Solid start for the offense. Morel though is still in quite the funk, now 1 for his last 27 with 10 K (and 2 BB) over that span.
  18. Unless they are going with a 6 man rotation for the time being, the reported probables for this weekend are Taillon, Assad, Imanaga, Hendricks and I'm assuming Wicks is the 5th starter. With the off day Monday, the Cubs don't have to use a 6th starter because of the DH tomorrow so no I don't think anyone has explicitly said Brown is out of the rotation but the writing seems on the wall for now.
  19. Well as I said, to keep him stretched out. He's already been removed from the rotation, that's been decided. But Hendricks has to be on a short leash at this point and you'd think Brown would be next in line to go back to the rotation should Hendricks continue to falter. Thus wanting to keep him stretched out. I think he can be useful for us out of the pen though as a multi-inning guy for now, I was just speculating on potential players to send down for Taillon
  20. Pretty sure that was only the COVID season and thank god edit: nevermind it was also 2021. Stupid rule though
  21. I was just thinking about the fact that so far only 9 of our 18 games have been played at what I'd consider a reasonable time. The rest of the games have either been played during work hours or late west coast start times. Luckily 11 of our next 13 are being played at watchable times.
  22. I'll admit that I enjoyed watching last night's game and the Raptors win last year but overall it hasn't really changed my excitement or interest in the last 2 Bulls seasons. At the end of the day they're the 9th or 10th best team in the east and playing for the right to be demolished by the Celtics. Having success in the play-in round will continue to enable AKME to justify their lack of direction for the franchise. But for 2 hours last night, I was able to just enjoy Bulls basketball which is something I rarely do these days as I usually only watch fragments of games if at all and my view of anything Bulls related is shrouded by a black cloud of negativity due to the overall state of the franchise. I don't think there should be a play-in round but since there is, I'll go with the flow.
