  1. Brooks is a beast
  2. They said Schwarber was not going to play that much, next thing you know he has 16 HRs and 5 more in the postseason. Maddon just said Almora was not going to be playing everyday and he seems to find his way in pretty much every game. If Contreras proves himself early Maddon will find spots to get him ABs
  3. It's a shame that we are going to ruin our record against +.500 teams when we send them under this weekend
  4. No, that guy is suspended for PEDs currently.
  5. Is this the last legit prospect acquired during the Hendry administration?
  6. Boggles my mind that less than 2 years ago Contreras was finishing up his season season at High-A with a .679 OPS.
  7. Blame Costa Rica
  8. Turns out he was discussing a concussion Ross suffered three years ago..., 4 runs scored during the story. http://replygif.net/i/716.gif
  9. Or not [tweet] [/tweet]
  10. Coomer said Ross might have suffered a concussion yesterday so I'm guessing that's the reason as predicted. Concussion DL is only 7 days right?
  11. OH MY GOD.
  12. I am going to be very interested to see what the numbers say about pitch framing and all that stuff once we get a decent enough sample size. I think Ross is doing a great job behind the plate and minus the issues blocking pitches and throwing out runners, Miggy is as well. If Contreras struggles framing pitchers and managing the game behind the plate it changes the dynamic of the team a tiny bit.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if the accompanying move was to put Miggy back on the DL. He just hasn't looked right
  14. YES!!!!!!! He forced the issue, love it!
  15. If we keep blowing out teams when we win and losing 1 run games we might set a record for biggest disparity between Pythag wins and actual wins
  16. I wouldn't say it's a major problem. The bullpen is average. Unfortunately we doubled down on great performances from the scrap heap from Cahill and Richard and it hasn't worked out for the most part. Warren has been unreliable and that was quite unexpected. I love Strop and he's electric but every so often just completely implodes. Not going to fault Rondon for either of the last 2 nights. He allowed exactly 2 legit base runners and as a result blew 2 saves. Today he should have gone 1-2-3 but was screwed. He's been dominant. In an ideal world you have 9th - Rondon 8th - Lockdown lefty 7th - Strop 6th - Grimm/Loogy LR - Cahill
  17. I kinda like it. If they are gonna lose, let them have extra time to think about it and be pissed because A) losing happens so little with this team and B) there's very few things to get mad about this year. I'm just glad we are going home where we should have a nice week. I think the Cubs are 9-9 in their last 18 road games. Home cooking is what we need.
  18. Yes I know and it's fine but it's painful to be 1 and the 2 outs away from winning and lose the game. That said there are 2-3 games like this every year. I just want to get back to dominating and not playing .500. it will happen very soon but I hate waiting lol
  19. Now once again we lose before an off day and have 2 days until we can win again
  20. So every time the Cubs have scored today, the Nationals have immediately tied it in the next half inning
  21. I mean I have no idea how he just inexplicably stopped throwing strikes. Ugh
  22. Now to win this game we will have to go through Harper and Murphy again
  23. Let's make this nice and easy and go home Trevor.
