  1. To answer your second question, I believe Michigan has to pay him $1M less in buyout if they fire him after Jan. 1 - not that they will wait that long. I don't think that matters. It would be more harmful to the program to leave Hoke in limbo for another month (because of recruiting mostly) than it would be to pay that extra $1m to go away today. And it looks like today is the day....2:30 PM CST press conference.
  2. Craw apparently injured himself off the ice. Q says he will be out at least for tomorrow's game. Also the Blues signed Brodeur LOL
  3. IDK if this means we're meeting with him again or if this is just stuff that gets communicated over the phone or what...but it sure seems like it'd be another meeting. It certainly sounds like this diffutes the report that the Cubs aren't confident in signing him. They seem to be pulling out all the stops because they think they can get him.
  4. I obviously want him to go to the Cubs but if he doesn't I just don't want him to go back to Boston. I hate the fact that they could trade him away in a lost season, get legitimate value in return (even though Cespedes wore out his welcome in Boston he will still fetch value in a trade), and then re-sign him without having to lose a draft pick because the new CBA took away draft pick compensation for someone traded in his walk year. Then again maybe I shouldn't be mad at the Red Sox for being shrewd and taking advantage of the new CBA since we also have a FO that finds ways to create competitive advantages within the confines of the CBA.
  5. well, this stood out...boy did we ever have some serious stockholm syndrome with our [expletive] farm system Geez only Castillo, LeMaheieu, and Flaherty became major leaguers with any value at all and 2 of them with other teams.
  6. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/ct-blackhawks-salary-cap-spt-1201-20141130-story.html I know we've talked about this a little bit here but damn this is depressing.
  7. This is a great point. Ugh. Dave Leito left after an NCAA Tournament and NIT appearance, and that was before the program became the embarassment of high major basketball. What would keep a successful DePaul coach around besides a new arena?
  8. It's not going to be a big named coach. I am not sure which way DePaul should go... they either need to get a coach that can maximize the talent of lower rated players, or a coach with strong Chicago ties in an attempt to get a Chicago pipeline growing. But if Illinois can't do it, I really don't think DePaul can beat the likes of Duke, Kentucky, Illinois, etc to get anyone worthwhile. But from what I understand, Purnell hasn't really done a good job of establishing relationships with the powerful HS coaches in the area and is still seen as an outsider.
  9. I think he has to at least make the NIT to keep his job. DePaul has enough talent this year for an NIT berth (IMO) with good coaching so the onus is on him. But then again, DePaul does things at a glacially slow pace and they are paying Purnell a lot of money. A real impact move would be to wipe out Purnell and AD Jean Lenti Ponsetto at the same time and signal a fresh start for the program.
  10. Big loss for the O's. I bet they end up with Kemp
  11. So stupid...have no idea what to think of them now. Lehigh is freaking terrible and an inexcusable loss, but the Stanford win makes up for it mostly.
  12. I hate you
  13. In my 3 leagues I had win and in, lose and out scenarios in each. About to go 0-3. One is already over, another is a virtual loss at this point and the third is my main league that I have the 2nd most points in a league that has 8 playoff teams and I'm projected to lose to go 5-9. I think I'm going to quit fantasy
  14. They definitely have a good defense. If they had an average offense they would probably be in contention for a decent bowl instead of probably no bowl
  15. Better not get more than a Addison Russell equivalent in value
  16. Not a meatball but can we get Josh McCown back just for this one?
  17. Yeah but this isn't the first week the offense has been like this. And I think some of the bitching has been about how this offense with so many weapons and a supposed offensive guru can underachieve so much to the point where the offense has been neutered to survive against a good defense
  18. Can't copy the link to picture on phone but here's a tweet of the photo: That car looks bad
  19. Doesn't sound good....
  20. Lions outscore the Bears 31-3 since the Bears led 14-3
  21. 1 legit scoring drive all day. 2014 Chicago Bears
  22. Start a drive at the 3? For the Lions: 10 play TD drive For the Bears: 3 conservative plays and a punt to their own 40
  23. You're not comparing, you are explaining why one is awesome and one is just decent
  24. Why is that the only seasons Cutler stays healthy all year are the years that the Bears are terrible?
  25. Down 14 in the 4th quarter, let's keep running the same offense that scored 10 legit points all game to this point.
