Neris threw 33 pitches yesterday. I really hope they use that as an excuse to use someone like Tyson Miller in the 9th, assuming they still have the lead.

Very happy that Amaya has really turned it around this year both as a hitter and behind the plate. But it does make it a little more difficult to decide what to do with catcher this offseason. It’s clear we need to upgrade there but do we need a clear starting catcher or a 1a to Amaya’s 1b? FWIW, his batting line since July 7th is below. Only 72 PA so obviously he needs to show it for longer but he really does seem to be having better ABs, driving the ball more and overall just looking more confident out there .313 .362 .516 .878

He just botched a special teams play where the Bears backup punter kicked it perfectly and looked to be downed at the 1, but Velus came flying in to touch it and in doing so stepped on the goal line for a touchback

This has been a really weird weather day with random rain pockets popping up out of nowhere. Had a 45 min drive today where it was sunny, then pouring, then sunny again and my car dried off, then pouring again, etc. the forecast never really called for rain and the radar just showed tiny pockets of light rain. anyways, are we gonna lose a Steele start because of this?
