The Sun Times said that the Yankees and Dodgers are also interested in him. I hope they put him on waivers very soon because I believe the Cubs would win waiver claims over both of them as of right now but the Cubs have the same record as Yankees and 1/2 game behind the Dodgers so that could change as soon as tomorrow. -
Cubs on pace for 91 wins. Keep in mind that only 1 Cub team in the last 26 years and only 4 in the last 70 have won 90 games in a 162 or less game season (excluding the 98 Cubs because it took them 163 games to get to 90 wins)

Cubs would be in 1st place in 4 of the other 5 divisions (ALE ALW NLE NLW) would be 2.5 games up on the 1st wild card spot if they were in the AL Central

I was ok with them not making a big trade and I thought we had enough to catch the Giants and maybe even the Pirates. It was a matter of our stud hitting prospexts starting to hit. But I understand both sides: not trading away young cost controlled players for a rental in a season where your best case scenario is a 50/50 game to get into the DS. But I also understand the "you can't just assume you will be here again" philosophy also.

No way, not with 0 outs, the lead and runners at the corners. There are a number of positive things you can do with Hendricks there and one of the worst things he can do is hit into a DP, which at least has a positive outcome of a run scored
