  1. Nice! Thanks for figuring that out. So close to all 4 at home too (which can happen in Phoenix with an NHL only arena) My dream would be to somehow attend 3 different teams in a day. Like a Hawks game at noon (on NBC), Bears game at 3PM (random late game appearance), and Cubs World Series game at 7.
  2. And Chepo was fired
  3. Andy on Desipio does a pretty good job describing the meatball bears fans and the almost as bad media that covers the team, including our buddy Hub: http://www.desipio.com/?p=4568
  4. Baez 1-2 with a single and K
  5. On October 31, 2010, the Giants and Rangers played in the World Series, while the Warriors, Mavericks, 49ers, Raiders and Cowboys all played. Missing were the Sharks and Stars who both played the night before and were off that day.
  6. Close calls. The 76ers and Knicks actually played the night before (Oct 31st) in NY. The Flyers played at home the day before and after Nov 1st.
  7. This is very random, but this is something I've always wondered. Have teams from the same city in all 4 sports played on the same day? I know there have been plenty of days where 3 teams have, in the spring it happens often, for all 4 teams to play on the same day, it would have been be on a Monday, Thursday or most likely Sunday because of the NFL, it would have to involve a baseball team deep into the World Series and it would have to involve the NBA season starting as early as it can, something like October 29th. So that probably hasnt happened, but if we allow the NBA game to be a preseason game, it becomes much more likely.
  8. Simmons has been railing on that for years. This particular week, CBS is showing the US open finals during the 3pm slot
  9. So training camp starts in less than a week (Sept 12). It still feels like yesterday the Hawks won the Cup. The Hawks will still be really good and a favorite in the West once the playoffs start, but does anyone see bit of a fall off during the regular season? -extremely short offseason -coming off a condensed season that didn't provide a lot of rest between games -this year is another condensed season with the olympic break in between -Hawks will have up to 10 players in the olympics, playing playoff intensity games in the middle of february before coming home to the dog days of the season (you can point out that the hawks won the cup the last time there was an olympic break but the olympics were in canada, this time they are half a world away in russia) -presumably less depth without Bolland, Stalberg, Frolik, etc. meaning more reliance on top lines/pairings Have to assume we wont have a 100% success rate in replacing them with young guys I could see the Hawks being towards the middle of the playoff picture most of the season and finishing somewhere in the 4-7 range before (hopefully) turning it on in the playoffs. Hope I'm wrong and the Hawks surprise me. Either way its great to talk about another season starting.
  10. I'm stunned this thread was made by SCS.
  11. Strong negotiation tactic
  12. How does that even happen in this day and age?
  13. This is why the Red Zone Channel is the greatest thing ever, for people like you and me who watch non-Bears football in that manner.
  14. I thought everything was agreed upon, or at least the major stuff and Tunney is just bitching to bitch. Is that not the case?
  15. I'm crushed. For some reason I eat that stuff up. Power Rankings, game picks...I'm a sucker for it all. Oh I am too and have been mocked for it here in the past, but I'm not crying over Peter King's picks.
  16. I'm crushed.
  17. Sunday night is the featured game now like Mondays used to be. That changed when NBC took over Sundays and ESPN got Mondays. I think they made that move because Monday ratings had dropped off regardless of the quality of the game that was on. I know that. But MNF wasn't this bad. And SNF wasn't this bad pre-06 when it was the secondary prime time game (at least, not as far as I remember). I'm just saying that there have to be at least 2-3 somewhat compelling matchups every week, at least to the point that the 2013 Dolphins should never see a national broadcast. Well I think MNF gets the 3rd choice every week, after SNF and whoever has the CBS/Fox doubleheaders 3pm premier game. Then you have to factor in schedules and regulations. I think teams can only be on prime time games 5 times a season and I believe every team plays on Thursday at least once (bc I believe each team can only play on Thursday once a year sans thanksgiving). So that leaves 4 appearances per year for the teams. I'm not sure if they go week by week and say "SNF who do you want? Now Fox, now MNF" or if SNF selects all their games for the season first, then fox/CBS goes, then MNF picks what's left but if that's the case I'm guessing MNF doesn't have great choices left.
  18. Oh hey guys, first update in a month! What will this be about? Possibly some construction timelines for the offseason? Maybe some cool new renderings with the City Council approved changes worked in? Nope, its Tom Tunney opposing another part of the renovation plans!
  19. League 1 (PPR): McFadden @ Indy or Lacy @ SF? Newton @ Sea or Wilson @ Car? League 2 (PPR): Redman vs. Ten or Ingram vs. Atl or I guess Tate @ SD (deep league)? League 3 (non-PPR): Lamar Miller @ Cle or Forte vs. Cin? Start 2: Bowe @ Jac, Wayne vs. Oak, E. Sanders vs. Ten, J. Jones @ SF? Any help is appreciated!

  21. I was gonna say, I thought he just pitched against us as a Padre

  23. Really wish Rizzo, Castro and Shark, our 3 most important players on the big league roster going into this season weren't each having disappointing seasons to various degrees. Makes another 95 loss season harder to stomach, even if the minor leagues have been awesome.
