  1. Also there seems to be a lot of moronic "who cares its the cubs theyve had hyped cant miss prospects for years and failed, remember felix pie, hehe?"
  2. this stuff is good. I just read the comment where he said his average in the minors for his career was .250 (actually .278) and OBP was .300 (actually .336). Also no one mentions that he was one of if not the youngest player in all of those leagues and is now the youngest player in the major leagues.
  3. Good stuff. Now that Jim Hendry cant hurt us anymore, I say we embrace him for bringing us Javi.
  4. Man this would be awesome Scherzer Hamels Arrieta Hendricks Turner Russell, SS Baez, 2B Rizzo, 1B Bryant, 3B Soler, RF Alcantara, CF Coughlan, LF Castillo, C Not going to do the pen which is loaded with quality arms. Depending on how quickly Russell and Bryant come up, and how quickly all the young guys adjust to the bigs that roster has 90 wins written all over it.
  5. Fangraphs says that right now Turner profiles as a middle reliever: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/a-reason-for-pessimism-about-jacob-turner/
  6. seems like Arias would be a good guess
  7. assuming he's talking about Kane County and not Boise, and assuming he's not talking about Underwood, Blackburn, Tseng, and Torrez, and knowing that I don't know enough about the minor leagues to accurately guess Turner's value... Arias and Maples? One is a reliever who is 23 in low A with really good numbers, the other a guy who was highly regarded coming out of the draft but a huge disappointment as a pro.
  8. just saw that....thanks for providing no details Keith
  9. Still going to go to the game afterward? yeah whats the problem, you will still probably make it in time for Javi's second HR
  10. Bro you've got 1 more to go tonight to catch up to Javi
  11. Man watching that second HR, off the bat it looks like a gapper and then it lands well beyond the wall for a HR. Amazing
  12. seriously [expletive] it, lets roll
  13. THE LAST GIFT OF JIMBO HENDRY! BASEBALL IS FUN AGAIN!!!!
  14. buzzkill? I'm pumped he's hitting well lately. THIS IS FUN Cassie? Stop You know I'm doing that to mock Rick Renteria right? I thought that Cassie nonsense started with Quade Err whatever, the last 4 years of Cub-dom blend together. I thought that Rick was the one that started Bonnie, Cassie etc
  15. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG, YOU [expletive] BUZZKILL. buzzkill? I'm pumped he's hitting well lately. THIS IS FUN Cassie? Stop You know I'm doing that to mock Rick Renteria right?
  16. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG, YOU [expletive] BUZZKILL. buzzkill? I'm pumped he's hitting well lately. THIS IS FUN
  17. Cassie with his first HR since June
  18. In play, run(s) Wait the bases are empty.....*thinks* YESSSS!!!!!
  19. I know this has been said, but its really promising to see the Cubs were at least willing to acquire a pitcher who is going to make over 20m a season over the next 4 years. It's just another positive sign in a series of positive signs that baseball is about to get fun again.
  20. It's not one year of Love. They have a commitment from him to opt out and sign a 5 year extension. I think (and could be wrong) he's saying that Minnesota was trading 1 year of Love (because he would have opted out and signed elsewhere) for Wiggins et al
  21. I know this is an almost completely unlikely possibility but I was just curious in general. Hamels has a NTC for 21 teams including the Cubs. If the Cubs claimed him and the Phillies just let the Cubs take his contract, could Hamels block that? Or only if the Phillies and Cubs worked out a trade based on that claim?
  22. It was a lot easier saying Baez was probably going to start out like 1-10 than to actually see it happen.
