  1. 26 games left against Miami, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, plus another 13 against the Rockies, Red Sox, and Reds. I'm already preparing myself to be spectacularly bitter that they factor in the race at all due to their garbage division. For some reason my initial reaction is to not worry about the mets because the memories of them fading in 07 and 08 are sort of fresh as is their fade in the 98 wild card race where they were our main rivals to worry about until pretty much the second to last day of the season. But obviously that has nothing to do with this team. I think if they did get in their pitching could get them far.
  2. lol We also don't play them anymore so that doesn't mean much
  3. Wow how far inside is this dudes strike zone. If it grazes the jersey is it still a strike?
  4. Yeah its a battle between Soler and Baez...have to go with Baez as others have. I am just very perplexed as to why Soler has hit with so little power this year. I know he's had bad luck with line drives this year but 5 HRs in 283 ABs is extremely perplexing. He's 23 so its not like he's a 20 year old with still developing power. We've seen the power. He should be hitting one to the moon at least once a week. Perhaps its just a really unlucky year, and perhaps the little amount of time he spent in the minors means that he still has room to grow, but its slightly concerning at this point.
  5. [tweet] [/tweet] lol whoops
  6. supposedly Royal left practice on a cart
  7. just use a VPN already seriously, its 2015
  8. It's not fair that all the other Wild Card contenders have other more important playoff spots to seek out. I was doing some opposing team board surfing yesterday and all of them are barely talking about the Wild Card race, they only care about what the Dodgers, Nationals and Cardinals are doing. The least the Pirates can do is let us have a second wild card spot to shoot for.
  9. That means he will pitch us into the playoffs down the stretch and will pitch us right out once we get there.
  10. Something I just realized while looking at the standings: The Cubs have the best road record in baseball
  11. Cardinals fans must think baseball is so easy. All these teams have these stars just waiting to be dealt to them.
  12. DOUBLE PLAY! Rangers win! We begin our huge week tied for the 2nd wild card and 4 games behind the buccos
  13. Rangers are totally going to walk the tying run in
  14. Another hit...bases loaded 1 out and Giants down 2-1. Rangers are imploding
  15. Bases loaded 1 out for the Giants. Giants big bats are up (Posey, Pence, Belt)
  16. I read somewhere that the Cubs are the only team I baseball that hasn't been 10 over at any point since the start of the 2009 season. Or were
  17. Phew. Now turn on MLB network for end of Giants game
  18. Should also mention there's a bunch of Reynolds Starlin bashing if you turn it on
  19. MLB network has Cubs and Giants games on split screen right now. FYI
  20. Why was it smart to not throw it? Worse case is you throw it away and he gets to 2nd or 3rd base. His run doesn't matter. Take the gamble and throw it.
  21. Giants are threatening in the 9th down 2-0. Runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out
  22. There you go Hector. Now get a ground ball and head to Pittsburgh
