  1. From that article....Vancouver's ranks this season: Goals scored: 1st Goals allowed: 1st Power Play: 1st Penalty Kill: 2nd Hawks: Goals scored: 4th Goals allowed: 12th Power play: 4th Penalty Kill: 25th (do we miss Sopel that much??)
  2. lol wow. Scott Burnside of ESPN.com picks the Hawks in 7. Although he admits that he is sticking with this preseason prediction of the Hawks returning to the SCF. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2011/columns/story?columnist=burnside_scott&id=6324854
  3. Even with how stretched out the NBA makes their first rounds, there is no way they give 3 off days between games 1 and 2. I don't think they ever do that even when traveling. It will be Saturday/Monday and the UC will be rocking 4 straight days I'm guessing the series will be something like: Saturday - Monday - Thursday - Saturday - Tuesday - Thursday - Saturday/Sunday
  4. Not only that but everyone kinda knew that the Hawks were gonna have to shed salary and that last year was probably their best chance for the next couple of years. So there was a lot of pressure all the way up until they won the thing.
  5. Sweet...his career 4.93 ERA is just what we need for this team.
  6. The biggest injury is to Manny Malhotra. He's been out since mid-march. I don't think he'll be able to play this series but I'm not sure.
  7. Game 1 - @ Vancouver Wednesday 4/13 at 9PM CST Game 2 - @ Vancouver Friday 4/15 at 9PM CST Game 3 - @ Chicago Sunday 4/17 at 7PM CST Game 4 - @ Chicago Tuesday 4/19 at 7:30 PM CST Game 5 - @ Vancouver Thursday 4/21 at 9PM CST Game 6 - @ Chicago Sunday 4/24 at 7PM CST Game 7 - @ Vancouver Tuesday 4/26 TBD
  8. Rumor is game 1 will be Wednesday night at 9pm cst
  9. Haha before this game, Minnesota was 0-3 against Dallas and outscored 12-3 in the 3 games. The Wild's starting goalie (Theodore) was 3-11-4 lifetime against the Stars with a .886 save percentage.
  10. The playoff schedules will be announced in about a half hour (9pm CST) on the NHL network
  11. Probably not since Buff was a big piece as to why we frustrated lu so much the last two years. Bolland was also a big threat and who knows if he plays. Versteeg also had some big goals. Our scoring depth won that series for us and we simply don't have that this year. That said, the only chance we have relies on our mental edge over them. If we could somehow take game 1 I could see some serious panic from Vancouver. Their fan base seems to have that "here we go again" feel to it similar to cubs fans. That shouldn't necessarily translate to the players but who knows.
  12. As long as I get some ketchup to go with it! I don't even care. I'm just so happy. Completely changed my mood.
  13. Somewhere in Vancouver, Roberto Luongo just broke out in sweat.
  14. PLAYOFFFS!!!! THANK GOD!!!!!! IM SO HAPPY!!!!!
  15. If we get in I won't care at all about the loss today. It will feel like we won. The only shitty thing is playing Vancouver as opposed to Anaheim.
  16. 3-3 after 2 is better than 4-1 or something. We have a fighting chance.
  17. Nice 2-2. Keep it that way for the next 37 mins please.
  18. At this point it looks like Miami is going to be the toughest barrier to the finals. Bulls were 3-0 against them but had to have been by a combined 10 points. Not saying that I don't think we can win, just that it'll be tough. Boston looks awful.
  19. At least I don't have to balance bulls and Blackhawks games on the same day.
  20. !! They need to play chelsea dagger when the wild score.
  21. Here we go. I'm such a sucker. I know Dallas is going to win but I just can't give up that little bit of hope. I gotta stop myself from thinking how awesome it would be to take it to Vancouver and their pushover goalie. I can tell you who Vancouver is rooting for tonight and its not Minnesota
  22. 1 out of 3 is NOT a good series. Sure but it was almost 2/3. Play this way most series and you win 2/3, so I'm not all that upset. It's a long ass season so all I'm really worried about right now is overall decent play. Almost means nothing in the standings. I agree. But in 162 game season, there is a million opportunities to make up for a blown game or whatever. I thought the Cubs were a 75-80 win team going into this season but what I am seeing is consistent hitting (other than last night), acceptable starting pitching, and we'd be 6-3 if i weren't for our strong back end of the pen blowing 2 games. The 8th and 9th guys arent going to blow 2 out of every 9 games. So to me, this is a positive start for the season, if not frustrating of course. But starting 4-5 doesnt take you out of any playoff race at all. Starting 9-0 doesn't guarantee you a playoff spot. I'm just trying to glass half full it because overall I see a lot of good things.

  24. What a fine day in Chicago sports. Only win the most meaningless of the 3 games. Good series, but poor way to finish it. Just win 2/3 next series and we'll be fine.
