  1. lol here, a majority of MLB GMs, both statistical and mainstream baseball writers. But the rest think he's a bum.
  2. Too many Tigers fans there. Yesterday I took a walk with my dogs in the general vicinity of the ballpark and when I left the score was 3-0 Cubs. During the walk I heard several very loud cheers, most within a 5-10 minute span. I figured the Cubs had somehow tacked on a bunch more and expected to see a 6-0 game or something. I get back home and turn the game back on and its actually 3-3.
  3. And we're tied again. The silver lining is that those runs are all unearned, so Garza's ERA will stay down for trading purposes.
  4. Wow Starlin coming up to bat with his average at .299. Not used to seeing that. And he gets a bloop hit to get back over .300 :) Just looked this up...since July 21st of his rookie season (2010), Starlin has entered a game with a BA under .300 just 8 times. If you remove the first week of the season when BA's vary wildly from game to game, that number jumps down to 3 times. His BA on those 3 times were .299, .299, .296
  5. BUT WHAT IF THEY ARE ALL IN ON IT???!
  6. I cant believe how terrible the field has looked. By far the worst I've seen it after any of the concerts. Then again, its been by far the closest time between concert and game ever (I believe).
  7. He's not dicking around. I know, that was terrible
  8. OK since no one really cared to guess, the answer is Michigan State vs. Michigan. Every other non-Nebraska matchup has occured over the last 14 years of the Big Ten Tournament. doooooooooooooooon't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare lol And bukie, sad to see that I am that predictable. I probably would have asked no matter what though, as I find it interesting that of all the potential matchups over the last 14 years only 1 has not occured yet. The fact that it happens to be a rivalry game involving my team is just icing on the cake.

  10. Good stuff!
  11. The end to the Bulls season was devistating and it still hurts. Because of their NBA best regular season without so many key guys and their 1 playoff triumph at full strength, I am allowed to state that the 2011-2012 Bulls would have swept through the playoffs 16-0 and no one can change my mind. *puts blinders on*
  12. Trivia question: Excluding Nebraska, what is the only Big Ten Tournament matchup that has yet to occur since the tournament started in 1998? (PS Before this year there was a 2nd matchup that had never occured as well, Illinois vs. Iowa)
  13. Yeah, no. A grounder right to Peralta and a toss to 2nd, and a grounder to Peralta and a throw to first. Without the benefit of watching the replay again for a closer look for something I might have missed, those are pretty routine throws. Those were ugly throws, yes, but in both cases the runner was out. Let's just enjoy the break. Doesnt mean he didnt botch the throws, but yeah I don't care, we got the calls and we win.

  15. Wow are we really going to have a save situation coming up? Amazing. I have no idea who our closer is.....does anyone know?
  16. Would have been an awesome way to kick off the post-Jaramillo era by having Castro walk home the winning run home. Oh well. Thank God Peralta botched 2 routine throws
  17. Thunder cant get anything going inside this entire quarter
  18. I really hope we win this. I hate our 67 year winless streak against these guys and there's no promises that we'll be in a close game the rest of this series.
  19. The Cubs and Twins have been the 2 front runners to get the 2014 game, but nothing has been announced either way. The Twins' advantage is the new ballpark and the fact that 2013 is an AL year to host the game. The Cubs' advantage is the 100th year of Wrigley only happens that year, and the AL/NL rotation has been broken recently for another historic ballpark. I think in the end the Cubs will definitely get it unless they don't end up getting the deal with the state for some reason. The Twins can host in 2015.
  20. The biggest AB of the game and its LaHair taking it against a lefty. The result: swing at a ball at his feet, take a pitch right down the middle, swing at a ball high and away. Inning over.
  21. 2016, I think Pretty sure it's 2014 as the Cubs wanted the game to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Wrigley and probably the renovations to the park. As of now the 2014 All Star game venue has yet to be announced.
  22. Right. Jaramillo might be a little disappointed, but I'm sure he understands that it wouldnt make sense to work in an organization that doesn't have the same hitting philosophy as him. Kind of funny this is kind of "meh" news considering the decent amount of fan fare he got when coming here. I think he even had a press conference to announce his signing.
  23. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I havent followed the minors on a daily basis, rather a once or twice a week kind of thing, so I might have missed this but what is going on with Vogelbach? I would have assumed he would be assigned to Boise, but I havent seen anything about him. I know he was working with the AZL Cubs, has he not been doing well, or does he just need more time to get up to speed? Or did he get assigned to Boise and I somehow missed it? Edit: Nevermind, I mostly got my answer reading the Boise thread.
  24. Probably working out the details. I'm guessing that's why they wanted everything wrapped up this week even though the deadline is July 2.
