  1. Baseball continues to have the most random results of any playoffs. I imagine it makes it so hard to get excited about your team being in it until you get to the NLCS because their first 2 rounds are just so random. At least that’s how I’d feel if my team ever made it. It doesn’t matter how great your team is or how few holes you have, you can be out of it in the blink of an eye. As a neutral, this makes the playoffs much more exciting. But as lame as I know this sounds, I almost wish we went back to 8 team playoffs. Division winners and 1 WC per league. The results would still be random as hell but at least you can narrow down the randomness to only having the top 4 teams (more or less) participating in said randomness.
  2. I want the big events in Chicago. Super Bowl, Final Four, Wrestlemania, Big Ten championship game. I doubt I would attend any of those events but for civic pride. Stop giving all that horsefeathers to Indy or Minny. Otherwise Soldier Field is whatever. There's nothing detestable about it outside of getting there but I think we could do a lot better.
  3. I think at least where I live you aren't allowed to do headers in games until at least 14 years old. You are allowed to do headers in practice after 11 years old but not in actual games.
  4. Quite the tone setter of an opening period
  5. I'm not sure about the streaming networks like YouTube TV but I'm 99% sure Xfinity will have the channel at the very latest by the start of the Bulls regular season, but most likely sooner. This is the same crap as Marquee where they didn't agree with Comcast until the night before the season opener (during the COVID year). It would be an absolute disaster for the Bulls and Blackhawks to go very long without fans having access to games (its neat that they are broadcasting OTA but most people arent going to buy an antenna solely for this...maybe if the teams were any good but they're not)
  6. Here's a good stat: EPA/punt. It essentially accounts for how much expected win probability was added on a per punt basis (or maybe it's cumulative over the year, not sure). Tory Taylor has a net positive EPA for the year but is 20th in the league so far. So I'm not just posting this to prop up Taylor @NotKyle https://puntalytics.github.io/gallery.html I was trying to find stats because I remember reading that Taylor's game against the Rams was extremely good in this metric, but can't find it. Either way, I'm undecided on the elite vs not elite punter crap. I definitely think there are plain old bad punters though (see a familiar friend who is second from the bottom on that chart) and he's not one of them. Also possible that like any player there's an adjustment to the league as a rookie. We'll see
  7. Still cant believe that all of our divisional games come in the final 8 weeks of the season with the other 2 games being at SF and against Seattle. We can obviously win those games but they're gonna all be pretty tough
  8. Can’t wait to play Hockey Club! And it’s actually on tv since it’s an ESPN game. Seems like 85-90% of the Chicago market still does not have the new CHSN channel unless they invested in an HD antenna
  9. Let’s take a look at Steelers Reddit. Yep that seems familiar
  10. That’s fine. I’ll measure their performance today against how the Bears of recent years have looked against bad teams. For instance last year a home game against the Panthers resulted in an ugly ass 16-13 win
  11. NFC North is insane MIN 5-0 DET 3-1 CHI 3-2 GB 3-2 Gonna be a crazy tough division and the teams will probably beat each other up enough to affect wild card chances.
  12. Man that was awesome. Sad most of the fun was when I was out coaching my kids game but I’ll go back and watch Caleb cook. We got the right guy
  13. Man that was annoying. Snapped over daltons head into the end zone , somehow gets the ball and doesn’t get an intentional grounding and then they somehow get the 1st down by inches edit: and then we force a fumble and recover!
  14. Dammit DJ Moore drops wide open pss that would have put Caleb over 300 yards. Damn
  15. It’s probsbly too late to matter but getting a little lax out there for my liking
  16. Of course. Get it to the 1 inch line and now a penalty brings it to the 15
  17. I just spent 2 hours outside coaching my kids baseball game and it’s been brutally windy almost relentlessly all day
  18. Holy crap they are going empty all drive and just letting Caleb cook
  19. Im so confused, what happened with Kyle? Why is he back with a new user name?
  20. Pretty sure that’s a Red Sox forum. Soxtalk is a white Sox forum, talksox is Red Sox edit: holy crap they have a marlins forum too? They are talking over baseball forums.
  21. You hate to see it
  22. Twins with an epic regular season choke, Brewers with an epic playoff choke, Cubs continue to exist in purgatory. I blame Brock for it all
  23. Holy crap Alonso. What a hit
  24. Leave it to the Brewers to be the one team that breaks the sweep trend in the WC round. Hope Mets can finish them off tomorrow.
