  1. Oh this is not going to go over well at all. What the heck?
  2. That's just...spectacularly dumb. I was thinking their strategy was "no way Javy will allow himself to walk twice in a game, watch him strike out on an intentional walk" Amazingly it backfired.
  3. I was in a meeting, but 11K's and 2 hits is Bad Jake? And 3 walks, but, yeah, a WHIP approaching 1 and over 110 pitches in 6 innings is Bad Jake these days. He's set himself up a hell of a standard. Just incredible. 99% of pitchers on the planet would kill to be Bad Jake. The only thing walks do for teams is drive up his PC (which is important), but when opponents are batting like .150 against him and most of those hits are weak grounders through a hole, you are screwed no matter what situation you are in.
  4. I know this is still the 'initial success before adjustments' period but man did Almora quickly turn my opinion of him around.
  5. It just boggles my mind how good Arrieta is at preventing hard contact. Especially with RISP. If his control was more like last year, he would basically would be throwing CG shutouts in 75% of his starts.
  6. This is not a great game for hitting with RISP for either team
  7. What in the world was that inning? hahahahahahaha
  8. Pirates guys are saying Maddon wanted Richard warming up and he's pissed that Cahill got up instead
  9. Jake just completely forgot how to throw a strike
  10. ahh yes the typical Montero extra 2 bases to turn a manageable rally into a stressful one. horsefeathering worthless Miggy
  11. Dammit I want Jake to go 7, he's pitching himself out of that opportunity
  12. Damn, I was going to praise Jake for having a walk free game. Instead ill just praise him for all the other stuff that he is awesome at.
  13. That would be such a Knicks move
  14. You rarely will see a pitcher with a worse 5 IP, 2 ER game.
  15. Well considering Miggy's numbers against lefties, it would absolutely be the right call in my book
  16. With Jake already at 85 pitches and L/L matchup as well as Miggy's general ineptitude lately, PH for Contreras wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world.
  17. Who likes to make fun of UMFan? Cubs OBP by month: .364, .349, .312 (April, May, June) Cubs OPS by month: .796, .764, .743 (same) Smart people, does this sound right: Unsustainably high April, about right May, down month June?
  18. it's been 2 innings and 2 hits. i'd give it a little more than that before i compared it to that game. 3 innings, and I'm just saying I am seeing similarities, high pitch count, lots of k's (which are related), and what few balls are put into play are finding holes at a high percentage for hits.
  19. This is actually similar to the DBacks weird game. Striking out most batters, but batting .500 on balls in play.
