  1. This isnt the first time that Boston's media fucked things up for them, and it won't be the last. That is what makes Boston's run of success in the last 10 years so astounding. How did they manage to keep the dogs at bay so that the Pats could have 3 titles, the Red Sox 2 and the Celtics and Bruins each one without [expletive] up at least a couple of those? The Boston media is like Plaxico Burress with a machine gun.
  2. I think Ricketts was following the BRob and Peavy debacles, and decided its fun to be on this side of the equation so is just toying with us for laughs.
  3. It's like 10AM. There's still plenty of time for the drama to begin.
  4. It does. I'm pretty sure they dropped that game to increase their chances of clinching at home in game 6
  5. Both goalies tonight: http://public-domain.zorger.com/more-nonsense/cartoon-man-standing-on-his-head.gif
  6. that was awesome. TY Hossa. Hawks win! I love hockey
  7. I think our bitching about the Cardinals worked.
  8. one of the better saves you'll see
  9. They have looked pretty impressive haven't they? They were decent 2 years ago and the first half of last year but collapsed in the second half last year. I honestly don't know enough about them to say if there are certain moves they made that have made them better this year.
  10. Also the worst part is the Cajun Connection could both have WS rings by next week.
  11. It pisses me off that the Cardinals make winning the World Series so damn easy and when the Cubs make it we can hardly score a run much less win a game. This Cardinals team is completely unremarkable and somehow they are 6 outs from putting a strangle hold on the series. They sign a 35 year old has been that sat on the Yankees bench last offseason and who most people think is washed up and suddenly he looks 26 again. Pujols is a fa after the season and is in a position to be a huge distraction for the team but instead it has no effect. He also has a seemingly bad wrist injury that tends to keep a player out for awhile and zaps their power for awhile when they return. He comes back much earlier than estimates suggest and hits for more power the second half of the season. Their closer [expletive] the bed the first week of the season and they plug someone in with little effect to the team. Their second ace doesn't throw a pitch all season etc. These little things that youd think would derail a Cubs season instead only seems to make them stronger. This isn't a pixie dust rant just a frustration post.
  12. I dunno, I think "Number 2" was a great name. I've been in a bad mood all day and this was the first thing that made me chuckle today for some reason.
  13. I dont know if I'd call Dallas small market but I agree that their fan base doesn't expand past the metro area. You'd think there'd be some national interest with St. Louis with Pujols there but I guess not.
  14. Another source mentioned that theo was on his way to chicago. I cant remember who that was though
  15. Here is my timeline of my knowledge of C.C. 2005 ------------------------2007--------------------------------2010------------------- Just some random poster........This dude works in my building!..........This guy has a hard on ---------------------------2011----------------------------------------Oct2011 for the tech thread............Weird everyone hates this guy..why?.....30 [expletive] PERCENT?!?
  16. I totally forgot about that. Damn, you got a good memory. Where did you work again? MSDSonline..on the 9th floor, same floor as the Sun Times. I used to bump into Jay Mariotti all the time. If you ever see him in person hes this short stubby dude. /name dropping Comcast is on the 1st floor. You see a ton of sports guys walking about. Yup, I actually chatted with Norm Van Lier (RIP) a few times because he would always go into the little convienence store on the ground floor. Our convos never got longer than "how about those Bulls/Who do you think will win tonight" but the last time I ever bumped into him, he recognized me and initiated the dialouge which was awesome.
  17. THEO IS MAGIC! NOT YET OFFICIALLY A CUB AND HE'S MAKING PROSPECTS MORE PATIENT HITTERS
  18. Ok? I'm sorry, is there something else we should be talking about in this thread?

  20. C.C. works (or worked) in the same building as I used to a couple of years ago. Literally 2 floors up. Never met him but I've probably walked past him at some point unknowingly.
  21. Pessimistic response: How will we f this up? Optimistic response: BOW TO YOUR NEW OVERLORDS OF BASEBALL AWESOMENESS
  22. Wait what? GM's have to pass physicals? They shouldn't have to. Hendry did his best work while in an ambulance because of heart issues.
  23. I hear he's been bragging about it all week.
  24. Still good to hear that everyone still feels confident that this is getting done.
