  1. Probably Neris but I wouldn’t hate Almonte with how he’s pitched recently
  2. Cubs nursing an 8th inning lead again. Please don’t do this again Cubs
  3. Cubs not interested in helping out their pitchers with more offense
  4. Trey Henderson (17.5 sacks last season) is requesting a trade from the Bengals. I doubt we could get involved with just 3 tradable picks (not including 1.1), but maybe if he keeps his demand through training camp we could get involved.
  5. sorry not sorry
  6. Well the Bears almost certainly have a much bigger economic impact to the city than the Sox do. But on the flip side, the Bears used taxpayer funds to build/renovate Soldier Field roughly 20 years ago while the Sox were patient and waited a whole 35 years before holding their hands out. If the state says no to the Bears, they will probably go back to Arlington Heights and build there. They are zero threat to leaving the metro area while the Sox could easily bolt if they are told no.
  7. Another reason to believe its a hairline fracture which would heal faster. Reading online it would take 6-8 weeks for a hairline fracture to heal, so maybe we'd have everyone except Merryweather back by late June? Of course it may take some time to get right again after being out so long so maybe we start rolling by mid-July? Funny because the 2023 Cubs were 14-10 through their first 24 (2024 Cubs are 14-9 through first 23) then played an absolutely abysmal May after Bellinger got hurt for a month to spiral down the standings, only to recover by late June and start to roll in July. Unfortunately the May swoon put us on a path where we missed the playoffs by 1 game.
  8. Cubs now have 16 fWAR from last year on the IL between Steele, Bellinger, Seiya, Merryweather and Hendricks. If you want to cut out Hendricks, still looking at 13.1 fWAR
  9. The fact that the X-Rays missed it and a CT scan picked it up makes me wonder if its a very small fracture thus might be able to heal quicker? Or am I just making things up to remain optimistic?
  10. I hope we get Seiya back by June
  11. So wait, the new stadium is only going to have a 65,000 capacity? So they recognized the need to not have the smallest stadium in the NFL and plan to spend $4.6 billion to build....the second smallest stadium in the NFL. Wonderful. You need a 70,000 minimum to host the Super Bowl. Sounds like they will have SRO to increase capacity but wtf.
  12. The stadium looks ok I guess. I wasn't too impressed with the exterior design, but inside looks cool even if its similar to the Vikings and Vegas stadiums. Also LOL at Warren touting that the stadium can host World Cups in the future. Great that will be fun in the 2070s or whenever the next US world cup is after being awarded 2 in the last 32 years.
  13. Completely agree. The only time I've had the Saturday draft on is when its on in the background when doing something else. Though with so many Michigan guys likely to be drafted in the later rounds I'll be paying a little more attention to it this year.
  14. Yeah I don't think this necessarily changes much. I'm sure Cunningham still wants to run his own team at some point. If the right team offers him a GM role he'll still leave. The Bears can give him money but they cant give him a GM title unless Poles gets fired or promoted to a senior executive like role which isnt happening anytime soon.
  15. I kind of think so too. I have no idea why they are pursuing this plan
  16. Think its been like this since 2010ish. I hate how they stretch it out over 3 days though. Should be 1st and 2nd on the first day, the other 5 rounds on the second day. Either way, I'm just happy its finally here. The gap between the Super Bowl and the draft is way too long for me...
  17. its all good, the state of Illinois is in fantastic financial shape so we're all happy to pay. But seriously, I'm assuming a big fight is ahead and this is going to have to be voted on in November? I'm not looking forward to all the discourse about this.
  18. We shouldnt have made fun of the Bears stadium woes. Now we're on the hook for $2.3b
  19. The only thing that gives me hope is that they were once very creative. Pretty much the only time they actually did something, they did it pretty well. But I get it, it’s hard to believe they will suddenly be ok with giving up their guaranteed spot in the play-in for something different. I’m not letting them suck me into believing they will actually try to improve the basketball team that they run this offseason but it’s in the realm of possibility.
