  1. Damn the NC game is getting good. Feeling guilty about not having it on but on well the Cubs are at work
  2. Kinda reminds me of how he looked in the Pirates WC game, some missed bats but a good amount of hard contact at guys. But maybe he's trying to pitch to more contact this year to preserve pitches knowing that Theo/Joe have said they want to limit him a bit? Pitching to contact is one thing, pitching to hard contact is another.
  3. I missed the first part of this inning but not a lot of swing and miss from what I've seen
  4. First of many... Good inning tho. Time for Jake to Jake
  5. Lol the guy we signed to have contact with RISP and less than 2 outs struck out with a RISP and less than 2 outs in his first Cubs AB
  6. I remember after the Cubs traded for Nomar in 2004, I thought "omg there is no weak spot in the order!" And there really wasn't, but this lineup is like so much better.
  7. Speaking of sicknesses affecting opening day starts: [tweet] [/tweet] OPR will be the opening day starter, as we all anticipated he would consistently be back in 2006.
  8. Feel free to call this dead wrong, but perhaps Joe wants more contact guys earlier in the lineup to drive in runs since we struggled so much with RISP and less than 2 outs last year.
  9. You know whats scary for all the old timers here....this will be the 14th season that we've had game threads at NSBB. 14!
  10. Come on Joe, I know the game isn't until 9, but I really want to see that tweet with the lineup on the Wrigley scoreboard.
  11. Oh come on. He was making a petty joke about Wambach's criticism about foreign-born players being recruited for the US team. Okay? And? Are you saying that Bedoya shouldn't have taken the cheap shot at her? That Altidore shouldn't have taken the cheap shot at her and the white-trash starting keeper who's run afoul of the law more than any other MNT member combined? After Wambach insulted half the player pool and Solo threw the entire MNT program under the bus on national television? But it was petty. The joke had no relation to the DUI. It was like 'oh she's in the news for doing something dumb, better take this opportunity to tweet a critical reference her comments that have no relation to this event."
  12. explain. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25503323/important-heres-the-cubs-likely-2016-lineup-in-anagram-form It's an anagram of Jason Heyward.
  13. GIF Heavy projected lineups inside the spoiler tags for the sake of everyone's bandwidth:
  14. And it begins, the most anticipated Cubs season ever. The Cubs are so awesome that they made us start super late because they don't want the eastern half of the country to be too jealous of our awesomeness already. If I had time and photoshop skills this is where the cool gif of the Cubs lineup being assembled in Voltron form would be. Instead you have to deal with my lameness and rely on the funny people on the board to contribute below. Anyways the Cubs lineup is awesome, the Cubs manager is awesome, the Cubs bench is awesome, the Cubs starters are awesome, the Cubs pen is awesome, the Cubs front office is awesome, the Cubs stadium is awesome. Everything is awesome so let us all discuss how awesome the Cubs are at everything until the first time Lester gives up a hit and 75% of the board turns on them. Go Cubs! #wearegood
