  1. Lovie doesn't seem too confident in the OLine. When asked whether the Bears line will be better than last time in NY, he said something like "We believe we have it corrected, but we'll see tonight"
  2. Weird. Most people have Rose in the 6-10 range, which I am typically fine with. I am a huge Rose homer but I have a hard time putting him ahead of Durant, but my homer kicks in when I acknowledge he could potentially have a higher ceiling than the level Durant is playing at now. So does Durant I definitely agree.

  4. After 40 consecutive starts.... he's earned a day off, no? If Castro weren't such a lazy player being led by a bunch of even lazier players, the goal would be to earn a 41st consecutive start. Even with tonight's day off, Starlin is on a pace to start 157 games this season. Lazy, indeed !! Cal Ripken played every inning for like 7 consecutive years, setting the standard for all baseball players who aren't lazy like Castro and Aramis. I bet Aramis came in and said 'mang, I dont feel like playing today, i didnt get enough sleep last night' and Castro said "ohh....yeah me too' and then they played rock paper scissors to see who would sit today, but ramirez got tired of it after 2 rounds so he said castro could just have the day off.
  5. I heard on one of the sports talk stations that if the line struggles tonight Tice and Martz will be considering looking outside the organization for help. Apparently, they were privately really frustrated with the performance despite the limited practice time and offseason reshuffling.
  6. I'll likely end up getting tickets to that one too. Can't beat Saturday night Blues-Hawks games. Are Blues tickets significantly cheaper than Hawks tickets? I was thinking about doing a blackhawks road trip this winter. My first thought was Minnesota or Columbus, but St. Louis might be better for the rivalry that Blues fans have with us and we sometimes reciprocate.
  7. I didn't see the game last night but in that video Valentine was talking about a bad throw he made earlier in the inning. That could have been the reason why he looked like that. He probably figured/hoped that no one noticed his back to the batter play. Or that could have been why. But it certainly looked like he was down and in deep thought about something he did earlier in the inning/game. He didn't even realize that a pitch had been made until after the catcher already caught it.
  8. Wow, now finally we can put that into some perspective. Knox had 26 passes of over 20 yards thrown his way last year. 11 were receptions, 8 were incomplete, and 7 were interceptions. Wow.
  9. The only 4 that I have any angst about not signing from that list are Holmes, Burress, Floyd, and probably Rice. Of those 4, Rice signed a huge deal that I wouldn't have been thrilled with for the Bears, Holmes almost immediately resigned with his current team, and although I wanted Burress more than most even, I can understand the Bears not wanting to pursue him after being out of the league for 2 years. Don't really have a reason why we shouldnt have gone after Floyd though. The thing is, the Roy Williams signing might have been a shrewd move if we didn't have a lot of money to play with this year because there is a high upside for him, as we've seen in Detroit. But the fact that the Bears had, and still have, a crap load of money to operate with leaves us all extremely frustrated that its just sitting there unused.
  10. Picked up 2nd row seats right next to the hawks bench for the 2nd game of the year against Winnipeg. Pretty pumped about that as I haven't sat that close in years (the last time was at Chicago Stadium where I sat on the glass). Also picked up 300 level seats to that Saturday game against the Bruins and the 12/30 Wings game. Pretty happy with that.
  11. Yep, seemingly once they pointed it out and went with the picture in picture they were going to pick on anything they could to develop the storyline. Having his back to the plate was pretty damn inexcusable. How often do you think that happens though? I am assuming not very often because it would have already been identified and fixed immediately with a benching or some other discipline. I'm not saying its ok that he did that, because its not, but I doubt its an ongoing issue, as I'm sure Castro knows he's not going to play long in the bigs if his back is to the batter while a pitch is thrown. That said, I can understand if one feels that Castro absent mindedly doing that is a sign that his head is not in the game at all times, because that is the kind of mistake that should simply never happen.
  12. If Aramis Ramirez wasn't setting an example with his extreme laziness, Castro wouldn't be pulling this bush league crap.
  13. I guess I just dont see how eating sunflower seeds on the field has anything to do with anything.
  14. Im sure he's likely overreacting although Quades response is rather strange.
  15. Posting from Tapatalk. Great stuff. Now I can surf this and RealGM from here. Screw Safari!
  16. Not bad. $17 mil a year is a lot but he's young and to the best of my knowledge doesn't have injury issues. Plus 5 years is probably the perfect number of years for a pitcher.
  17. I heard that Crane Kenney was behind 9/11 and the Great Potato Famine. Not Kenney alone. Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Zambrano helped him.
  18. Can we take Rothschild back too?
  19. I dunno what I am supposed to take from that tweet. "Possible market for Prince" Is this based on any sort of info or is Buster just speculating?
  20. Especially when they're driving a stake through the heart of the Cards Yeah. But just in general they've been more watchable lately. It helps that theyve been winning of course. I've probably watched more Cubs baseball in the last 3 weeks than the previous 4 months combined
  21. That would be a huge [expletive] story if Theo left the Red Sox to come to the Cubs. I guess he leave the Red Sox for a couple of days a few years ago so its not impossible.
  22. This is exactly what I would do! I hate the White Sox so much and am so jealous of their WS in 2006, I wouldn't even interview Hahn. I would love a WS for the Cubs in my lifetime, but deep down inside would feel that it took a White Sox front office guy to get the Cubs to the promised land. Don't think I could live knowing that! Would it help to know that the White Sox didnt win the World Series in 2006? OK would it help to know that Hahn is a diehard Cub fan, grew up one, and still roots for the Cubs when they arent playing the White Sox (and probably would root for the Cubs over the White Sox but can't admit that), and because of this story it would be completely forgotten almost immediately that he had a tie to the White Sox?
  23. I'm sorry, but I'm actually starting to enjoy this team.
