I don't know where this whole thought process comes from that Dallas is guaranteed their last 6 points. This a team that has won 8 games since February 1. Yeah, their schedule (vs Colorado, @ Colroado, @ Minnesota) is easy, but it's not automatic. Not 6 more. I said the Hawks need 3 more points to have a shot because Dallas is almost definitely going to get 4 more points in their last 3 games. If they get 4 more points we need 3 to win outright, or 2 points to tie Dallas. And if we are tied, its gonna depend on how Chicago and Dallas get their remaining points. If Dallas gets 2 regulation wins, and Chicago gets 2 SOL, then Dallas gets the playoff spot. If they tie in regulation wins, it goes to points earned H2H, and the Blackhawks immediately lose that one. So realistically, the Hawks probably need to end up with more points than Dallas to make the playoffs. Tonight is a huge game because its the most winnable game left. If the Hawks want to make the playoffs, they should probably get a regulation victory tonight. Also, a win tonight all but eliminates Calgary from consideration. Hawks are 2 points up and a game in hand. If they win tonight, its impossible for Calgary to pass us in points, and we have the tiebreaker locked down between us whether or not the 2 points come in regulation or OT or SO.
