Gasol signed a 3 year deal. Next season is year 2. I believe its 2 years with a player option for a 3rd year Crap. Yeah this is why I always wanted to keep Boozer and let him expire last year as opposed to signing another old big and have him for 2 more years for just as much money Might have been in the running for someone like Love or Aldridge this summer
http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/132697176/comparing-2015-mlb-rookies-with-past-trout Bryant is on pace to have the 3rd (or 4th) best WAR season by a rookie in the last 20 years. Only Trout in 2012 (by a lot) and Pujols in 2001 (by not much) had more WAR their rookie seasons than what Bryant is projected to at 6.8 (Pederson is projected to have a 7.9 WAR this season which would be second best)
I know its not a big deal the order, but I'd feel more comfortable if they locked up Saad first, especially before another team puts an offer sheet in front of him...but perhaps that's what he's personally waiting for.
To be fair, Gasol is a free agent after this season, Noah is fragile and declining. Gasol signed a 3 year deal. Next season is year 2. I believe its 2 years with a player option for a 3rd year
Well it's obvious someone is getting moved and it seems like it will be Taj. Hopefully any savings will get the Bulls a backup PG that's better than minimum salary guy
They talk about that a lot on RealGM and while it's valid I think it's overblown and makes it seem like Gar just blindly picks who Lloyd says to. Also, Lloyd made the Teague pick, I don't know why it's suggested he didn't. He stayed on to scout that draft and left the day after. It's possible Gar ignored his advice as he was out he door afterwards but Teague has to be a mark on Lloyds record.
I wouldn't have been super disappointed at splitting this series before it began but I never imagined that we did split it would be the Kershaw and Greinke games we won. Also, 7 runs in a 4 game series, but we split. Crazy
That is kind of crazy to play most of a game without Soler, Bryant, Fowler, Castro and Montero. That's the 1,3,4,5 and 6 hitters in our preferred lineup.
Yeah but let's see how he finishes the year before we pan him. If he doesn't get it together, well he's had bad years before and has turned it around the next year. True. And I know I'm about to state the obvious but the scary thing is...........we have no choice. I have irrational fears that Jon Lester is mentally rattled. That the big money and the focus on his throwing has gotten him way out of his comfort zone. I think signing someone like Price this offseason would end up taking a lot of the pressure of Lester having to pitch like an ace. Who knows if that's a legit issue he's having but it would at least take that excuse away from him.
If you talk to Boston that's not exactly a rare FA mistake from Theo. And the fact that his 2 big FA signings with the Cubs are Lester (not willing to give up on the signing but it's trended bad) and Jaxon signals concern.
