  1. I’d really like to hear an explanation from Counsel for why he managed to blow an obvious out by taking too long to challenge the call. It’s the 9th inning and you have a 2 run lead, why do you need to wait for your video guy to get back to you - just challenge it! What are the odds you are going to need another challenge at that point in the game? And that’s only if you fail on the challenge. Ultimately didn’t hurt us, and everyone fucks up on occasion but there are not too many areas where managers have a large impact on the game and he failed tonight in one of those areas.
  2. Cubs played pretty meh in all 4 games against the White Sox but they won all 4 of them and that’s all that ultimately matters. Any loss to a historically bad White Sox team is a bad loss.
  3. I’m pretty sure for a long time they’ve tried to avoid scheduling Cubs-Sox games on the south side for weekend nights because of the fan rowdiness. Guessing it’s gonna be a while before see another one after all the hijinx in the 9th from fans tonight
  4. So we pay Counsell $40m to be late on important challenges. Nice
  5. The only thing I can think of is that Counsell waited too long to ask for the challenge. There’s no other logical reason
  6. Dude Neris is just obsessed with getting himself into trouble
  7. Phew, I was hoping that wasn’t you 😂
  8. Doesn’t look like Lopez has it tonight
  9. Contact play fails again. I cant believe they tried to go home there instead of the double play.
  10. Damn, 2 inches from breaking the game wide open
  11. Thank you for making me look bad for questioning Amaya hitting there!
  12. Big AB here with a runner on 3rd and 1 out. Is Amaya really gonna hit here?
  13. Wouldn't say that diving catch makes up for his error that led to the White Sox only run (I didnt actually see the error or the inning so if I'm mistaken my bad), but it definitely helps
  14. Were the Cubs planning on scoring more than 1 run against one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball?
  15. Also its funny seeing how many rollouts were called for Caleb after we were screaming for Getsy to call more of them for Fields over the last 2 seasons.
  16. Is there any particular reason Roschon Johnson didn't receive any carries today (would have to check but I'm not sure if he even played at all). Didn't see anything about an injury, and last week I think he got carries before Herbert did.
  17. Seriously, what in the hell was he thinking sending him? I have to assume he figured it was such a bad send that the 3B would never even consider the fact that he might try to score. Can't believe that worked.
  18. I'm trying to figure out which of my many bits this is. Does seem like something I'd say though.
  19. JJ McCarthy threw a terrible INT on his first possession but came back and threw a ton of nice passes including a 45 yard TD and 33 yard TD. If he’s a thing, the NFC North is gonna be nuts over the next 5 years
  20. Just preseason but awesome seeing Austin Booker ball out today with 2.5 sacks
  21. Didn’t know it was possible to be more excited than I was already but that performance has me on another level of excitement
  22. Cubs had 16 hits tonight, White Sox had 14 hits. Every Cubs starter had a hit tonight except Wisdom (who was PH for by Busch who ended up getting a hit in his spot). Every White Sox starter had a hit except Robert and Miguel Vargas. kind of surprising more runs were not scored with that many hits
