  1. blah, 1 out of 3. We're obviously going nowhere this year, but it would be nice to occasionally win series against the teams I hate.
  2. fair enough, though I hope I was not one of those Wings fans. I am actually pretty content with just making it to 7 games. For 2 yrs I had been frustrated because the Sharks were not better then the Wings, but somehow had won 7 of 8 playoff games. Now that the Wings have shown they are as good I am okay if they fall at this point. Honestly, the best thing about Detroit winning game 7 would be that the Sharks Diving Team would lose. No not at all. You are a very respectable Wings fan. Its just I want my rival to lose whenever possible you know? It wouldnt be the worst thing in the world if the sharks lost. Its always funny when that happens.
  3. If they were that easily rattled they probably wouldn't have won an overtime game 4 after the Celtics had all the momentum. I don't think that's true and I definitely don't think the Celtics had all the momentum. They were clearly flustered after game 3 and were struggling in game 4. To their credit, they pulled it out, which like I said is something they've improved on since the middle of the regular season (finishing in close games)
  4. Considering we were the only chance to beat the Heat, I wouldn't be taking pleasure in this if I was you. The Celtics were the only team in the playoffs that could beat Miami?????? Given that the Heat are playing their best basketball right now, yes, the Celtics probably had the best shot (if healthy) of the east teams of taking down a Heat team firing on all cylinders. Look, I love the Bulls, and I hope to God that they pull this off and my prediction of them losing in 5-6 games is wrong, but I'm worried that the Bulls peaked too early and now they're facing a team peaking at the right time. Maybe the Heat are playing their best basketball right now, but I am not overly impressed with their play right now. Certainly they righted a lot of the issues they had beating good teams and winning close games that hurt them earlier in the year, but I still think a team with the right matchups can beat them in a series. They definitely didn't impress me in that Philly series, and given the way the Celtics ended the season this year it's hard to say for certain that the Celtics were playing like a 55 win team when they played the Heat. I also think that mentally they are not overly tough and can be rattled. Look at game 3 of the Celtics series. They lost the game and Bosh is storming out of his postgame interview, LeBron is calling reporters [expletive] under his breath, Bosh the next day said his nerves got the best of him in the game and caused his poor play. Maybe it's not a big deal, but who knows. I'm not saying the Bulls or Hawks will beat Miami, the Bulls in particular have played too poorly in the playoffs to predict they can beat Miami in a 7 game series. But if the Bulls advance and can knock off Miami in game 1 at home, I think it could rattle Miami enough to eventually win the series.
  5. It would be more logical to save money and bring up Jay Jackson, someone with a future with this team. Unless there's nobody quite ready right now and they don't want to start the FA clock on a guy with an actual future. Jay's been having some real struggles for a while and probably isn't ready to step in and pitch well yet. I agree with you in part, but isn't 900K a lot of money for a guy to make 2-3 starts? I understand he adds pitcing depth afterword, but for that money, is he that much better than even Ramon Ortiz? It probably wouldnt even be in the top 30 worst wastes of money in the Jim Hendry era.
  6. Since when have the Cubs been associated with logic?
  7. Haha, funny stuff. I wasn't following the game at all and I was out walking my dogs down Addison walking towards the park. This was around 10:30 and I knew there was a rain delay so the game shouldnt have been even close to over yet, but I kept seeing tons of Cardinal fans, almost exclusively, walking the opposite direction of the park. I thought it was strange so I checked the score and saw that it was 10-1 Cubs. Haha stupid Cardinals fans.
  8. Who said they don't want Davis to start instead of Russell? People are saying that they hope Cashner doesn't lose his rotation spot because of Davis.
  9. Should the Bulls get past Atlanta, I hope they watch that to get them fired up. Miami acted like the series against the Celtics was the NBA Finals.
  10. The Celtics radio announcer was hilarious at the end of the game. He was acting as if the Heat just won the title already. He kept saying (in his words) "LeBron James has the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders. After years and years, LeBron has finally gotten past the Celtics." He also compared LeBron getting past the Celtics to the Bulls getting past the Pistons. Finally he said something like "Millions criticized him for his decision last summer, but he has proven that he made the right choice." Lets start out with the fact that LeBron has faced the Celtics in a playoff series once before last season. Acting like the Celtics have been a huge road block for LeBron his entire career is hilariously dumb. Then to suggest that by getting to the conference finals, LeBron has gotten over the hump and is now a winner, is hilarious since this will be the third time he's gotten to the conference finals in his career and won the conference finals once. Good stuff Celtics dude.
  11. They'd better put conference finals tickets on sale quickly if they were going to hold a basketball game on Sunday potentially.
  12. Thats funny...the Bulls could go all the way to the NBA Finals without playing 1 game on network TV (ABC)
  13. Indeed. I'm sure EJ and sneakypower are too. That's sad. The Traylor/Bullock/Ward/Conlan/Baston UM team was my favorite UM team even if they never officially "played" for UM. Winning the inagural Big Ten tourney was the highlight of my Michigan basketball experience until they made the Tourney again 11 years later.
  14. Based on the last 2 years, I'm sure they would wait until Wednesday most likely. It doesn't seem like the NBA wants the conference Finals to start on the same day as another series has game 7, like they do between round 1 and round 2. 2010: ECF: Orlando finished their sweep of Atlanta on a Monday, and Boston finished their series on a Thursday, and they ended up playing Game 1 on that following Sunday. 2 days of rest for Boston and 5 for Orlando. WCF: The Lakers swept their series, which ended on a Monday, and Phoenix swept their series and it ended the day before on a Sunday. Based on the fact that all conference finals ended on Thursday, they could have easily made the WCF start on a Saturday or even a double header on Sunday, but they made both teams wait over a week until they started the following Monday. 6 days of rest for LA and 7 for Phoenix. 2009: ECF: Cleveland swept their series against Atlanta and the series ended on a Monday. Orlando had to play 7 games to get by Boston and their series ended on a Sunday. They ended up playing game 1 the next Wednesday. Orlando had 9 days off between games, and Boston had 2. WCF: The Lakers beat the Rockets in 7 games, with the series ending on Sunday. The Nuggets took care of the Mavs in 5 games and their series ended on a Wednesday. Their series started on the next Tuesday, giving LA 1 day of rest and Denver 5 days. Based on how things look now, the earliest all series could be done is Friday. Based on this situation, I find it hard to believe they rush the ECF to start Sunday, but who knows. If the either the Hawks or Celtics win or OKC/Memphis goes 7, then obviously it looks like the CF would start on Wednesday.
  15. Sorry go Sharks. I know too many Red Wings fans that rubbed in this mediocre Hawks season in my face to even consider cheering for them. I want them to feel the pain of coming back from 3-0 to 3-3 and then losing.
  16. He's gotta be the best Hawk in the series. Every other Hawk gas been very inconsistent from game to game. Correct me if I'm wrong but Teague has been solid every game in the series.
  17. The Cubs have 1 player in their lineup tonight, including Soto and Hill with a SLG% over .419, and only 2 above .390. Sadly this is close to our regular lineup. Oh and that player with the 2nd highest SLG in the lineup? Darwin Barney of course.
  18. Not liking what I'm seeing from OKC. They don't look like a team that is ready to win the title. I'm an idiot though so we'll see.
  19. How can you shoot that 3 Conley? Bad shot selection probably going to cost them the game.
  20. I agree with Bogut instead of Noah, but the Bulls should have one guy in there...it should have been Deng but I'll take Noah. The craziest thing is Rose was 2 votes from being 2nd team all defense.
