  1. Yeah. With the count at 3-2 I don't think I would have given Russell anything to hit there with the worst hitter in major league history on deck followed by La Stella. Might have bit him in the ass putting the extra runner on so early in the game but it makes sense to me
  2. Yay first MLB walk for Lester. Second time reaching base
  3. Not only are they playing bad but injuries are really starting to add up. Tonight so far Goldman left with a concussion, Ratliff left with an ankle injury and Porter left with a hamstring injury
  4. I believe I saw that the game will be joined in progress at 9:10
  5. Not surprising but Maddon basically confirmed that Javy will be up Tuesday and could go right into the lineup. Bonafacio and Berry expected up as well. Possibly Soriano off the DL. Edwards would wait until Iowas season is over to get his callup
  6. Bears really don't look good in their "dress rehearsal"
  7. I'm pretty sure they're like 142-0 this season Kershaw has given up 1 ER or less in 10 of his last 11 starts. Can you guess what team was the 11th? Yup Pittsburgh Pirates hit him for 4 ER in 6 IP. They are somehow crazy good
  8. Pirates already up 3-0.
  9. Cardinal scum put up a 4 spot in the 5th and lead 4-0
  10. Fowler 8 Schwarber 7 Coghlan 9 Rizzo 3 Bryant 5 Montero 2 Russell 6 Lester 1 LaStella 4
  11. How is he decent? He's below replacement leve or slightly above depending on who you look at. And the only reason he's 0.5 wins above replacement on fangraphs is because of his defense.
  12. One more thing: is there anyone coming up on 9/1 that we can try as a backup OF against lefties? I can't stand Denofria and I especialy can't stand him hitting freaking 2nd The worst thing is, his OPS is 100 points higher against righties. A .583 OPS against lefties is not very good at all for the LHP part of your platoon
  13. Ouch. Sucks to lose 3 games to the Giants and Pirates and 2 to the Cardinals in a span of 3 days. Tough week for the Cubs after it started on such a high note. That said im still not really worried about the Wild Card at this point. Playoff odds only down 4% over the last few days and most of that was our % chance of winning the division going down.
  14. Giants with the bases loaded and less than 2 outs for the second straight inning. Let's see what magic the Cardinals have up their sleeves this time
  15. Yup when we were facing right handers in extremely favorable hitting conditions. I'm looking forward to a relatively normal looking lineup tomorrow for the first time since Tuesday
  16. Sucks when you get used to winning every game and then all the sudden you lose 3 in a row and score 4 runs. Bring the dong party back tomorrow please
  17. Pissed me off reading on Twitter about how the Cubs will be 6-6 in their last 12 games
  18. I mean if the Cubs have a worst case scenario pitcher to go against its a low contact left hander. Cubs have faced 2 of the best in the last 2 nights in pitchers parks. 2 losses is not surprising. The only thing that truly bothers me from the last 3 games is the lack of quality starts from the bottom 3 in the rotation I'm with you on the quality starts, but I was really just bemoaning the fact that nobody else is losing. So, after a 21-4 stretch we picked up a few games on the Cardinals and Pirates and then in three days we lose pretty much all of that back - albeit in very losable games in terms of pitching matchups. Thankfully, we picked up a ton of games on the Giants, Dodgers and Nationals this month though. It's frustrating but the Cubs can only control the game they are playing. They are in a historically tough division...it is what it is
  19. It's too bad Kershaw turns into a pumpkin in the playoffs. How could anyone win a short series with a locked in Greinke and Kershaw?
