    Bears are a penalty machine today

    The Bears special teams sucks so much....hester makes a dumb decision to take it out of the end zone, the blocking sucks so he gets dropped at the 16 yard line, then there's the inevitable penalty so instead of getting the ball at the 20 we start at the 6.

    It's weird to us because we're used to good defenses but I think this is pretty much how the league is. The defense has been about league average and that's with several enormously impactful injuries. according to DVOA, the Bears D is slightly above average overall (13th).

    Off the top of my head there was the successful one against GB and the one against Cincinnati. ahh forgot about the one against Cincinnati. So 2 for 6 from what I can remember.

    Why do the announcers get excited when the Bears opponents break off 10+ yard runs, like its some exceptional thing against the Bears D? The Bears have allowed 47 runs of 10+ yards so far this season. 47 in 11 games....

    I'm trying to think....im sure this is selective memory but I remember 5 plays where the Bears were either 4th and less than 2 yards or going or a 2 point conversion. The Bears failed 4 of those 5 times, and the one time it worked Forte had to break 2 tackles to get the 1st.

    Bears looked out of position there on that 3rd down and of course Kellen 'the killer" Clemens sees it and exploits it.

    I've actually agreed with every 4th down decision Trestman has had this year until that one. IMO you kick to make it a 1 score game there. Edit: But I think seeing the terrible play calls Trestman has made on 4th and short this year influenced my hate for going for it there. The Bears have failed on similar runs multiple times this year and I was afraid he was going to do it again, and he did.

    The Rams might be worse than the Bears D at tackling....either that or Forte is untouchable.

    I'll always remember the time when a QB from my high school was a starter in the NFL. And decided to sabotage the Packers playoff chances. Wait, aren't you from the northeast? The Tolziens are from the Chicago area. Confused. I actually know his dad through work. He came in one day last year after the holidays with a broken finger. "What the hell happened to your finger?" "Well, my son is an NFL quarterback..." From Chicago, went to Fremd for 3 years and moved to NH for my last year of HS and first 3 years of college before moving back.
