  1. Sweet. Strand a lead off triple with the heart of the order batting lol
  2. I don't think the Cubs understand the meaning of a "Designated Hitter". The person added to the lineup doesn't have to have the hitting ability of a pitcher.
  3. I mean I know they are friendlies against disinterested teams (well at least Germany), but winning back to back in Holland and Germany is pretty sweet
  4. If you have cable with Fox Sports 1, you can stream it on the Fox Sports Go app/desktop website
  5. I can't read the accompanying article. I'm asssuming below that picture it says: "No."
  6. Space on the cup is filling up, Timonen is in as well. Not sure for who, but I'm assuming Cumiskey unless Oduya is too injured to play, which I desperately hope not. Edit: if i just kept reading....looks like its Cumiskey and Runblad sitting, Oduya appears to be in
  7. I hope the Hawks come out tonight like they did in Game 5 of the 2010 Final against Philly. I remember it being pretty much the most dominant period of hockey I've seen from this team in an important game. This is all on memory, but I feel like the entire period was spent in the Flyers zone, peppering shots at Leighton (or whoever was in goal at that point in the series). At first it was frustrating because I think we went 12 minutes without a goal before finally scoring 3 the rest of the period.
  8. He's an RFA right, so I guess they could "pursue" him. But those big offer sheets happen so rarely for a reason. Pittsburgh can't even extend an offer sheet to him because they lost their 1st round pick when they traded for David Perron. The only way they could get him is if the Blackhawks will willing to trade him. Actually, I'm pretty sure that's not true. I believe the it's the 2016 first rounder that would be at risk. Yeah I'm an idiot and trusted LeBrun's info

  10. That has to be the worst draft haul in baseball history
  11. Maybe the contract is bothering Lester again.
  12. I think the Tigers are like 9-1 against the Cubs since 2001.
  13. Is this the game where the meatballs start foaming at the mouth with hate for Lester?
  14. This is misleading. When judging possession stats, most people use a "close" score situation. That's when the game is within a goal through the first two periods or tied in the third. Adjusting for that criteria has Tampa with more Corsi events in two of the three games. It's not a surprise Chicago has more total shot attempts, they've been trailing for the majority of the series. Score effects are very real and pronounced. There hasn't been a 2 goal lead the entire series, so the entire first 2 periods of each game count. In the third periods, the Hawks have been tied for around 24 minutes (just going from my head...about 2 minutes in game 1, 5 minutes in game 2 and 17 minutes in gmae 3) so we're looking at just over 7/9 periods within the close score situation, or just about exactly 80% of the series. But I haven't found situational Corsi stats so if you are saying that's correct then it is. That said, I would be willing to bet that its close to 50-50 in the 2 games Tampa had the advantage.
  15. So the Hawks have won the Corsi battle in all 3 games so far, suggesting that they have actually been the better team this series. Now's the time for that to work in our favor... Game 1: Corsi For (CF): 53.6% Corsi Against (CA): 46.4% Game 2: CF: 50.5% CA: 49.5% Game 3: CF: 56.8% CA: 43.2%
  16. TVR was ok but he definitely looked slow to react to some plays and had a couple interesting passes inside the Hawks end. Still like him more than Cumiskey and Rundblad who are going to hurt you the more time they are on the ice. It's actually amazing that the Ducks weren't able to take more advantage as it seems like Everytime TB scores, at least one of the bottom 2 blue liners are on the ice.

  18. That's fine. I disagree though I definitely think the Hawks are the better team. Nothing I saw from the Lightning suggests that they are clearly better. Why because they are fast? pfft. I honestly was more worried after 3 games of the Anaheim series. I thought they were clearly the superior team through 3 games. I don't think that here. That's not to say that the Lightning can't win. They are definitely good enough to win this series just as Anaheim was last round. I just don't think they will. And yes part of it is because of the past. There have been plenty of examples of teams looking better than the Hawks through 3 games only for the Hawks to pull through. LA looked like they were on another whole level through 4 games last year and it took an awkward deflection in OT of game 7 to put the Hawks away. Vancouver was clearly better than Chicago through 3 games and even a lot of game 5 and 6 but it took a terrible TO in OT of game 7 to beat us. The only 2 series that weve lost under Q that we just didn't fight til the end were 2009 against Detroit and 2012 against Phoenix. we pretty much always respond and we play our best when our backs are to the wall. It's happened this year it happened last year it happened the year before it happened 6 years ago etc.
  19. Tough to lose a game that's at home, you outshoot them, you kill of 90 seconds of a 5-on-3, score a power play goal and have a 3rd period lead
  20. Yet they are still the 2nd best team on the ice. that hasn't been shown at all though. They have played 3 games to a draw. The difference has been a single goal with 3 minutes left in the most recent game. The Hawks have had periods of dominance and so have the Lightning.
  21. They aren't as good as us. We will be fine. It will be a test though. I think most of us were saying the same thing after game 3 against Boston in 2013 too They look so fast. Kinda like us during our early days of being good. I'll never count this team out but I've seen too much dominating play from Tampa. I was saying the same thing in 2013. We got dominated for most of the first 3 games with the biggest domination coming in the 3rd game. Lightning haven't dominated us as much as Boston did in 2013. It's not going to be easy but I'll still give the Hawks a 60% chance of winning the series well that's silly. the odds are certainly in tampa's favor right now. Obviously with home ice and a series lead they are. I am fairly confident in the Hawks. They always get better as the series goes along and I think the first 3 games have been played to a draw. Advantage Chicago
  22. Yes honestly that's the biggest issue. 0 points from Kane and Toews through 3 games, it's not surprising at all were down 2-1. Toews in particular looked bad tonight. Disappointing especially because Q is able to pick his matchups.
