  1. Not a good sign for Baez in CF. 2 base error on a misplayed fly ball.
  2. Never said last year's Bulls were great, but that 'gimpy short-handed Cleveland team' destroyed Atlanta in the ECF, so it's not a huge leap for me that the Bulls could've beaten them. The Bulls haven't been legitimate title threats for 18 years. More than half of our lives. There's been some fool's gold along the way and last year was definitely that. Come on we were legit contenders in 10-11 and 11-12.
  3. Love him or hate him (and I suspect most hate him), his twitter game is on point this after last week
  4. Starlin must have vouched for him
  5. That guy is a moron. Well I don't know anything about him but based on that comment alone.
  6. Sucks that the first over-the-air broadcast of a Cubs game isn't for another 2 weeks.
  7. It's funny, a friend of mine who's a Rangers fan and I were talking about the game Sunday. He was really impressed with the Hawks. Same story with the Pens fans around here too. Perhaps were suffering from a proximity bias. I don't see any meaningful help coming from Rock Vegas this season. Svedberg is too slow. Polkka is interesting but too young/ inexperienced. Seabrook usually plays better in the playoffs. The 3rd pair is better than it was last year with the three headed beast that is Roszy, TVR and Ehrhoff. The X factor will be Gustafson. At times, he's looked really good. Maybe he hit a little bit of a rookie wall there and his play fell off a bit. TCI did an article about the contenders in the west and everyone has their issues, especially on the blue line. Agreed on Gustafsson. That article about Theo et. al. testing the reaction times of draftees to find guys who can dominate at the upper levels? You can SEE Gusty reacting faster than everyone else on the ice. Give him some development time and I think he'll be better than the big three. Wait you think he will be better than Keith, Seabrook and Hjalmarsson? That's a bold statement
  8. I don't necessarily think that last year's 1st round pick should play into this year's decision. The goal is to make your team better in the long term and if he's the best player out there, and the concerns that his injury will take away from his talent are minimal, i'm fine with drafting him.
  9. lmao that BA's worst case scenario for the Cubs is **shudders** a wild card spot instead of the division.
  10. Yeah its its unlikely that the Hawks will be so exposed that they basically are running out 5 defensemen and 8 minutes of Kimmo's corpse in the playoffs. And even if they do, they managed to win the Cup doing that last year. The issue is that if any of Keith, Hammer or Seabrook goes down, we're in trouble.
  11. Only 4 projected starters in that lineup and it would probably still be good enough to make the playoffs.
  12. I'm putting Iowa on my bubble, try and stop me
  13. So the Bulls would be in the lottery if the season ended today. The Heat shot a franchise record 68% tonight lol
  14. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/1364100/2013-comeback-detroit-forged-blackhawks-fire Fun article revisiting the comeback against the Wings. Still get chills remembering the 3rd period of game 6 against the Wings and of course Seabs goal
  15. Leicester City are not going to do it are they? Seem to be running out of steam a tiny bit.
  16. Caris Levert officially out for the rest of the season, and thus his college career at Michigan He was able to play in just 8 of 39 conference games over the last 2 seasons (minimum with 1 BTT game this year), finishing 6 of them. What a damn shame.
  17. Yeah it sucks because I thought our 2 biggest issues heading into the deadline were blue line depth and 1st line wing. We definitely got the wing, and fortified our 3rd line, which if Sunday's game is any indication will make Tuevo a lot more effective. But yeah blue line depth is a hole still. God forbid Keith or Hammer goes down (and Seabrook although he's having a down year defensively). But like Stan said, there are a lot of young defensive players on the Hawks/Rockford. If we find one halfway decent guy out of that group, I think the Hawks can live with what they have, especially if Crawford keeps up his mostly stellar season.
  18. It's funny for most teams, one of the major stories heading into the season would be the anticipation for Russells second year. With this team Addison is almost an afterthought.
  19. Geez, what a douche
  20. My antecdotal rebuttal:. Warriors beat them by 30 in their only meeting. Crappy Bulls beat the Spurs, got blown out twice against Warriors. Indisputable evidence. In all seriousness its the results but its also just the type of basketball they play when I watch them. It doesn't look like the same sport as what the Bulls play. It means dick but the bulls didn't really get blown out the first game vs the warriors. what was the final margin of victory? 12-14 points?
  21. They're only 3.5 games ahead of the Spurs (who also have a better scoring margin). My antecdotal rebuttal:. Warriors beat them by 30 in their only meeting. Crappy Bulls beat the Spurs, got blown out twice against Warriors. Indisputable evidence. In all seriousness its the results but its also just the type of basketball they play when I watch them. 22. I wonder how many wins FG would project for the 2015 NL All Star team if they replaced the Cubs as a team.
