  1. they also only have 3 sports, and the Penguins only switched as an homage to the more successful franchises in the city. one of those being the pirates? when the hell did the color change happen?
  2. I was going to say I'd choose whichever colors the white sox would look most awkward in but they've worn so many hideous uniforms in their history I don't know if its possible that any existing Chicago team colors would look bad in comparison.
  3. Weird to hear a Cubs fan say they don't hate the Mets but I guess that's the norm now.
  4. I don't even think Harden was asking for max. I think the Thunder offered him 4 years $52 mil ($13 mil average annually), and he wanted 4 years $60 million ($15 mil average annually). He ended up signing for 5 years, $80 million ($16 mi average annually). I don't really know the cap situation for the Thunder in depth, but in retrospect would the Thunder have extended Ibaka if they could do it over again? Or should they have bit the bullet and amnestied Perkins in order to free up space to keep Ibaka and Harden? I'm guessing for the later scenario, they wouldn't have been able to make it work financially for them.
  5. the bruins did it earlier this year against the rangers i think. i know they erased a 3 goal lead in the 3rd and a 2 goal deficit very late but i can't remember for sure if they did it with goalie pulled or not. kind of a cool little study, that kind of comeback (game 7, overtime, blowing the 2 goal lead late while other team has empty net) happens once in 60 lifetimes I think this evens them out for being on the losing end of Philly's 3-0 series comeback and 3-0 Game 7 comeback a couple of years ago.
  6. lol wait, its May 15th and the Cubs have just won their first home series of the season? geez
  7. Blackhawks are still have not lost in regulation with Patrick Sharp in the lineup this season.
  8. SOG: Chicago 42 Scum 21
  9. wait correction, I LOVE beating scum
  10. Gotta admit....if the Hawks were to win the Cup, right now Craw would be the favorite for the Conn Smythe. At this point, Hossa and Sharp would be the only other contenders on the Hawks (so far, of course).
  11. I like when the Blackhawks beat Detroit I love when the Blackhawks win playoff games This is great.
  12. CHELSEA DAGGER IT UP!!!!!
  13. Oduya's sexy and he knows it
  14. Tree started the wave...or was it SSR?
  15. Oh Bolland....timing is off with all the time missed
  16. Quiet thread for Wings/hawks
  17. We'll see how God is feeling in November
  18. Not a great period for the Hawks
  19. I'm glad it looks like it's gonna go through, but I really wish they had gotten more than 35 as a baseline. Where does that put them among the rest of baseball? Where would the potential 46 (which would hopefully be maxed out when we're really good, but I'm not sure how you get baseball to request 11 games be changed... isn't that usually just done on Sundays or does baseball do it for some of those weeknight national broadcasts too? Either way, it would seem those 11 wouldn't impact our TV deal at all (which I think we talked about), since they'd be being bumped for national broadcasts. So only 35 still sucks. I wish I could find the link....someone figured out how many night games each team had scheduled in 2011..I believe the top team had close to 60 night games.
  20. McNeil was talking about it on the Score today and floated something about the Hawks recently approaching Stalberg about a contract extension and he turned them down. Didn't exactly link it to this situation though. Could be one of many dominos that fell to get to this point, as I highly doubt the Hawks would weaken their team in the playoffs because someone didn't want to immediately reup with them.
  21. Does this mean we can bring back CERA?!?!
  22. It's happened. I cant think of a specific example, but I know I've seen it a few times. I think I remember the Wings doing it to the Hawks a couple of years ago. Edit: Actually this was way back in 05-06: http://espn.go.com/nhl/boxscore?gameId=251223004 Hawks were up 2-0, gave up goals with 39 seconds left and 7 seconds left, and then gave up a goal with 1 second left in OT to lose.
  23. I'm pretty scared at how accurate these EA Sports Simulations of the playoffs are so far: http://espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2013/story/_/id/9224179/cup-finals-rangers-beat-blackhawks Correct: Blackhawks over Wild 4-1 Red Wings over Ducks 4-3 Penguins over Islanders 4-2 Rangers over Capitals 4-3 Bruins over Maple Leafs 4-3 Correct winner: Kings over Blues 4-3 (was 4-2) Incorrect: Canucks over Sharks 4-3 (was 4-0 Sharks) Habs over Senators 4-3 (was 4-1 Senators)
