Uh why? because kane was arguably the biggest part of them. If this turns out to be true, I don't see how anyone will be able to look back on the last 7 years of hockey fondly. his fingerprints are all over everything. it will all be ruined to me. Eh no I'll still enjoy the championships quite a bit. There were plenty of other guys who gave their blood sweat and tears to win a championship, one idiot rapist is not going to take anything away from what the rest accomplished.
I just hate being the "Cubs guy" with distant aquaintences. During small talk inevitably the Cubs come up and it's a very high level boring discussion I'm not interested in having because the moment you get beyond "boy the Cubs are looking good, that Schwarber guy is really something isn't he?" and dig a little deeper ("Bryant has been good but is struggling with off speed pitches lately") the other person has nothing else to contribute to the conversation because he can't talk about the Cubs on that level.
Interesting. Hasnt Ross been catching Arrieta recently? Maybe it's because they trust Montero calling the game more than Schwarber Ross is on the bereavement list. Yep forgot about that. Good call
The Sun Times said that the Yankees and Dodgers are also interested in him. I hope they put him on waivers very soon because I believe the Cubs would win waiver claims over both of them as of right now but the Cubs have the same record as Yankees and 1/2 game behind the Dodgers so that could change as soon as tomorrow.
Cubs on pace for 91 wins. Keep in mind that only 1 Cub team in the last 26 years and only 4 in the last 70 have won 90 games in a 162 or less game season (excluding the 98 Cubs because it took them 163 games to get to 90 wins)
Cubs would be in 1st place in 4 of the other 5 divisions (ALE ALW NLE NLW) would be 2.5 games up on the 1st wild card spot if they were in the AL Central
I was ok with them not making a big trade and I thought we had enough to catch the Giants and maybe even the Pirates. It was a matter of our stud hitting prospexts starting to hit. But I understand both sides: not trading away young cost controlled players for a rental in a season where your best case scenario is a 50/50 game to get into the DS. But I also understand the "you can't just assume you will be here again" philosophy also.
I don't know how anyone could watch Hunter pence and like him if he's not on your team. Dude even spawned a meme last year because opposing fans hate him so much
I was thinking something similar, especially love that we're back to chasing pitchers early on a consistent basis I guess Mallee can keep his job for a little while longer
No way, not with 0 outs, the lead and runners at the corners. There are a number of positive things you can do with Hendricks there and one of the worst things he can do is hit into a DP, which at least has a positive outcome of a run scored
