    Between Strop's ridiculous double fist pump vs. the White Sox and that silly marching band/high step routine yesterday, he's probably my favorite "personality" on this team. And he pissed off Bob Costas, which earns him extra points. That reminds me....is there any chance that Bob Costas either broadcasts the wild card game or is in the building for pre/post coverage? I don't want his presence jinxing Strop. It's gonna be on TBS so it'll be Ernie Johnson, Cal Ripken I'm just concerned that MLB Network will have pre/post coverage inside the ballpark, and Costas will be part of that coverage.

    to comment on that, I remember last year I saw a photo of the Cubs celebrating a walk off and I could only identify like 5 of the faces. Now I recognize all of the ones clearly visable

    6.5 games up, 95% chance of making the playoffs. Even if we get swept this series we are in very good shape. Just going to enjoy the ride.

    I can't tell if this was Mulligan or Hanley but loved this comment when interviewing Len this morning: "Motte with 8 wins out of the pen to go along with 9 holds and 6 saves, gonna be tough to replace that out of the pen right?"

    Looked it up...since July 30th the Cardinals, Pirates and Cubs are 45-13 in games where they don't play each other. Cardinals 13-7 Pirates 14-3 Cubs 18-3

    Harold Reynolds just said the NL Central leaders aren't 3 of the 4 best teams in baseball like their record indicates because all 3 teams have been beating up on weak teams. Wtf?

    It's funny last year around this time Javy was the first of the new wave to come up with such hoopla and fan fare. Flash forward a year, pretty much the entire wave is up except Javy and while I definitely want him up its like icing on the cake as opposed to the savior he was a year ago

    Typical Whitesox fans that are butt hurt. This has probably changed but about 8 days ago I looked it up and the Cubs had the 2nd best record in baseball against teams over .500. And at the time (I know this has changed because the DBacks are over .500 now), they had at least a .500 record against every +500 team they played except St. Louis.

    When the Cubs win one in SF it pretty much puts away WC2 barring a significant collapse. Oh wait Arrieta vs. Cain tomorrow. Some would say its already put away im sure.

    That's kind of like asking to explain why a good home run hitter can't steal bases. Yeah...its just weird Lester has absolutely no baseball skills outside of pitching. Which is fine because he's a very good pitcher, and isnt the first or last like that, but the fact that he sucks everywhere else and insists on Ross catching rears its ugly head sometimes.
