  1. Like I said, it opens the door ever so slightly. He's acknowledging Chicago is a destination he might end up in, and dispelling the 2 popular reasons for Dwight to not go to Chicago. I read it pretty much the same as you but considering how interested GarPax is in getting Howard (and they are very very interested), they will take any sort of positive comment about Chicago.
  2. Read the last page or two.
  3. That tends to happen when you are a 30 year old big man with bad knees and contract security.
  4. Wow two near 30 year old big men, one with surgically repaired knees. How stupid the Magic are for turning that down! They're not gonna get much more for a few months of Dwight Howard. Plus everyone said that CP3 should be traded for a worse package to the Lakers. Andrew Bynum combined is a more valuable piece than those 2 combined. Heck, Noah might even be, although that's debatable. I disagree. Plus Bynum wasn't in that trade offer for Chris Paul. There just isnt gonna be many teams that can or will give up a lot to get a couple month of a guy. What does Chris Paul have to do with this? Explain to me how Amare is a more valuable trade piece than Andrew Bynum.
  5. Theo's don't exist in the nfl. There was no top notch candidate they didn't have a chance with. OK, I just don't like the idea of the Bears hiring someone that is well off the map in terms of GM candidates. Of course they could see something other teams don't see, but I don't necessarily trust Ted Phillips to find a diamond in the rough.
  6. I honestly wonder where this dude would rank on the Bears list if they had just fired Lovie when they fired Angelo. I could definitely be wrong and I'm willing to wait to find out, but my feeling right now is that keeping Lovie really hurt out chances of getting a great GM

  10. haters gonna hate i don't think any of us would gamble on the possibility that dwight is coming, but it's kind of stupid to totally rule it out. and it certainly doesn't hurt to hope. Yup I'd put the chances of the Bulls getting Howard somewhere around 5% or so but there is a chance based on everything I've read. Other than Howards desire to come here, the next biggest thing is that GarPax is very very interested in acquiring Howard and not just doing due diligence on him. As for Howards interest, he very slightly opened the door regarding coming to Chicago...its not insane to see things change 3-4 times over the course of the next couple of months. Heck in one 24 hour period, Howard demanded a trade, listed teams he would go to, added another team, and then mostly reminded his trade demand. But all that said its certainly highly unlikely that he comes here, but I don't pretend to know with certainty that he's not going to a particular place as if I knew what was really in Howard's mind.
  11. Very good point. And if they don't trade him, he's another great piece that could make up for the loss of Deng and Noah (via Howard)
  12. Maybe but after Bynum what do they have to offer? The Bulls can offer Noah who is slowly showing his all star form again. Not as good as Bynum and less upside but a solid piece. They can also offer Deng who is a borderline all star talent, is a great glue guy and does a lot of things well and is still relatively young. Finally, the one thing LA can't offer is the Bobcats pick we have, which is at worst going to be a top 12 pick, at best a high lottery pick. A very valuable piece to offer considering how far away the Bobcats look to be from contending. One player alone is not going to get the trade done, its doing to be who offers the best package. I don't think the Magic will care if Howard wants to play for the Lakers or not, they will trade him to the Bulls if GarPax is willing to gamble. That's the thing its a gamble. Would the normally conservative Pax be willing to take the biggest risk of his career? There have been small signs that suggest the Bulls are very interested in Howard and have been watching these discussions very closely. I wouldn't be surprised if Pax made the gamble, but I wouldnt be surprised if he didn't as well. If the Bulls were to give up Noah, Deng and Bobcats pick for Howard and he leaves, you have a good amount of cap space and a starting 5 of Rose, Rip, Brewer, Boozer, Asik with Asik, Butler, Watson on the bench. A gutted team no doubt but they would be in a better position than probably 20 of the 30 teams.
  13. That's odd timing if they are pushing Kane right now considering he's in the midst of his worst professional season. He's not having a terrible season or anything just not up to his standards. And in terms of star potential on the ice, I highly doubt he'll ever be a top 10 player at his best...he looks like he will settle into that 20-30 range, being a perennial all star but not amongst the games true elite. Then again, there have been plenty of players in all 4 sports that get pushed to stardom despite not being amongst the games very best.
  14. Somewhere, the trade Kane crowd is thinking this: THATS WHY HE HASNT SCORED ANY GOALS, CUZ HES BEEN TOO BUSY PLANNING THIS SUPERMAN BIZ. TRADE HIM! HE DIDNT EVEN HIT ANYBODY IN THE ALL STAR GAME!!!!! Funny thing is that I was watching a video of the 2009 Breakaway competition which Kane was also in, and although it wasn't the first thing he tried, after not scoring the first couple of times, he randomly tried the exact same thing as he tried in this years competition except without the cape and glasses. He missed that one too and quickly went back to what he was doing before. So that move has been in his repertoire for awhile.
  15. Now they are talking about the story that he was telling people that he was going to be the Bears GM and his peers' response was basically "hahaha ok Phil have fun with that..." as if they didn't believe it. The idea that how can this bozo be our GM when his peers don't even believe he should be GM. Anyways like jersey said he's an easy target. Not a very strong press conference at all but I am not going to judge him until he starts acquiring players.
  16. Boers and Bernstein rip everyone after interviews but they are really going to town on this dude. I missed the first part of the PC but apparently he just kept saying stuff about having a process or something.
  17. I don't like the way this guy talks at all. doesn't appear particularly smart. random stories that really don't have much to do with anything.
  18. So D12 slightly opened the door ever so slightly on coming to Chicago...
  19. Good to see that idiot homer Cafardo has gotten the dumb Red Sox fans overly excited about compensation they aren't going to get again. I was worried that I wasn't going to enjoy the schadenfreude over at SoSH after the compensation or lack there of is announced.
  20. Yeah but on NBC so its not replacing anything important.
  21. tazer is hoping to play on Tuesday. That's great news. sharpie is expected to come back sometime during the 3 game western canada swing on tuesday, wednesday and friday
  22. I've never seen it under Thibs. I remember about 2-3 weeks ago one of the beat reporters for the Bulls mentioned that they were practicing zone D but haven't seen it come out in a game until today.
  23. Can someone break out the Dusty Dice, and change one die to the name of Bulls players, and the other to the names of random body parts?
  24. Now, I know you're an outspoken UM fan and all, but it's just not an NBA game. Son of a bitch
  25. Rip is in. Deng is out. Oh yeah and following the theme of the season, a random rotation player is mentioned as out despite no previous knowledge of an injury. CJ Watson will miss the game with a random wrist injury. Seriously, once every 2 or 3 games, an hour before the game a random injury will come up and cause a Bull to miss a game.
