  1. Baseballsavant. I had to do the work myself by going through the game feed and seeing the balls that would be HRs in some parks.
  2. And we blew another one lol. Hodge looked so unhittable the first 2 batters too
  3. Fun fact: the Rockies have hit 5 balls today that would have been home runs at Wrigley Field but not at Coors compared to 0 for the Cubs
  4. Pearson struggling a bit lately. Managed to keep the lead but allowed a run on 3 hard hit balls edit: whoops this is yesterdays thread
  5. Also this is just baseball meatball griping and having the benefit of hindsight but I never like the idea of bringing in a shaky pitcher like Pearson into a tied game bases loaded 1 out situation. Just feels like asking for trouble. Smyly struggled and walked 2 so maybe it would have been foolish to keep using him especially against a righty but I’d have stuck with him after striking out the previous batter.
  6. I’ve been doing that since like August. Happy they played better but really never felt like it was leading anywhere
  7. Hah. I see that they’ve since tied it. Good stuff
  8. Feels like we’ve switched into “playing out the string” mode
  9. fwiw I pulled all the info from an 2023 article. I remembered many of the games, looked up details on a couple because I remember the games being annoyingly bad, usually due to inept offense.
  10. Is that before or after accounting for the fact that the Cubs will only play 79 games at Wrigley next year due to the Toyko trip?
  11. They should get rid of the humidor and let the balls fly again at Coors just to make things interesting.
  12. The Bears are 7-11 all time when wearing their Orange jerseys, having won the last time they played in them (TNF victory over the Panthers last year). However, prior to that they had lost 7 in a row with some of those losses ugly: 23: Ugly loss at TB 22: Lost to Cowboys by 20, lost that ugly ass 12-7 TNF game to the Commanders when Fields almost scored a TD on a scramble late but ended up with a 1st and goal from inside the 5 and couldn't get the TD 21: A loss I don't remember at all to the Cardinals 20: Ugly ass loss to the Vikings where the offense gained 149 total yards and the only TD was scored on special teams (sound somewhat familiar?) 20: That ugly ass loss to the Colts where the Bears only TD was scored in garbage time down 19-3 late 19: Horrible loss to the Chargers where the Bears blew a 16-7 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter and then Piniero shanked a 41 yard FG attempt on the final play of the game Also, I'll never forget the 2004 Thanksgiving loss to the Cowboys in what was the ugliest offensive performance I've ever seen from a Bears team and that's saying a lot given how many ugly offensive performance we've seen as Bears fans.
  13. He would have if Rome could watch where his feet are or a HOF WR could catch a short pass.
  14. With the caveat that we won the World Series which I’m eternally grateful for, isn’t it weird that we’re in Year 13 of the Theo/Jed era and we’ve made the NLDS a grand total of 3 times in those 13 years?
  15. A loss you shake off as whatever if you haven’t blown 13 games this year with a lead in the 8th inning or later to put you all but out of the playoff race.
  16. Ugh of course they get thrown out at 3B. Love giving up key outs on the bases
  17. Dude what the horsefeathers, how hard is it to not give up a home run to Tommy horsefeathers Edman?
  18. Well that sucks. 6 outs to get it tied/take the lead again
  19. Yep and the good greatly greatly outweighs the bad. It’s just crazy how a player who is so skilled occasionally makes plays that really make you scratch your head
  20. For as good as he legitimately is, PCA sure makes a lot of bizarre errors that most players don’t make. But great hit to tie at least.
  21. Damn the Cubs have already made outs today in batted balls with the following xBAs: .820, .550, .550 (again), .320. Meanwhile Edman hit a 2 run HR on a ball with a .210 xBA
  22. Agreed. Of the many things that have sucked about this year, 2 of the things I hate the most are the Wicks and Brown injuries that have basically made both of their seasons a wash and don’t give us a feeling of what their roles can be next year
  23. Didn’t the dodgers hit 4 home runs in a row about 10-15 years ago? I remember it being a late inning as part of a comeback
  24. and there’s the 4th home run haha
  25. damn I turned it on and the first thing I see is Wicks’ 3rd home run allowed to make it 4-2. I didn’t even get the dopamine hit from the Cubs taking a 2-0 and thinking about a sweep in LA
