  2. I've been out of the loop for several years, I will jump back in
  3. which of those groups does jake go in I think hes an intermediary. Not quite in the same age range as the younger guys, but not really old enough to be an old guy. Going to make a blanket statement and say because hes from Texas he has some redneck in him, but he's too cool to be lumped in with those guys.
  4. I love how they all get along. Well there's 2 factions...the young guys and the old red necks, but even they both seem to co-mingle quite well.
  5. Even if this is the plan, why not trade him now and then sign him again in the offseason? I'm guessing his cap hold is low, so bird rights basically. They can sign another FA and then Pau if he wanted to sign here.
  6. If Pau chose to spend the twilight of his career on a middling Bulls team..... Edit: sort of beaten
  7. They seem to be perfectly content being in NBA hell for the foreseeable future. That's the only explanation I can come up with. It makes no sense to me. Resigning Gasol for $20m a year or whatever is being rumored makes no sense to me. As does keeping Gasol in a lost season and not getting anything for him. I don't care if its for a future fringe rotation player or a underperforming young player with upside like MacLemore just get something. A FO that was known for stockpiling assets and planning well in advance is now running a shitty team with few assets into the ground.
  8. I have absolutely no idea what the Bulls are doing. Can anyone even begin to understand the Bulls short and long term strategy here? I am completely perplexed.
  9. omg that would be awesome

  11. Do it, it's fun. I catch nuances I missed the first time because I was hyperventilating during the first go around.
  12. I can't be the only one that frequently finds myself rewatching chunks of the (good) playoff games.
  13. The worst part was, they would occasionally show replays from the normal camera angle, which is just a giant tease. A brutal game made more brutal by the presentation.
  14. This is the worst thing I've ever seen. I cannot imagine how someone thought this was a good idea.
  15. Jerod Mayo is the latest early retiree
  16. All that does is make a gimmick which 3-3 really is even more important than it should be. The only thing close to fair is, 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for some sort of OT/ shootout win, 1 point for some sort of OT/loss loss and 0 for a regulation loss. Meh, I'd rather have 3-on-3 than a shootout or 5-on-5 OT. If it was a 5 minute 5-on-5 OT, most games would get decided in ties. While I am fine with ties, I want to limit the number of ties overall. Again, I don't think there is even a chance for a consensus on this, everyone has their own opinion on how it should be.
  17. I like the tie instead of the shootout. I'd like to see 3 points for a regulation win, 2 for an OT win, 1 for an OT loss, and one each for a tie if nobody scores in the 3 on 3 OT. That way teams that play for the tie are sacrificing points, not gaining them. I don't like the idea of loser points. I've heard people theorize that the reason they don't go with the 3-2-1 system is that they don't want to inflate the number of points a team can win in a season. It would be interesting to see how that would affect the standings. I agree, no loser points. I know everyone has different takes on this and most hate ties, but I am fine with them. My ideal state: 60 minutes of hockey, winner gets 2 points, loser gets 0. If tied after 60, 5 minutes of 3-on-3, winner gets 2 points, loser gets 0. If tied after OT, its a tie and both teams get a point.
  18. That wouldn't be a bad scenario for the Cubs. Dodgers and Pirates would have to play a WC2 tiebreaker and then have to turn around and play the WC game before facing us.

  20. He certainly has major flaws but at a school like Purdue you aren't going to find better. Yeah what a crummy program. I hear their women's team is pretty good
  21. I am the master of hyperbole so grain of salt but that was one of the biggest non-Tourney wins in the Beilein era. I haven't even hit send yet and I'm already backtracking but it was a pretty big win.
  22. Woo hoo. I've never seen a team I root for host an all star game. Was too young for Bulls in 88, Cubs in 90, Hawks in 91. By 2020, the Cubs will have hosted 1 ASG in the previous 58 years
  23. Hell yeah looks like Caris LeVert is coming back today against Purdue. Perfect time as UMs RPI has slipped to around 60 and they are about to start a really tough stretch to finish the season (games vs Purdue, @ OSU, @ MD, vs NW, @ Wis, vs Iowa). Think we need to win 3 of those to feel relatively safe at 21-10 (11-7). At 20-11 (10-8) I think we might need to get to Saturday of BTT to be safe.
