  1. Heyward K rate sitting around 20%. It was ~14% last year.
  2. Javy only swung at 3 pitches outside the strike zone in that AB. Nice discipline.
  3. It wasn't on HIS PHONE. Someone else took that video and clearly sold it to someone or sent it to someone who shouldn't have gotten it. His account was hacked. Dude, HE'S the one holding that phone. Lol. He was probably coerced into holding the phone, this is all one big conspiracy.
  4. This is a fun article. I especially appreciated the mention of Jermaine Van Buren, a guy I had all but completely forgotten about. Did he make the Murderer's Throw t-shirt?
  5. Hey if Kris Bryant has to play a baseball game the day after, this guy can give a better radio interview.
  6. I know this is so short sighted and frankly meatbally, but dammit i want him signed even if were paying him 20 million at age 39 Part of me thinks the Cubs will not get into serious negotiations until after this season to see how his arm holds up after all the innings last year and presumably this year
  7. Fowler - CF Heyward - RF Zobrist - 2B Rizzo - 1B Soler - LF Baez - 3B Russell - SS Ross - C Lester - P I love how this is the lineup with 2-3 regulars out (depending on whether we still consider Schwarber a regular for this season at least)
  8. I'd say BPA as long as that's not another LB. I'd really like that best player to be on offense though.
  9. Would designating Bryant to the minors and putting him on the 7 day DL affect his service time?
  10. It better be a strength because they won't be lighting up the scoreboard. What is the front 7 depth right now? The 2 losers of the Unrein, Ferguson and Sutton battle. Ferguson and Sutton still have projectability left IMO. Houston who came on strong towards the end of the year, Willie Young, Acho and Christian Jones are solid depth. I get your point that they are ignoring the offense. It is a concern for me too, but a solid defense goes a long way to building a good football team, and its not like our offense is like 2000-2004 where there are absolutely no playmakers with garbage QBs. I do think we are going to struggle running the ball next year though and that concerns me.
  11. If Floyd turns out to be a solid pick, the Bears are pretty set with 6 of their front 7 on defense (the 2nd DE spot is still up in the air between Unrein, Ferguson and Sutton). The back end is still a work in progress, but if Amos progresses from last year and Fuller gets a little more consistent, it should hold its own, especially if our LBs are getting pressure on QBs. And while I don't necessarily think its a sure thing we keep all those guys, we have some solid depth behind many of those guys. I really like what we've done to rebuild the defense in basically 2 years and think it could be a strength next year.
  12. You are being ridiculous. He wasn't smoking up in the green room. Somebody attacked him. Lol. Yes someone attacked him with a picture of himself. He's not the first guy to have this happen to him. I know why omc is all worked up but why does anyone else give a [expletive]? He wore the mask like an idiot. He let someone take his pic. And he's still going to make millions of dollars. If Ole miss hadn't paid him to go there, he would have gone somewhere else and may have avoided all this. So we can add Hugh Freeze and omc to the list of people responsible for his actions. Yeah I think its a shitty unfortunate thing that happened and I know that most 17-20 year olds make stupid mistakes they wish they could take back, but at the same time I don't feel sorry for him. Beyond the pot smoking video, he apparently accepted money from his school, which he knew was wrong, and then was Brandon Dassey'd into admitting it publicly. But after all of that he is still the 13th pick of the draft and is pretty much immediately a multimillionaire. If you want to feel sorry for someone feel sorry for Michael Sam who was basically forced to come out, and saw his draft stock drop multiple rounds overnight. Even if he ultimately isn't that good, if he is a 3rd or 4th round pick he gets a legitimate shot to realize his dream and play in the NFL.
  13. It absolutely boggles my mind that a presumably educated person actually believes this. I could understand it if the Cubs had a team filled with players that choked miserably in the past (yes the Cubs got swept by the Mets but that was a systematic destruction not players choking IMO). But to believe some higher power is directing the Cubs to fail simply because they are the Cubs is ridiculous as a serious argument.
  14. I can't believe I'm actually going into minor league threads each morning specifically to see how Almora's done. What a world we live in.
  15. that's not the stat. it was the most poles of any city after warsaw, and it's not even true anymore. Well NYC jumped Chicago recently, but they both have roughly 200k poles. There are about 14 cities in Poland besides Warsaw that have more than 200k people. Even if the entire population isn't considered ethnic Polish, there are some cities like Krakow that have over 700k in population. I am not sure if that fun fact was ever true.
  16. Wasn't that a thing most of last season too? Cubs always ruined our Fridays. Not that 1-2 is a large sample size... Great Memory !!! CUBS are 16-11 (.593) on Sundays CUBS are 11-5 (.688) on Mondays CUBS are 17-9 (.654) on Tuesdays CUBS are 13-13 (.500) on Wednesdays CUBS are 11-5 (.688) on Thursdays CUBS are 13-14 (.481) on Fridays CUBS are 16-8 (.667) on Saturdays Go CUBS !! look at all those losses. What a crap team we had last year.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet] My god I don't know if I want this more to be a hacked message or a real statement
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Wow
  19. If they're real, they're at least irrelevant to his NFL future, unlike weed. I couldn't care less. This is just a fascinating story overall
  20. About to be 2-17 though so they are trending up
  21. This was the only pick in the top 10 that was given a Thumbs down. Post draft grades/reactions are completely meaningless. We all know this. Oh completely, I'm not arguing there. Just posting some of the initial reaction. Thought it was funny everyone else was given a thumbs up
  22. This was the only pick in the top 10 that was given a Thumbs down.
  23. Even though he hasn't fully earned it, I trust that Pace knows what he's doing
