  1. It's amazing how rebuilt the O-line is. 5/8 players listed are brand new and 2 of the other 3 have only been with the Bears for 1 season.
  2. I like the Southport bars because while they get their share of Cubs traffic, they are rarely packed to the point where you can't get a seat or hear others talk. Man I'm getting old if those are my priorities at a bar.
  3. For what not to do: Call them "Cubbies" Avoid Terrace Reserved, especially if its not in the first ~5-6 rows. Upper Deck Box is better, and in most cases even Upper Deck Reserved. I'd guess that Wrigley's upper deck is closer to the field than many parts of most ballparks' lower deck.
  4. John Clayton rates the QBs in the NFL. Jay Cutler comes in at 21st, just behind Sam Bradford and just ahead of Christian Ponder. That's a little insane. About Cutler: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9593233/nfl-quarterback-rankings-john-clayton-reveals-2013-hierarchy-signal-callers-part-3
  5. I think this was rumored already but now Rolling Stone is picking up on it, not sure what their sources are but the full article should be up at some point. Well, he did coach Aron Hernandez... Sorry I should have clarified. The article was about Aaron Hernandez, and that is who he was supposedly covering up for.
  6. 1 page game thread, Javy must have went 0-fer
  7. Does anyone use Yahoo? They did this new draft grades thing that said one of my drafts was a C-, but when I ran the team through Football Outsiders, they said I was strong at every position (except TE) and had a 95% chance of making the playoffs with poor in-season management.
  8. So this is interesting... http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/five-revelations-from-rolling-stones-aaron-hernandez-story-20130827 I think this was rumored already but now Rolling Stone is picking up on it, not sure what their sources are but the full article should be up at some point.
  9. Giving Da Bum way too much credit
  10. So does that mean Baez, Bryant, Almora and Soler are all in his top 25, or has Soler's injury dropped him out of the top 50?
  11. I keep looking at the schedule and thinking it looks pretty difficult. There are a lot of winnable games, but not a ton of games that just jump out as gimmies, and the ones that are (STL, CLE) are on the road. The home schedule looks especially tough. Cincinnati, Minnesota, New Orleans, NY Giants, Detroit, Baltimore, Dallas, Green Bay. I think 5-3 with that slate would be great.....obviously think we can take Minnesota and Detroit at home, and Dallas should be a winnable game.
  12. I'm starting to wonder if this team can go at least 9-25 to avoid back to back 100 loss seasons.
  13. If Cubs fans actually cared anymore, Edwin Jackson would have LaTroy Hawkins like hate in this city right now.
  14. Remember when Lovie was doing everything humanly possibly to avoid giving Robbie FGAs longer than 49 yards? Since 2009 he has hit 13 of 15 FGAs from 50+ yards, including his last 10.
  15. Starlin Castro is now fun bad. Or maybe he has been for awhile, I don't watch enough.
  16. So unfortunately I only saw the opening drive. I see Jay is 9-18 but the Bears have 24 points and am reading that Marshall dropped a few. How'd they look overall? Looks like running game is more than solid.
  17. Nice, Rizzo and Castro a combined 0-11. Castro down to .609 OPS.
  18. Yes!! I knew I wasn't the only one. See the Cubs score 11 runs and it's [expletive] Murphy and Schierholtz (which is ok) doing everything while Rizzo and Castro go 0-9
  19. In 2010 with the Marlins, he put up a line of .318./348/.705/1.052 in 47 PA. This year he has a line of .318/.388/.795/1.183 in 49 PA. In between that he's been a -2 WAR player in ~600 PA.
  20. Castro with a .185/.205/.247/.452 line his last 22 games going into today.
