  1. This is how I feel too. Wish the return was more meaningful. I think its extremely meaningful. There was almost no way for the Bulls to get under the luxury tax this year without making this move. Now this sort of resets the luxury tax clock a bit going forward. The Bulls will be able to go over the luxury tax in one of the next 2 seasons and not have to pay a steep penalty the rest of the way. My guess is that they stay under the threshold next year, bring Mirotic and anywhere from 1-3 draft picks and then build for a run in 2 years. If we don't get out of the luxury tax this year, we would have to stay under it the next 2 seasons because there is no way JR is paying the repeater penalty. Makes sense to go under in a year without Rose and the team going nowhere.
  2. [expletive] tackle his stupid ass. If he breaks a tackle it's an immediate 20+ yard conversion. Every time.
  3. Going to straight up best 6 records in each conference and not giving auto bids to division winners would be better, imo. In that scenario you'd have to eliminate divisions and remove the 2 games a year against the Packers, Lions and Vikings. That would kind of suck. I think out of the 4 sports, divisions are the best in football and they should keep that aspect. I'm in favor of division winners getting a playoff spot but seed based on record.
  4. I know this is completely illogical but glad the Eagles lost. Serves them right for turning into a buzzsaw for 4 quarters in a meaningless game against the Bears. Blah blah seeding. Glad they got the better seed so they could give the Saints their first playoff road win in their history.
  5. Yup. I feel for KC. Every third year they make the playoffs and are ceremoniously dumped in their first game. Their fans needed this one.
  6. Wow Reid is really blowing this. Your last TO right after the 2 min warning.
  7. Yes....quirk...
  8. I'm guessing it's not likely we can pick up an impact FA defensive player at this point?
  9. Iowa is currently No. 15 in Pomeroy, so they're not exactly some deep darkhorse. They're very deep and thus well-positioned to survive both the micro (individual games) and macro (entire conference schedule) attrition that is the Big Ten season. Their depth also allows them versatility. They finished 10-10 in Big Ten games last year, in an exceedingly strong league. That included a four-point loss to Indiana (No. 3), two three-point losses to Michigan State (No. 9), and a four-point, double overtime loss at Wisconsin (No. 13). I said last year that I thought they could be top-10 good this year; they've lost two tough games against very good teams so far (I figured with more experience they'd turn the tough losses into wins this year -- they haven't yet and some teams never move past the "losing close to top teams" phase). I don't think they'll win the league but I would not be surprised to see them finish second. I think they might be better than Ohio State as is. I really like them as a sweet sixteen type team, but I can't see them winning the conference. Still a very good team. I just think that Michigan State is winning the conference. I feel like every few years a team that might not be the best in the conference strongly competes or wins the regular season conference. Michigan 2 years ago is a good example. Just have to protect home court, win the winnable road games, and steal 1-2 tough road games and hope that there isn't a team that goes like 16-2 or something.
  10. So WR Antonio Brown cant play in the pro bowl.....was replaced by Cordelle Patterson. Come on, I get that he's got a lot of return TDs, but Alshon Jeffery definitely deserves to go over him.
  11. Especially with your best player missing the second half
  12. Well, he kicked it right at the guy, I thought it was pretty clear he was trying to get the ball deflected off of him. Someone needs to draft that kicker in the first round. The ability to aim your kicks at defenders so they deflect back to your guys would be a pretty valuable skill to have i would think.
  13. Yeah let's go win...in like 9 freaking months ugh. NFL offseasons are so long.
  14. I don't know. I think he writes a pretty compelling case, and the things that were said to him by his coaches is disturbing and unacceptable, but in terms of linking what was said/done to him and his release from the Vikings, there are 2 sides to every story. Either way, he's certainly blackballed now. our punter was pretty much decapitated, surely he had a place on the bengals roster if he wasn't blackballed. valid point. I know the Bears brought him in for a tryout somewhere in October/November. Did the Bengals even bring him in. Maybe he was blackballed, but I'm still somewhat dubious that his campaigning for marriage equality was the main reason he was cut. I edited my previous post to add that in a results driven league, it seems illogical to burn a 5th round pick and cut their adequately performing punter because he was outspoken about marriage equality.
  15. I don't know. I think he writes a pretty compelling case, and the things that were said to him by his coaches is disturbing and unacceptable, but in terms of linking what was said/done to him and his release from the Vikings, there are 2 sides to every story. I have a hard time believing that in a results driven league, teams would actually choose to burn a 5th round pick and release an adequately performing punter because he outwardly supports gay marriage. Either way, he's certainly blackballed now.
  16. Well they have Revis as their #1 CB, and I don't believe they need any help at DT. Tillman could be a #2 CB, but I don't see Melton going there.
  17. Come on fire someone!
  18. Happy they did this so quickly. Love the Jennings and Slausson signings too. Very happy overall.
  19. The packers might get blacked out?
  20. 2 days too late
  21. Final PFF scores of the season: http://i.imgur.com/XlTKDC2.png http://i.imgur.com/SV5PdeM.png http://i.imgur.com/fzoRodC.png Jesus Christ, how does a punter who only punted 2-3 times in a game get that low of a score? Good riddance Nice job by the offense overall, terrible job by the defense as usual. I'm high on Corey Wootton next year if we keep his position stable (if we resign him....assuming we will). Amazingly, the run defense graded positively and the defense really sucked with pass rush (not surprising) and pass coverage (mildly surprising).
  22. What's that now? Double dammit
  23. What's that now? Dammit 6th in the NFC
  24. This reddit post looks at overall records over the last 10 years.... http://imgur.com/a/Lgl5X Bears had a record of 89-71, good for 12th in the NFL and 6th overall There are 6 teams within 2 games of them recordwise, the Saints (91), Falcons (90), Giants (90), Eagles (89.5), Seahawks (88) and Cowboys (87). The Saints made 5 playoff appearances, Falcons 5, Giants 5, Eagles 6, Seahawks 7, Cowboys 3 and the Bears 3. Makes sense that the Cowboys and Bears would be tied with the least number of appearances of those teams since they seem to be the ones mired in mediocrity year in and year out. Oh, and if those 10 year records were set up as an actual season, the Bears would miss out on the NFC's 6th seed by 1/2 of a game over the Eagles, which seems fitting.
