  1. It's too bad Matt Garza is pitching tomorrow, otherwise that record might well be ours. Hey now, Garza has a 1.000 OPS this year (ok he's only 1-3 with a double and has a career .210 OPS but whatever)
  2. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/81526104.gif Oh come on this is the 2nd greatest Cup my sports teams have ever won.
  3. THE CROSSTOWN CUP IS OURS AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I agree with this. Anytime you go deep in the conference finals, you've done well. At that point it's almost a roll of the dice. Yup...especially because I feel like these 4 teams are the 4 best teams in hockey. In 2010, I felt the East was a lot weaker and it would have been a disappointment to lose in the Finals. I don't think there is much shame in losing to any of the other 3 remaining teams.

  6. And 22 runs over the last 2.5 games I might actually be excited about this team...would be more excited if we didnt have such a big hole to dig out of. Even with the 6 game losing streak taken into account the Cubs are 9-8 in their last 17 games if we can finish this one today.
  7. Maybe when Sveum said Wood might be the best pitcher in baseball he was taking his hitting into account as well.
  8. Now that its raining, I'm cheering for the Cubs to make outs to get this through 4.5 innings.
  9. holy [expletive] [expletive]....Wood needs to be the DH in AL parks
  10. ESPN's picks have 4 guys picking the Hawks and 6 picking the Kings. Everyone has the series going at least 6 games.
  11. Also, the Hawks did have a pretty good PK in 09-10. 85% in the regular season and 83.3% in the playoffs vs. 87% regular season and 97.6% in the playoffs. I just remember Sopel blocking a ton of shots.
  12. Yes on playoff Buff over Bickell but he's closing the gap in my mind. I'd take Saad over Brouwer in a close one. He hasnt scored in the playoffs but he's making a lot of really good plays out there.
  13. lol @ DeJesus Cubs have outscored the Sox 20-3 this series including the 3 inning rainout
  14. I found the same sentiment amongst my friends who are Kings fans. Well that makes sense considering they are 7-0 at home in the playoffs and 1-5 on the road
  15. Didn't realize this but Walkom is the same ref that swallowed his whistle when Torres knocked Hossa into next season last year.
  16. lol @ Zetterberg basically telling McGuire to f'off https://vine.co/v/bYv2x32e0JP
  17. I agree. I don't really want to post this in the post victory afterglow, but i don't like our odds that much in this series. Especially hate that Games 1 and 2 are back to back, which I feel like increases the chances that the Kings steal at least 1 of the 2 games at the UC. BTW, the NHL has to be thrilled to have 2 really good matchups for their conference finals. In the west you have the 2nd and 3rd largest markets playing and last years champs vs. this years best team, and in the East you have 2 hockey mad cities and 2 high profile teams with stars on both sides.
  18. Hah, a friend who is a Red Wings fan posted this on Facebook after the no-goal but before the winner: Edit: BTW, I'll take it given how that particular Bears game ended
  19. Perhaps, its just me but, they were all pumping hard for the Wings, couldn't believe Eddie O' commentary in favor of the Wings throughout the whole series. According to a Wings board, Eddie O was saying that it was a good call immediately after the no-goal happened. But in OT he changed his tune and was saying it was a bad call. I think its a matter of him overly favoring the other team so that he's not seen as a Hawks homer
  20. Q: "That [call]....that can't happen"
  21. Tazer has showed a surprising amount of emotion this series. Didn't know he had it in him. Just goes to show how frustrated he's been. I bet he's relieved to be moving on to play team that doesn't have a Zetterberg on its roster.
  22. I dunno...the Hawks played quite well in Game 4 and in big stretches of Game 3, so it didn't take me by complete surprise. I mean its always a bit of a surprise when a team comes back from down 3-1, but it was a more talented team with home ice advantage that came back.
  23. Video of the handshake line from the stands:
