  1. offensive ceiling adjusted for positional value or just purely blind "which of these guys can put up the highest wOBA?" Good question. I guess I was thinking the later. If the former, Addison shoots up my list and past Schwarber.
  2. If you had to rank the Cubs by their offensive ceilings (taking into account someone at 28 is probably at their ceiling, while someone who is 23 has the potential to have a higher ceiling) how would you rank the Cubs hitters currently? I'd have to consider Schwarber around 2nd or 3rd, but the risk/chances of him hitting that ceiling lower than other Cubs.
  3. Its their shtick. Screen calls so that idiots / drunks get air time, act like dicks to said callers, complain about [expletive] callers, and then proceed to take more [expletive] calls. It's kept them on the air for over 20 years.
  4. Other people won't let it die. There are now multiple threads containing zingers directed at me that were unprovoked. I was more than willing to drop it after the nomz thread got locked. We should start a "topic de-railing debates" thread, where instead of locking a perfectly good topic because of off topic fighting, we just move the fight to there. Locked threads are literally the worst, especially when theyre locked because of dumb stuff. that would be fun because eventually there would be like 7 arguments going on at once and everyone would be confused and just give up.
  5. I would say not having to see ND's stupid faces on TV makes it a net positive for the rest of us
  6. Congrats NCAA, you win again. No more satellite camps, despite the fact that it is hurting no one.
  7. Good news. After tonight the Cubs will only have 1 game start after 7:15 PM CT between now and August 4th
  8. I would think given the length of the baseball season, anything but an ACL/MCL tear would get him back on the field this year, but I could definitely be wrong.
  9. I would think if there's meniscus damage or an MCL tear yes. But from what I understand repaired ACLs are often stronger than before after recovery. Also from experience as a sports fan, it might be 3-4 years until he can dunk again.
  10. #prayforschwarbs [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo] How does this team handle adversity? Our beacon of light and all that is awesome goes down, and the rest of the team puts up 14 runs. 1st Half Hammel is on the bump, so I expect 8 innings of 1 run ball, and another easy Cubs W.
  11. Well it definitely hurts the Cubs if Soler hits like Soler last regular season, but it doesn't at all ruin their world series hopes. Still a lot of depth even now. If for some reason one of the other 3 starting OFs got hurt, you could likely make an OF with Baez in it. One place where this sucks a little is in trade assets for a starter at the deadline. Baez and Soler might be too important for this season now to trade. That said, the Cubs still have plenty of other assets that could easily get them what they need in July.
  12. I know what you're saying here, but to include elimination from playoff contention in the same category as losing a playoff series is weird. In a playoff series, Lebron had something to do with every game. In this case, it's a fluke of the schedule. lol I know, my whole thing is pointing out marginally interesting oddities to the general annoyance of others.
  13. So the Bulls are technically still alive for the playoffs. Their next game is against the Cavs. If they lose its official. So that means LeBron would have eliminated the Bulls from the playoffs for the 4th time in the last 6 years.
  14. Well I wouldn't expect Joe to sound down, he's the kind of manager who has players that feed off his energy and vibes. Kyle didn't sound down necessarily but he didn't say anything that made me feel better about the situation. We will see, I'm trying to stay positive until I have a reason not to which, if you've followed my post history over the last 13 years, is not easy for me.
  15. I can only imagine how many runs we'd have tonight if we hit a little better with the bases loaded
  16. Awesome mic coverage in the Cubs dugout "The Joe Maddon special" "Exactly like he drew it up!"
  17. Looks like Addy still hasn't learned how to hold onto his bat
  18. 6 ER in 2.2 IP. We could have resigned Jaxon to do that
  19. I'm guessing bone break. Wouldn't shock me if it ends up as a broken fibula after seeing the Twitter pic. If that was even an option they wouldn't have made him out weight on it id think
  20. Ignoring the fact that it was him that collided with Schwarber, good thing we signed Fowler for depth
  21. ive seen people have way less trouble than t hat with a torn ACL i have no idea wtf this is People can routinely put weight on a torn ACL. Best case scenario would be a contusion maybe? A month off
