Jimmy shot 31% from 3 last year. The league average from 3 was 35.4%. He did shoot 37% the year before though so I'd say "average" is a better term that "good" -

Yes its just extremely frustrating to be talking about a 5-12 stretch when like 2 weeks ago we were still talking about winning 116 games. Sick of losing and want to feel cocky again. But its all in perspective.

Pretty sure Hammel is pitching tomorrow Arrieta, Lester, Hendricks going against Pittsburgh.

27-26 since the 25-6 start. It's ok to be concerned and frustrated, which I am both. But panic? No way. There are teams that win 95 games that play .500 baseball for a large chunk of the season. I post the above 27-26 stat, but that's so misleading because that is broken down into 22-14 followed by 5-12. Your stat about 16-17 is really 11-5 followed by 5-12. They are playing terrible, in fact much worse than I expected the team to play at any point in this season (this 5-12 stretch is worse than any 17 game stretch the Cubs had last year by 2 full games), but there is nothing to panic about. It's not like this was a team playing over their heads and getting lucky and running out to a big lead. They played like a great team that was so good they were actually getting unlucky with their record. Their start was among the best in baseball history. That doesn't happen on accident.

Unfortunately it comes after a series against the Pirates who are suddenly playing well and can really cut into our division lead with a sweep. Normally a sweep would be the farthest thing from my mind but with the way we've been playing lately...

- Russell getting fixed - Bryzzo going on monster tears - Carl's Jr coming up and suddenly not walking guys - Warren coming up and giving five solid - etc. It's actually pretty interesting how a whole lot is going great for this team: all of those things plus Addisson being a monster at the plate, Zobrist showing power again, and yet in the last two weeks they've lost a whole bunch of games because everyone in the starting rotation except Hendricks has had bad starts and the bullpen has been a revolving door of blown saves I enjoyed it when it seemed like a lot was going wrong but we were winning, like last year when we scored like 4 runs in sweeping the mets.

It's tough. You get used to the nice pick me up from a Cubs win on more days than not, and then all the sudden for almost 3 weeks you've only gotten that bump a couple of times.

Since June 1st we've only won 1 game while scoring less than 5 runs. Ideally we tack on 6-7 more runs and win handily, but if the offense can't do much more it would be really nice to win a low scoring game for the first time in awhile.

I have a lot more confidence in Cahill than the other Cubs middle relievers these days, but I think that's because he hasn't pitched all that much meaning not as many opportunities to f up since that Nationals game

I think this is a leverage move for GarPax. They know that while they want Wade (something something recruiting for 2017), he's not critical for them. They know Wade has an obvious draw to Chicago. They also know that Wade has used the Bulls for leverage in the past, and I'm sure they are not 100% certain if his interest is genuine. So they pretend they can't get down there and see if he is willing to come to Chicago to meet them. Actually pretty impressed if this is what really happened. -
Talking about how if Fowler can be ready to go on a rehab assignment in the next could of days the Cubs will probably allow him to play in the ASG. Which makes me wonder if anyone has ever been activated from the DL to play in the ASG before.

I'd be willing to burn a game in order to enjoy the entertainment value of this.
