  1. Great move? He blatantly cheated. If the correct call was made, Yadi just screwed his team out of a 1st and 3rd opportunity.
  2. holy horsefeathers I didnt know I could see him as a bigger douchebag but here we are.
  3. This to me is still the gold standard of Cubs-Cardinals games to bitch about: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200407200.shtml
  4. OK Jake just give it your best stuff for 2 batters, get out of the inning and let your bullpen win it for you.
  5. Sharp grounder down the 3B line, runner at 2nd originally held but broke for 3rd when LaStella threw to Rizzo. LaStella's throw took Rizzo off the bag so everyone was safe. 1st and 3rd 1 out
  6. Jesus how much bad luck can you have in a single game? Come the hell on.
  7. God, they keep hitting grounders with a runner on first, but they are too slow or too choppy to get 2. More bad luck for Jake.
  8. It's like Jake lost the respect of the umpires with one bad inning. 3 borderline calls that didn't go his way this inning.
  9. without looking it up, it seems he's gone past 100+ pitches too many times this year Only 5 times in 9 starts. And two of those were exactly 100. The other 3 were 119 (no-no), 108 and 111. Yeah they are doing a good job of limiting his outings for sure. But given that he threw almost 100 innings more in 2015 than the previous year, there's a chance that arm fatigue is unavoidable.
  10. The last time Jake gave up 4 runs before today, Donald Trump was not a presidential candidate at the beginning of the day (he announced his candidacy that day).
  11. Thank God. Jake has shown glimpses of not being sharp this year but he's always gotten it together. No doubt some of this is simple bad luck but his control was not there at all that inning. Whenever Jake is less than dominant I'm worried about his arm being fatigued because of last year.
  12. The best way to get over that is to remind yourself of when a team blows a defensive play against the Cubs. AKA rewatch Hammel's 1st inning double from yesterday again.
  13. Also a 4 run lead with Jake is fine, we will win, but every Jake start has extra pressure to maintain his video game numbers.
  14. This post started out good and then veered into a brick wall
  15. Seriously, he's a switch hitting prime Ichiro
  16. It was 361 days between 1st inning runs allowed by Jake
  17. What is that 4 straight starts giving up an ER? What the hell is wrong with him? Edit: and 5 of 6!!!
