  1. The White Sox have lost 15 straight home games and are 1-27 in their last 28 home games dating back to early July. Their only home win since July 10th was on August 12th, a 12-2 win over the Yankees (right after the Cubs swept them)
  2. Also on Rome: Edit: Whoops this is the week 1 thread. Oh well
  3. Did anyone else that normally watches the film breakdowns just completely ignore them this week? I just....really wanted to flush that one and never think about it again. Anyways, injury report from today: Hope Keenan is ok. Really don't want to go into game 2 after a rough game 1 offensively without Rome and Keenan both out. The rest seems pretty much as expected.
  4. I'll always take the other side when Barstool is involved. That said, Dan has turned into a crotchety old man. I miss the old Boers and Bernstein version of Dan, though admittedly a lot of the humor from that show would never fly today. That edge he and Boers had back then though was entertaining.
  5. If the Cubs had a 75-70 record at this point last year they'd be in the playoffs by 0.5 games.
  6. Kind of crazy that we get to watch and root for PCA for at least the next several years
  7. Edit: Not sure why this posted twice
  8. Kind of crazy the Cubs might win more games than last year (would need to go 9-8 to surpass last year’s win total) but last year we were alive until the 2nd to last game of the season and this year we’re pretty much out of it with 2+ weeks to go (prove me wrong Cubs!)
  9. Well, back to 4 games out and only one more tough series after this one. The odds are astronomically low (keep in mind bc of the tiebreaker they are really 5 out) but keep winning and have fun
  10. What’s wrong with Porter? Is he having a heart attack or something? I really hope not
  11. Somewhere in SoCal, the Dodgers version of UMFan is angrily complaining about the number of times the Dodgers have lost a game when leading in the 8th inning of later.
  12. Wow that is quite the way to give up 3 runs to blow your lead and trail
  13. Paredes hitting .290 over his last 11 games. It’s not much and he’s not hitting for very much power at the moment but it’s something.
  14. I love that it’s been former Dodgers that have driven in several runs for the Cubs today between Bellinger and Busch. Screw the Dodgers and their “our baseball team should try to win as many baseball games as possible even if we have to spend a lot of money” mindset.
  15. Crane Kenney with the genius idea to sell a bunch of concessions that never end up getting delivered because the game is over and the customer has left. It’s like free money.
  16. thats what a generational QB does
  17. I guess best case scenario but sucks that Caleb is missing a weapon after struggling in week 1
  18. The Bears seem to be favoring Everett. Started in the preseason. Very strange since they just gave him an extension
  19. Well it looks like we'll get this gory breakdown for free:
  20. Ugh losing Rome would suck especially if Keenan is declining (not saying he definitely is, but also hasnt really proven he isnt yet). The WR options thin out after Tyler Scott but of course your WR5 and 6 aren't going to be that great on any team.
  21. So is Jed going to come back as a lame duck in 2025? Are they going to sign him to an extension or let him play out his contract? Is it normal for the head of baseball operations to let his contract expire without an extension?
  22. I'm getting whiplash watching you dart from one extreme to the next lol
  23. That’s the concern though, that’s his whole thing isn’t it? Getting out of the pocket and making plays. It’s not going to work in the NFL as often. I feel like there’s way more development than we were hoping. feels like we’re back on the failed QB carousel that we’ve been stuck on our whole lives. But I acknowledge that I’m prone to massive overreactions
