  1. Now we just have to survive…are we back to Neris again?
  2. I was terrified of that fly ball to Seiya there. You shouldn’t have to be terrified of a routine fly ball to RF ever. If the last out of the 2016 World Series was a routine fly ball of RF I would have been celebrating before it hit Heyward’s glove.
  3. So... 2nd: 1st and 2nd, 1 out, don't score 4th: Bases loaded, 0 outs, score 1 run 5th: 2nd and 3rd, 1 out, don't score 6th: 1st and 3rd, 0 outs, don't score (I realize they scored 3 in the 5th so I'm fudging the math a bit, but they did at one point have 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and didn't score again)
  4. x3 7 LOB tonight in 5 innings for Nido. Fits right in 🙄
  5. Brazil is getting CONCACAFed
  6. You can change the catcher but he’s still gonna come out in a big spot and strike out.
  7. Colombia is so good
  8. Solid performance that I enjoyed but Bolivia is also by far the worst team in the tournament and probably one of a handful of teams that will have the lowest number of supporters at their matches. If anything it worries me that we could only bury 2, there were certainly plenty of chances to bury more. Mildly concerned about a scenario where the US and Panama draw giving Panama a chance to run up the score on Bolivia and advance on GD. Lot of assumptions there though as US should beat Panama, US will probably park the bus and go for a draw or 1 goal loss vs. Uruguay making Panama need likely a +4 margin vs. Bolivia, etc (if the US loses). In reality lets hope the US wins against Panama, clinching advancement and we can just go out there against Uruguay and open it up to see how we stack up against one of the best in the world.
  9. haha he picks the pitch that's actually a strike to complain about. L
  10. Only -3 for the series now! Get a series win while leading the RD tomorrow
  11. Not a ton…xBA on their hits Seiya - .990 Morel - .310 Swanson - .470 PCA - .910 That all 4 ended up hits is somewhat fortunate but none of the individual hits seemed that egregious.
  12. Always funny when a player gets DFA’d and then his first games after catching on elsewhere are against the team that dumped him.
  13. The last time the Cubs had a 5 run lead before today was April 26th in a 7-1 win over the Red Sox
  14. 4 run lead is the largest lead we’ve had since 2019. Or something like that
  15. The go on contact play…worked?!? Season back on Edit: I’m sure it’s worked several times this year I just only notice it when it doesn’t but still
  16. Oh no, this is the guy in the politics thread trying to convince us that Trump has no shot in November.
  17. I thought I read somewhere that his most recent contract gave him more days off than before
  18. So to win the Cubs have to do what they havent done in over 2 months without the benefit of historic levels of wildness? Should be easy. Oh wait its 9-1 now? we're hosed edit: The last 2 times the Cubs scored 9+ runs in a game they lost, the May 11th game vs. the Pirates, and April 16th against the Diamondbacks. The last time the Cubs score 9+ runs and won was April 5th vs the Dodgers. The Cubs have won just 1 game this year while scoring 10+ runs, a 12-2 win over Colorado on April 2nd.
  19. Thought Imanaga was getting back on track. Maybe he is and this is just a blip or tired arm. Runs (earned and unearned) allowed last 5 starts: 7, 5 (1 earned), 2, 1, 8 I always kind of figured things would be a little tougher in the summer months given his past HR issues, but hopefully he can get it together.
  20. I didnt even think about the fact that the Cubs might be playing right now. Looks like the Cubs didn't think they were playing either. Or at least Shota
  21. Depressing article about the falloff of the 2016 Cubs: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-end-of-the-2016-cubs-is-coming/
  22. Much much much worse. Caruso made everyone better defensively. I was ok with trading him but was expecting much different in return.
