  1. I do feel pretty confident that we will take 1 in Miami. The goal at this point should be to win 1 of the 2. Doesn't matter which one, but I think Game 3 is our better chance.
  2. No but maybe the 1 and 4 for D12
  3. Charles Barkley was on ESPN1000 yesterday and they were asking him dumb questions like "would you say that Derrick Rose is already the 2nd best Bull of all time?" and "Do you think we can mention Rose in the same convo as MJ yet?" To his credit, Charles was able to keep his poise and not slap Waddle and Silvy.
  4. And we have a longer wait between games 2 and 3. *sigh* Yay for 2 games in 8 days.
  5. The point is, only stupid people would claim a conspiracy either way. A couple of years ago during the pre-lottery show, they showed a mock of the ping pong ball drawing system works and it was actually pretty dull. Especially because there are like 1000 different combos for the worst teams so even when they announce the numbers it takes a second to figure out who actually won. I like the current format. If we did it the other way, we wouldnt have the scenarios where a team is supposed to be called at a certain spot and isn't, meaning they've moved into the top 3. And the NBA's sponsors probably prefer that commercial betwee 13-4 and the top 3. It makes for good tv. I enjoyed greatly running to real GM during that commercial break and speculating in a panic about what pick the bulls were gonna get. I guess your system wouldnt be all that worse. I just see no problem with the current system. And if Barack isn't going to feed the conspiracy theorists by releasing Osama's photo, then I don't see why the NBA has to cater to them in this situation.
  6. This will surely lead the Bulls to victory. I love it when MJ openly roots for the Bulls. Since he's an owner of another team, it might not happen tonight. But it would still be sweet to see. Do you think anyone would be mad if MJ openly rooted for a team he won 6 titles with if they werent playing the team he currently owns? I doubt it.
  7. Even if they televised that thing live people would still find a way to claim its rigged. And the lottery used to be shown live back when every non playoff team had an equal shot at getting number one. Stern used to pull envelopes out of a wheel thing. That's how the "frozen envelope" conspiracy started with the Knicks and Ewing.
  8. by sidekick do you mean "guy who averaged more points, rebounds and assists per game than dwyane wade"? also i love the leap of logic here. lebron went from probably being the best player in the league last year, when his surrounding cast sucked, to not being the best player in the league this year because he has another great player on his team. It's still not his team. I know that flies in the face of every metric and stat, etc., but the reality is that the Heat are Wade's team. LeBron's choice to play there was almost universally panned by every former NBA superstar, all saying that they would never have tried to piggyback onto another star's team. Just judging by the way the Miami fans, media, broadcasters, etc act, I believe it's LeBrons team. I thought going into it that Miami fans would definitely love Wade more than LeBron due to his history with the team and bringing them a title and all. But I've noticed the opposite...they all seem to naturally defer to LeBron as "the guy". Just my observation, which could be wrong to a degree.
  9. That was only a 2 gamer against the Reds?
  10. Wow. Stern is gonna fine the [expletive] out of him. KAAAAAHHHHHHNNNNNN. That man is awesomely insane.
  11. Meh, they had a 9 day layoff so they probably weren't playing to the fullest of their abilities. I missed most of the game though but I'm speculating. Both teams will make adjustments and play differently so I don't put much stock into how close the game was...the important thing is they won.
  12. NSBB didnt want Ryno to be manager because they didn't want a fundamentally sound team? Huh?
  13. There's really no point. They pretty much hired Quade because I don't think they really believed that they had a strong chance of competing this year, and figured it would be ok to see if Quade had some magic in him, and in the meantime not have to pay the manager big bucks like they have for the last 8 years. If they were to fire him 2 months into his first season, no matter how dumb he's been or how bad the team has played, it just tells any potential manager 'dont come to Chicago' because a) they don't give their managers any time to prove their worth and b) their organization has absolutely no one competent in charge if they are hiring managers and then firing them 2 months later.
  14. I've been waiting for this Boston series for at least 6 years, and now that its hear I doubt I'll watch more than an inning or two. This team just has nothing going for it.
  15. Wait for another team to make horrific errors?
  16. Yessir. It was he and Neifi teaming up for that particular defensive gem. Against Atlanta, if I'm not mistaken. Yup http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200605260.shtml I guess there was an error involved. Maybe it has to be considered an error because there is no way 2 runs should score on a sac fly without [expletive] up.
  17. Kerry Wood is throwing batting practice, but in reality this was a team effort. Missed two cutoff men?
  18. This is turning into 2006. In 2006, we allowed 2 runs to score on a sacrifice fly, and also allowed 2 runs to score on a sacrifice bunt. The later was an error, but the sac fly was just whoever the RF was (i forget) spacing out.
  19. Which game tying multiple run error are you referring to? OK I know you meant the first, I just wanted to ask that question.
  20. holy [expletive] thats 5 runs scored on 2 errors tonight Will the reds be the first team in baseball history to score 5 runs and not have a single RBI?
  21. I heard someone say something about acquiring Eric Bledsoe had something to do with it but I cant find the whole story.
  22. So basically God tried to again screw Cleveland by giving them the 4th pick when they had the 2nd best odds. But luckily the Cavs went up against a force of bad luck much worse than Cleveland, the Clippers. I didn't realize a unprotected 1st was included in that trade. What a horrible trade.
  23. They could hypothetically land the 1 and 2 pick. At least it would get them something. I love how Irving plays like 5 games in freshman year and is gonna probably be a top 3 pick.
  24. Makes sense. He wasn't getting ABs as it is. He'll be back when Fukudome goes on his annual June swoon.
  25. Wait, what? He's survived far, far worse than this one game. No I meant this season. This is 2005. He survived 2006 The point is, how many shitty season can he survive.
