It's kind of crazy how quickly it turns. One moment we are playing great, pen is lockdown good, big hits all the time, scoring in the first inning most games etc. next moment your starters can't go 5 innings, the opponent is scoring multiple runs in the first few innings, strop comes in and gives up 3 runs in a tie game, etc. I'm sure it's just a blip but it's amazing how quickly you can go from feeling great to feeling lousy about a team.

I've thought about that in the past, but not with things really staring to take off. Unless the Cubs win the world series this year or next, I don't think there's any chance he doesn't see this through.

Is it possible he saw the writing on the wall? They hired Dipoto earlier this year and even still Dombrowski is very hands on. When he took over the Tigers he fired the incumbent GM less than a month into his first season

My only concern is losing 1.5 games to the Pirates and Giants over the last 3 days. I don't doubt the Cubs will play well but other than the sweep by the Cubs the Giants are handling their "impossibly tough schedule" quite well going 6-2 in the other games

I love how the unbeatable at home juggernaut cardinals play 2 games against pitchers we just beat up and score 2 runs total in those games.

See this is the problem with Coghlan hitting 3rd...you are going to find situations where he either has to hit against a lefty or you have to put someone like Chris Denofria into the heart of your lineup. Denofria is ok but not someone Id like hitting between Schwarber and Rizzo. Rizz!
