  1. Bryant has struck out in 10 of his last 17 AB
  2. baseball in 2015 is so annoying I have a feeling (or at least want to believe) that Soler will have a Rizzo in 2014 like breakout next season
  3. Someone show me a statistic that shows how ridiculously unlucky Soler has been
  4. Haha I'll take runs however we get them
  5. Alright 3 more outs and we survive another game we only score 2 runs in
  6. Well we got our castro hit for the week I guess expecting another would have been greedy
  7. That was a fun half
  8. At least for me, it's not about being relaxed. We are closing in on August. What they are is what they are. I'm still highly optimistic about the future of this franchise and love the things that have taken shape for the long-term health of the organization. I believe Bryant, Rizzo, Soler, Schwarber and Russell are going to make one hell of a batting order. But not this year. They just can't score runs. I appreciate those who are optimistic and believe things have to turn around. I'm just not at that point anymore, and I so very much hope I'm wrong. It does not matter who we play. It does not. If you are only going to score two or fewer runs per game, you can't enjoy any sort of sustained stretch of success. And I have stopped believing that the offense is going to heat up at this point. How can you possibly think this with a lineup full of 22 and 23 year olds as the key players? what the hell does any of that even mean? "just not at that point anymore?" And i'm going to go ahead and state confidently that we will not score 2 or fewer runs per game the rest of the season. Comments like that are EXACTLY what i'm talking about and referring to as needing to relax. WTF? Yeah whoops I stand corrected
  9. I think it's been pretty reasonable discussion about how while the team as a whole is performing to expectations the entire offense has been sucking for a fairly lengthy stretch. Pointing out negatives doesn't necessarily equal freaking out. Didn't watch the game but heard about a bad throw and a catchers interference. Might have been another miscue I missed
  10. That's insane..Bryant is the only hitter with a slugging % over .360 over the last 14 days
  11. Record wise the Cubs are right at my expectations, maybe slightly exceeding. I didn't expect the offense to be this dismal though. Even Rizzo stopped hitting.
  12. Who do we cheer for when St. Louis is playing the Giants and Mets?
  13. Cubs record against teams currently under .500: 20-19 Cubs record against teams at or above .500: 27-21 Cubs records against teams at or above .500 who aren't satan's minions: 23-12 They don't have a losing record against any +500 team they've played except the Cardinals.
  14. At least they made this decision before the trading deadline...would have been awkward to sit Rizzo on the bench the rest of the year.
  15. When I first heard Ed Farmer, I thought someone must have bet him he couldn't spend an entire game speaking monotone...either he is just the most unexcitable person ever or this is one long running bet.
  16. He should just retire. Watching/following him is cringe worthy these days. Of course part of me keeps hoping he will put it together for one weekend and look like the Tiger of old while winning a major. But I just can't see that happening at this point. That knee injury killed his career.
  17. No I'm guessing this means that either Teagarden is going back down or Ross' concussion is worse than what we expected.
  18. He's hitting 9th in the AAA All Star game tonight. He's hitting but not even close to the level he hit at AAA last year and not at a level that would demand a call up.
  19. The last Cub to get a hit in an ASG was Soriano's HR in 2007. Since then the Cubs have gone 0-13 with 2 BB and 6 K. Prior to that, the last 7 Cub hitters to bat in an ASG got a hit dating back to Sosa in 2002.
  20. I seem to remember either Marmol or Dempster striking out the side in extra innings in 08
  21. I can't even enjoy it when our guys are on the same team.
