  1. David Ross has 15(16 now) plate appearances against LHP this year, we can comfortably ignore that. Last year he hit .228/.318/.491 against them and has a career OPS against LHP of about .750. This is far better than what we can expect from Coghlan, even more so when the pitcher himself has a huge platoon split. ok fine then don't give him 5x more PA against RHP than LHP. Stop this silly personal catcher crap against RHP.
  2. You can't be serious He's a backup catcher that hits LHP fine and plays good defense. I wish he wouldn't be Lester's personal caddy, but that's not up to him. In that situation(Coghlan due up, LHP on the mound, Ross has to enter the game next inning, no other RH bench options) he is 110% the right guy to be in the batter's box. Didn't someone just post he's hitting .154 against lefties? There's more to look at than BA and I'm too lazy to look it up but that's certainly not a good start. When TT posts something I don't agree with I usually question my thinking but I don't understand this time. I mean Id rather him be our backup catcher than Koyie Hill but that's not saying much. And I don't understand the need for him to start 2 games a week Edit: ok sample size on the stats vs lhp
  3. What's not to love about a .185 hitter? His OPS+ is 58 so he's over half as good as the average hitter. Woo hoo ross didn't have to come in. If the choice is let Montero run and stay in the game or let Ross bat in a crucial spot, I go the former and it's not even close
  4. Do we not think Alcantara can be more effective than stupid Baxter? Is there something I'm missing here?
  5. Franconia owning Maddon here. He somehow removed Montero, Coghlan and Denofria from the game in exchange for Herrera, Ross and Baxter, 3 of the worst players in baseball.
  6. id almost rather have Jon Lester bat than Ross, mostly because of gamblers fallacy.
  7. Harper just has a mild hamstring strain just as everyone was freaking out about him leaving the game
  8. I don't know why we're following the Pirates inning by inning. Actually I don't know why we're following anyone inning by inning in June
  9. Pathetic? Chelios, Belfour and Savard. Then a couple guys that played one season with them at end of their careers, Coffey and Gilmour. Name last baseball team to have 5 players inducted in the span of 15 years. That just seems very quick - shouldn't induct so many people - takes away from the badge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes like pointed out claiming Coffey and Gilmour as Blackhawks HOFers is like claiming Robert Parish is a Bulls HOFer
  10. That's all great, but there's no avoiding the fact that the Cubs never get hot when they need to. The Pirates have won 20 of 25 and the Cubs haven't. That's not the sign of a team built for the playoffs. Hoping this is a joke? Rondon Fan's arguments convinced me. Hah. I was going to say that you are much too respectable of a poster to be posting that garbage
  11. I was able to get 4! Need one? I am not sure how to break up the pages in a PDF file though. Unless there are three other people here who want to go with you? Or you have 3 friends that want to go? I got thru about 12:05 and ticketmaster finally made the tickets available in PDF format. Just send me a PM with your email. You are a god among men. PM'd you
  12. I definitely saw the one after Game 6. Looked like she was tripping balls. Not just because she was doing funny dances and blowing kisses, but her eyes just had this weirdly blank expression like she was a million miles away.
  13. She'll get over it. Fake edit: I kid. Enjoy the rally.
  14. Lucky. Make sure you let me know the name and address of the person you are taking, so I can "make sure" they don't go and you will have no recourse but to offer your extra to me.
  15. I hate ticketmaster...looks like im out of luck. I would love to have an extra if anyone was lucky and got some. I'll be your best friend.
  16. That's what whatever business dude was on the radio this morning said basically.
  17. http://www.ticketmaster.com/official-chicago-blackhawks-rally-chicago-illinois-06-18-2015/event/04004ED0D4F45C74?artistid=2133704&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=107
  18. Anyone else trying to tickets to the Soldier Field rally? I have no idea if they are going to "sell" out in seconds or longer. I will be on at noon
  19. How do we replace Oduya and to a lesser extent Rozival? My concern regarding next year is that the Hawks have played a LOT of hockey the last 3 seasons. And they've already proven to themselves that they can coast through the regular season and turn it up in the playoffs. Keith-Seabrook-Hammer is an elite top 3 but then you are looking at TVR and 2 marginal players filling out the back end. Doing what the Hawks did with 4 blue liners playing 90% of the time for 2 playoff series was nothing short of amazing. But doing that for another 100 games after a 3 month break is impossible. So the 4-6 guys will be getting plenty of minutes and the top 3 will be playing at 80-85 percent. It could work out or the Hawks could really struggle if they can't find 1-2 dependable guys for the 3rd pairing.
